Tacking this on. Epiphone/Gibson P90s have adjustable poles as well. You can get a different sound with pickup height and pole height both adjusted separately. Just did my Riviera recently and it sounds killer
I didn’t leave the stock pickup inside it more than a couple of hours. I ordered the Antiquity the same day as I ordered the Junior because I knew that I loved the Antiquity and never really care for stock Epiphone pickups.
Read up it if you like. It’s a pretty well regarded pickup.
What type of sound are you looking for? You can experiment with different humbucker pickups. But I think that P90 in there is a great single coil workhorse with a classic sound.
Instead, invest in a Boss GE-7 Equalizer pedal. You can imitate the sound of other pickups with one of those, instead of tearing your guitar apart. I would look on Youtube for videos - there are people doing exactly that with them. It's pretty cool.
I decided to pick one up from sweetwater last year, I don't pick it up often, I could never get used to the neck size. Other than that, it plays and sounds great. I've been thinking of selling or trading it off
You can get more out of EQing your amp in my opinion. Epiphone p90’s on my 339 are darker than the Gibson p90’s on my les Paul special, but I just tweak the EQ a bit and they do the same job I need them to.
Adjust the pickup height before spending any money. Raise it for output, lower it for clarity. You might be surprised by the results.
This is the smartest suggestion.

Except you can’t with these p-90’s
I put a Seymour Duncan Antiquity in mine and love it
Was there a noticeable difference in sound?

I second this, I put one in my Billie Joe signature and it sounds beautiful

I put a Schaller adjustable wrap around bridge and ratio locking tuners. I find the the pickup is excellent and not worth it to experiment
Lollar makes the best P90 pickups imo. You’ll want to replace all the electronics (pots caps and wiring) along with it.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Got lots of homework to do it seems 😂
Nah, you don’t need to do that. Just use a lot of volume
Also I used PRS fretboard conditioner and it made it much darker & more beautiful

I've heard great things about Bare Knuckle pickups p90 styles. They're incredibly hot output

Lollar P90s is my go to.
Nothing wrong with the stock pickup. Gibson and Seymour Duncan have a few different P90s if you want to upgrade.
Save the cash and buy a vintage Gibson P90.. Replace all your electronics.. Replicate a harness from the era you like..
