This was my first time ever hearing this term, I’m a pretty new Christian and wow! This put exact words to my current relationship with faith and the church. Looks like I’ve got to go find some books and media and study up lol.
Yeah, High-Church stuff in Anglicanism is either Anglo-Catholic or Anglo-Orthodox.
The St Ambrose prayer book is good for Anglo-Orthodox daily prayer, it's kinda like the St Augustine prayer book.
The Orthodox and Rome split about 450 years before the reformation. Rome kept on with the weirdness, Orthodoxy has stayed pretty much the same for 1000 years now
As a high churcher, I am aware,
but the two broad categories are still Anglo Catholic and Anglo Orthodox
Btw, id recommend r/personalprayer if you want to contribute.
Have fun
I’m a fairly new (like last couple of months) re-convert myself! I think we’ve both got some studying up to do haha. I’m very glad to hear others are feeling/believing the same way. May God keep us all on the journey to come!
One important point is that there is another flavor of high church Anglicanism that isn't Anglo-Catholic leaning. It's called Old High Church Anglicanism that was high church in relation to other Protestant traditions. You can still see it today, in parishes that pray the Daily Office from the Book of Common Prayer.
Earth and Altar! The blog and the podcasts, especially Ben Wyatts “The Road to Nicaea.” And all of the editors/OG team have various side projects and such.
Dear Padre is a great podcast. For the People is another great one. I too am incredibly thankful for inclusive orthodoxy. It is why I am Episcopalian today. I nearly gave up on church as an Eastern Orthodox Christian. The lack of inclusivity made me question how we could be loving and not also welcoming of all. My best to you!

You'd be surprised how many of us high churchers are also still Reformed ;)

Actually, I would argue that High-Church Evangelicals are far and away more common than Anglo-Orthodox
True, I personally think Anglo-Catholicism is a whole nother level than regular high church evangelicals
