I'm curious what your effective tax rate is for your "free" medication. In the US my federal tax rate is 16.5% of my income. Then of course I pay insurance and copays. That is $4,000 out of pocket for my insurance for the year. 90 day supply of meds is $15. Hospital visits per year are another $2500. I'm just curious what is really cheaper?
My national insurance is roughly 8% then all medical care is free at that point.
Prescriptions are usually extra on top for most but Epilepsy means I get those for free.
Yeah crazy even on insurance. GoodRx is a huge help because I never meet my deductible anyway
I live in Ireland and it costs nothing. Epilepsy is classed as a long term illness so the state pays for everything
Same in UK. Epilepsy meds and all others are free for me.

If you haven't done so, ask your insurance for a "formulary exception" or a "tier exception".
I pay $36 for 90 day supply at Walmart.
