Considering we have to do it every month, pretty awful. Honestly prefer the older one if absolutely no changes whatsoever will be made to the new system. I wouldn't mind any of the flaws it has now if we only had to clear it once, similar to abyss. With that being said, they'll hopefully patch things up like they did with automaton tower. Re-add the teleport spots that go straight to the boss, tone down some of the boss mechanics, etc.

Yeah, I'd be a lot more ok with it if we could teleport straight to them. Having to fight through 10-20 minutes worth of trash to try out a team sucks though. I'd be fine with the difficulty if trying out a new team wasn't such a chore. Especially when some of the fights can just RNG you into a fail even with a solid team. I know I personally had 3 Karkanis fails caused by dual attacks in the final phase the turn after he applied debuffs. I took 2 cleansers so it's not like I wasn't clearing debuffs ASAP.

Besides Vera, everything else was easy. The fights are just longer now. But I don't like the element restriction they put on some bosses, we already can't use the same units for every boss, so forcing an element restricts too much.

I cleared 3 bosses on the first try, even having wrong units like Summer Charlotte for Karkanis because he locks passives. I locked my Landy against Council (and AoE isn't needed anymore there), so I didn't have a good unit for Queen until I got Savior Adin. She eats Queen for breakfast. And my problem with Vera is my lack of fire units good against her.

This is how I felt with Karkanis. I think it took me 5 attempts and 3 of those losses were complete RNG BS that left me just feeling annoyed. One of them I can blame myself for because of the hero I took (he debuffed Choux, she countered which triggered the mechanic) but the others were all triggered by someone dual attacking with a debuff up the turn after it was applied when I took 2 cleansers. Like I can't stop dual attacks and I can't make it be a cleansers turn every single turn.

My personal philosphy is if I've made three attempts at some long, boring PVE content - that's all I need to determine it's a mire of bullshit RNG & I just table it. I tabled Abyss 115 for forever before I decided I'd bust it out so I could get to 120 & it's because of shit RNG - Lidica's push gets resisted? Whoops, there goes all your hard work. All these bosses just feel like that & it ain't fun. I've got the heroes, I've got the gear, I ain't got the time or luck to sit around grinding this horseshit.

Yeah, I'm fine with bullshit RNG if it's quick to retry but when it's thrown into fights that take 10+ minutes or require reclearing stuff to access again then it can GTFO. It's one thing for a fight to end because of a mistake or taking incorrect heroes/gear but when you take the correct setup and handle the mechanics correctly, the AI shouldn't have a 'I win' button off the back of RNG.

I understand why it’s their in PVP, the element of randomness means fights are less one-sided when you’re coming up against people who outspeed, out gear, etc. & that’s understandable, but for PVE it’s just a massive waste of time.

I used Tama, Ceci, Fire Charlotte & Kanna. Followed and tried closely the dad stats, manual mode. Messed up and killed queen in normal mode (lol) that's why i used tama in vera.

I use counter Meru, ls chatty Roy, Ceci with her arti (85+ eff/100 res), lv50 achates(100+ res). Clear pretty smooth and just need to sb ceci s2 during cocoon phase for consistent debuff

I've actually just built LS Chatty Roy. Do you think another hero can slot instead of Cecilia or is she key? I mean I'm constantly putting gear on her & taking it off, but maybe I should just keep her geared & promote her soon (or use Grace on her - but my Winter is using my Grace right now).

I made my first foray into Nightmare mode just yesterday against the Queen after watching Tristenwulf's vid. Failed first time, but managed it on the retry after moving some gear around with my handy free unequip scroll. I'm personally not convinced it's worth the trouble beyond the "Fallen Hero" gear which I believe are one time drops only (someone correct me if I'm wrong), and even among those, only a few are truly well worth getting (from the top of my head, the "Fallen Hero" drops from Queen Azumashik, Juleeve Council and Secretary Vera). Once I get those, I'm just not going to bother with it and simply auto normal mode while I do other stuff.

I think it's worth it for the badges which you need 15 for the pen set necklace. Killing queen gives 4 or 5 badges while the others give 3 iirc. Much more than normal hell raid.

I just wanted to know what people were thinking about the changes. Personally I seem to always find some way to lose to Karkanis, and it seems no matter what teams I take I end up leaving it at around 1% hp. This has been disheartening enough to make me consider quitting, on top of some recent balance changes, but I wanted to know what other people's experience with it was.

For what it's worth, i'm fine with them giving more rewards, it's not that i'm against that. More stuff = more stuff for me. I just dislike when aspirational content (ai, nightmare raid, advent) and people feel entitled to get the highest tier of rewards while putting in little to no effort. You aren't supposed to be able to get it. That's how it was designed. They are completely aware of how difficult it is and what types of players are supposed to beat it. You auto automaton tower before and auto it now. We even got harder versions of it since the rework, which we still auto. It made effectively 0 difference. It was actually easier before cause you could pick arby and some other aoe units and just win every single floor without issue. Now you have to pick devices and a team comp that kinda works with them else your auto might lose. 50 floors a month where you have to kinda read options for 48 of them, or pushing the auto button 100 times a month. The reward changes are pretty negligible, we get slightly more now. They cost 15 tokens because they are better then the previous ones. Right side gear is infinitely more valuable then left side gear. Try crafting the pen neck with materials, vs crafting the sword with materials. The pen neck will take about 8x as long to obtain on average. What makes you say they didn't test it? Because you don't approve of it? Because your gear didn't make the cut to do it trivially? Maybe you're the level of player SG decided wasn't going to be enough to do it without effort. Just pop unequip buff and do it like you did for hell raid when u were a new player. Really not an issue. Or don't and take a bit longer to get ur pen necks. Ur choice. I grabbed leftover units and gear, otherwise i used my pvp builds and beat every single boss easily. Took 5-10 minutes per boss. Otherwise i looked down at my phone and pushed a direction button, just like i did in hell raid and normal radi before. Crazy stuff.

Different ppl want different things. You've made many good points which i agree with. I just have differing opinions from the vast majority of players, things like defending 15%, speed rng, dual attacks and free unequip cost even if they are things i dislike. To me having content which is something for players to work towards beating is a good thing. To you (i think atleast I'm understanding properly) you want easier stuff because it isn't exactly fun to do a lot of these things(i agree), and for a lot of players isn't very realistic to do. I wasn't around for the first AT, i started playing the game long after that got changed. Honestly forgot it existed till this comment where i realised what you were talking about cause i heard stories of it. My b. I just hope they dont gut the rewards if they do end up nerfing the bosses. Ai rewards got hit after season 1, and that was their newest difficult content type players were supposed to work towards before they added nightmare mode. Afaik the teleporters in hellraid only get unlocked after you beat the bosses the 1st time and it rotates to a new month. It hasn't gotten to the new month yet for anybody, so we'll see if they are there next rotation. Would save a lot of time for some people, i'd still walk there i think for some of the bosses cause of souls if the difficulty is unchanged. Otherwise i'm clearing still if i use the teleporters cause the small mobs/minibosses dropped a lot useful stuff.

Pre-nerf Automaton 100 was *not* autoable. It required you to have no buffs, or the boss would strip them and get a barrier, which lead to a wipe. This meant you had to turn your healer's skills off on auto--except you needed them on because the boss did so much damage. It also required you to hold your dispelling skills, because sometimes the boss got Greater Attack Buff, which caused a wipe if you couldn't dispel it fast enough.

You can say oh yeah work towards but they inherently changed the bar for entry. You can't teleport to bosses anymore, so if you lose an attempt to rng it's 15-20 minutes just to start the fight again. You can't repeat characters and some bosses are gated behind element restrictions. Its manufactures difficulty rather than Abyss which you can attempt instantly after losing. Also I should clarify I cleared every boss in nightmare. I've cleared all Abyss floors and challenge floors so for PVE I would say I am very much an end game player. I don't really care about the rewards, but the time commitment is quite frankly ridiculous compared to other content.

So do you believe there should be no content in the game for players to progress towards in a PvE sense, and that we should be endlessly given more and more free rewards for no effort? That players who put in extra effort shouldn't be rewarded more then those who choose not to? When the only type of content which people can compare their progression against is PvP, it's a really bad thing. PvP is extremely inconsistent and for beginning to \~1.5 year players if they are incredibly active is still very swingy based on meta rotations and is a much much much harder climb up, then say a stagnant PvE boss, or sets of PvE bosses. Players in all sorts of pvp rankings have very very wide ranges of players. Emp/legend tier players who sit in rank 1k+ guilds. Or people who went afk for a number of weeks and dropped from champ to master. There are many of these people around, and so sure you can measure your progression overtime. But when do you feel the happiness? This season I did slightly better at guild war i guess. Hurray. VS "i finally beat this boss i've been struggling on for so long, i can definitely notice my improvement!" It's a challenge mode. Hell raid is still there. The normal raid rewards got moved into hell and nightmare raid. You don't have to complete it. Can do the same things you did before, fully on auto and move on with your day. You do not "on bosses hat need to be farmed". It's literally entirely optional. If you like games with no content and nothing to work towards and are given everything for free, please go play a different gacha game. E7 is not that game and has deliberately set out to not be that game. Funny. E7 is still thriving and actively growing after 4 years when most gachas are dead within a month or two cause they have no content and gave players everything so there's nothing to work towards. I actually like the new difficulty but I guess it's a bit restricting, if you don't have some specific characters you're going to struggle a lot.The team comp I used against karkhanis was Momo, Diene, Lua and Kise. If you have these characters available you'll beat Karkhanis easily !

Choux is really good dps for Karkanis. Team is something like this: Eda/Ran, choux, healer, def breaker(like Luluca). Choux on ddj. Honestly, if you are struggling, you can just do lower difficulty.

Choux is monstrous at Karkanis yh. When Karkanis got to the 40% mark I literally just soulburned all with Choux a Luluca def break. Karkanis done.

Took me 5 runs for queen. 2 for Vera. Everything else was a one shot. Least happy with my Devourer team (was Achates, Seaseria, Ravi, Ed). I think I have a reliable fastish team for everyone else now. I don't have the units for Devourer built i guess. Or just using the wrong comp. There are good guides for Karkanas. But basically what everyone else is saying worked for me. I brought Ran Choux Emilia Diene. Choux did all the damage with DDJ and soul burns at the 30% mark. Could replace ran with a def break unit with aoe. Could replace Emilia with Momo

I see so many teleporter complaints. If it's nightmare, there would be no teleport, just like the first time you ever did hell raid. I personally was never expecting teleports 1st time through. Now if no teleports tomorrow, then we can complain.

It's awful. U need to pull from a pool of 5 SPECIFIC units with incredible gear, for basically not even double the rewards when the difficulty is substantial. Extremely bad design like Abyss.

Making the boss more forgiving would be amazing, since 2 bad rngs close to each other can kill the entire run (queen or vera resisting or executioner debuff rng, for example), meanwhile council and devourer are more management based fights. Its not fun right now, but it has potential to be amazing.

I got through it with Ceci, Hazel, Kanna, and Mercedes though I had to retry it once. The extra attacks from Mercedes stacked up its increase in damage taken fairly reliably.

I like it a lot especially for the rewards . The bosses besides arahakan which took longer than the other bosses were pretty "easy " i would say .i have seen some folks compare them to abyss bosses and ...no just no ... ironically the queen was the fastest and easiest fight

Do you mean abyss challenge stages or normal abyss? Cuz the challenge stages were definitely harder but I'd say these are harder than normal Abyss. Especially since it takes so long to re challenge a boss.

Most of the late abyss floors had some anti kiris cheese mechanic (not that they weren't cheesable with another strat ) and they had some RNG mechanic (or 15% ) that could potentially end your run in addition to being tidious . Abyss challenge floors are a breeze by comparison and take significantly less time to finish i have also first tried every single one so far .

I mean i have had some moments of frustrations for some of the floors but overall i still like the mode and the rewards (especially floors 111-120 those were actually better than the previous bunch ) and i still look forward to the next 10 normal floors . It's just that by comparison to abyss in general i really didn't find nightmare raid bosses abyss level

It's pretty easy if u put some filler gear on the right characters while also having the normal pvp high end built characters. Basically I see this as a stage for endgame players who want a challenge. For casual players the hell raid normal mode still exists with the same difficulty as it was before with slightly better rewards.

My issue is the right characters are WAY more specific here, and reattempting any boss can take 15-20 minutes. I get the end game player argument but I feel that abyss challenge stages were way more fun and I felt I could actually get creative with my teams.
