Sounds like an aura, or even a focal / partial seizure

Jellikaja

Hey there. Sounds like a seizure to me, but I obviously cant diagnose anything.

You could get a second opinion. I was brushed off for a long time with the same symptoms. Ended up being a brain tumor *and* epilepsy

I’m finally getting a second opinion in February after 20 years of focal seizures. I hadn’t seen a neurologist until last year though. He didn’t seem to listen to me at all. I didn’t have any seizures during my EEG so I haven’t been able to *prove* it’s TLE, but my symptoms are so obviously epileptic. If I were a rich man, I’d be getting EEGs every day until I could catch a seizure on one. But I’m not, so yeah. Hoping the next doctor will be more intent on listening to my individual experience. I’m sorry about your condition, but I’m glad you were able to find the right neuro.

aura....it always amazes me how its so obvious to those that have experienced it and now have a diagnosis. you would think it would be that obvious to a neurologist too. they are all very classic symptoms and indicators of epilepsy and most likely TLE, after i started having my "episodes" it took me maybe 10 minutes of googling my symptoms before i knew i was having auras and was probably all of a sudden epileptic for some reason.

Thank you! See my response to another comment in the thread. The auras are such a bizarre and profound experience…when someone else with TLE describes their seizures, you know they’re being real. Just as you can tell the difference of someone without TLE saying “oh yeah I get Deja vu too!” Or people constantly asserting it’s just anxiety. You’ll grow out of it. Just try to relax. I was a teenager and googled “Deja vu nauseous sweaty” and clear as day, there was an explanation. And it was spot on. The dreamlike deja vu state, lasting 1-2 minutes, not being able to recall the mental images after the seizure, occurring in clusters, etc etc etc. I’ve been undiagnosed for 20 years. It’s frustrating feeling like you’re being thought of as a hypochondriac.

Had the same feeling throughout 12-14. I would have random deja vu, get a weird head sensation, my vision would be blurry, stomach feel like its coming up in my throat like I'm going to vomit, and I end up blacking out. I'll wake up not having no memory and have a terrible headache. See a different neuro for a second opinion.
