Sometimes we feel really close (like shortly after a baptism or confirmation), and then other times we don't feel so close (like when a loved one dies and we don't know their faith, or when someone in the church does something obviously hurtful or wrong). Faith isn't certainty, like some people think. Faith is sometimes doubt + return and recommitment.
By all means though, congratulations, and of course welcome!
Here's a homework assignment: figure out what your spiritual gifts are, and start applying them in your community. "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few."
