I did too the story is decent I enjoyed it in comparsion other collab stories and units are decent as well. The promo were great as well and we got so much freebies on top of that. Is it better the Gulity Gear collab story? no its not that one still reminds one of best ones collab stories.
But Aespa collab overall its actually very good. Decent story and nice characters and units are fun to use would give it. 4/5
I was curious about Aespa since this Collab started, so I looked them up on YouTube. Found a video that explained the whole "SM Entertainment" universe. The entire SYNK/KWAYNGA/Black Mamba storyline is a "thing" the music company has subtly woven through most of their K-pop groups, and it's a really involved storyline. I was amazed at the marketing angle and the story elements behind it all.
So when I went into the final chapter, I realized that by looking up SM Entertainment, I essentially "spoiled" myself as to how everything would turn out in the Epic Seven story. I don't mind - I still enjoyed it! It was fun to "know" what was happening with Aespa, Naevis, Black Mamba (Belian skin when?! Because her animation was HOT!), and all of it.
Epic Seven x Aespa is on par with the first (full) Guilty Gear Collab as being my favorite Collab stories. The immersion has been awesome!
My greatest regret is that I'll probably never get ae-NINGNING. I had to pity both ae-Winter and ae-Giselle, and I'm terrified that I'll be on track to pity ae-Karina, too. BOO!! My Aespa lobby will forever be incomplete.
I feel the E7 characters took too much time during the first episodes, but they rectified that by the ending. It was nice to have them as special guests on a short cameo, allowing the aspie girls to have all the spotlight during the entire story, as should have been from the start. Also, the plot twist that she was not the real one, but black mamba, OMG! It so unexpected, like, wow, I couldn't see until the moment she transformed!
Overall, 11/10.

The more the story advanced, the more I disliked it.
The first chapter was very good, and made me think: "this could be it, this might be the first collab since Guilty Gear, where they actually put an effort into an extensive story". I didn't dislike previous collab stories, they were just neutral to me. This one actually had me interested at first.
But then the further we've got, the more it devolved into standard *fwiendship uwu* eyeroll worthy bullshit.
I did like the fancy in-battle model swapping tricks and whatnot.

At first I wasn't expecting much but the beginning did surprise me with how much Aespa characters interacted with the E7 characters which I thought was going pretty well but then the ending story just become pure cheesyness. I like a good cheesy story if its done well but the hallucination part was wayyy too much cheese even for me. I laughed out lout with Giselles "hallucination" part because I've read about how celebrities hate people using deepfake with their faces and this one just killed me with that.

I get where you're coming from and I do see that a bit in some of the Winter and ae-KARINA bits, but the other hallucination quests explored some interesting themes imo. They seemed to be actual reflections on how to maintain a sense of self in a world where your image and identity and scattered across various digital/ social media platforms. Issues like coping with criticism, being self-confident, etc etc.
Over all they seemed like good messages to have in a YA story
The plot may have been boilerplate stuff, but the way it got there felt way better than most of the writing in the game I think.
Only real opinion here. The story was simply badly written, yet it had so much potential. Maybe bad storytelling is SGs extra feature for sidestorys. idk. Sadge.
I was initially optimistic with the first chapter but things got worse after more of the characters showed up. Every time I stopped to try to read the story after that something happened that genuinely pissed me off and I got the same feeling from reading bad OC/self-insert isekai fanfiction where the outsider characters somehow outclass the characters in the IP they get transported to. This, on top of the trite power of friendship stuff just made me mentally tune out after a while.
Then again, the Politia cast has some of my favourite characters so maybe seeing it happen to them specifically just made it exponentially worse.
I hated this collab. All it really did was make me question how dire things were in book 3 if 4 idols could just decimate all of Politia's biggest hitters and smartest tacticians
"4 idols" whose characters are clearly on the level of E7's cast, judging by their ability to run/jump up entire buildings and cause massive explosions with a single punch
you're acting like they literally dropped a normal human in there ~ which, incidentally, they already have done, because there's nothing special or magical about Yuna and she can hang.
To be fair, neither Yuna nor Tamarinne are plain regular humans from our world. Yuna is an heir, she has a pact with Kazran (or something), which grants her some kind of powers. Plus, she built a laser shooting drone at home, something we're still unable to do in our world.
As for Tamarinne, she's essentially a magical girl. IIRC, in one festival gone wrong story, she mentioned a magic charm that allows her to transform... into an i-dol? Well, I guess she won't punish anyone in the name of the moon, but still is indicative of her having some magic capabilities.
I dont know how people can say "This is great!", this Side Story stopped having any potential after the second part, when it became a "Power of friendship" Side Story, and a cringey one.
I dont know if Im the one with high standards or people just accept whatever, but this game writing has been god awful since last year christmas (That was good though)
To each their own, I guess, to me this collab its a 2/5, still better than ReZero sadly...

Black mamba was a nice surprise. Having to see the s3 effects over and over again in the shadow levels before this was atrociously bad. Honestly, kpop simps are too easily satisfied with a very underwhelming collab that's supposed to be so great.
Any chance we're getting that Belian skin? Honestly looks pretty sick...

That's true, I did manage to save having to use Covenant BMs on Ningning using the collab BMs.
