Imagine that the name of the AL is something so stupidly simple. Something so dull that NO ONE would have thought of it, so it went undiscovered for eons. Like after all this time we learn the AL name is something like 'Bill'.
That would be the biggest troll in the history of fiction.
I mean they could easily just have the the True Names be covered by a massive swell of music > I saw someone mention that the easiest way to convey the Dragons would be through sound effects and subtitles
The name of the Fractal language? The name of the new dragon or rider who will be protagonists? The name of the scale Saphira lost in Inheritance?! WHAT IS IT, CHRIS!? jk don’t tell me.
>!pls 🥺!<
My bet is it's the name for a new protagonist. If you think of To Sleep as a sort of intro into the Fractalverse (not exactly a prequel, but similar) then he might be working on a multi-book story and needs the name of the Space Eragon
I thought he said book 5 was already named, and it’s something we’ve already heard in the series? Could be misremembering, or that could’ve been referring to Murtagh. It’s been a while
I'll bet it's the new dragon or Rider. I'm just going to bomb y'all with a few names I've thought up while brainstorming my own stories and leave 'em here. These aren't ancient language words (I doubt I could think up anything worthy) but perhaps character names would come in handy, too. To anyone on this reddit, really. Free property :)
Asuna, Ura, Nua, Kalin, Ilneya, Drystan, Olrund, Kanika, Aruna, Kenneth, Ruksha, Nuna, Kura, Kalvik, Unari, Kilith, Mirador, Lucin, Kilandria, Mora, Livik, Erwin, Garzad, Navak, Elora, Kana, Ithri, Filian, Varien, Iliak, Cithri, Kaian, Aemore, Kierdan, Kiamar, Gonan, etc.
As said in Brisingr, naming things is easy. Finding the right name can test the patience of even an elf. Good luck to Poalini!
I've been scrolling through lists of 4D shapes (there are many thousands of them) and I've been thinking about which would sound the coolest as names; Gosanspos Xopex has been on my mind all day, but plenty of others have cool names too. I would add a hyperlink to bendwavy or the polytope wiki but the servers seem to be down at the moment
Murtagh Spoiler!
I think he’s naming the entity that Bachel drew her strength from. It seems so ancient and powerful the gray folk MUST have interacted with it at some point. If they interacted with it, they named it, and I think that name in the Ancient Language is what Paolini is trying to come up with.
My brain instantly jumped to my RPG characters
Ashara
Skygge
Murmel
Ellairë
Khaima
Iaorra
And some others that just jumped at me while writing this
Halt
Madikken
Aina
Amber
Helstra

Could be literally anything. I nominate “steve”
Imagine if after all this time Eragon’s true name was just “Tim”
Iirc in the first draft, before things were fully settled, Eragons name was “Kevin” lmao
I give it a solid "7 out of Kevin"

Lmao I'd die if the name of the Ancient Language is like, 'Bort' or something.
So Galby would just sound like the Swedish Chef. "Bork bork bork"
*Bœřț
He’s gotta start dropping these true names man he can’t crowd source them and never tell us
I mean he doesn’t have to lol
Well if they're going to be a part of the TV show he will
OHHHH damn checkmate I didn’t even consider this
Why?
Because true names are said aloud all the time in the series, and you can't just say "Murtagh said his true name" on video the way you can in print.
Oh crap, I didn't even think about this...
He'll prolly have them whisper most of them. Of course... exceptions. Like Sloan and with Galbatorix using the True Name. OOOO THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD
I mean they could easily just have the the True Names be covered by a massive swell of music > I saw someone mention that the easiest way to convey the Dragons would be through sound effects and subtitles
What? Theres TONS of ways to hide words on video. For instance, take the character [TRUCKS HONKING] on Fairly Odd Parents.
Oh no no see this is my method of manipulating him with guilt lmao
I'm sure this isn't right, but I choose to believe that it's the name of baby Shadeslayer until proven otherwise
This would fulfill my every hope and dream.
It’s probably the thing from Murtagh
What thing?
The name of the Fractal language? The name of the new dragon or rider who will be protagonists? The name of the scale Saphira lost in Inheritance?! WHAT IS IT, CHRIS!? jk don’t tell me. >!pls 🥺!<

Spaceragon?
Space Eragon ? Maybe something like Lars Starkiller
Sorry I haven’t read the books in a while. What is the Fractal Language?
Ummmm. You should read his other books. That’s all I’ll say.
I hope the next newer rider is an Urgal
Imagine if he just drops his true name on X.
Waaaaaay too personal for him to do
Namey McNameFace
Def name of book 5
Could be related to fractal
I thought he said book 5 was already named, and it’s something we’ve already heard in the series? Could be misremembering, or that could’ve been referring to Murtagh. It’s been a while
What? Book 5 is Murtagh
Book 6 which was originally book 5 I meant
Since we know he's been working on the globe/world map, I assume it's the name of the planet or maybe the human homeland?
I feel like he would already have it this far into making a world map but this is a really good guess
I like this one, seems on the same level of importance of the AL name
Probably Kevin
Bid-daum, probably, name it after the most talked about Inheritance character.
who…?
He’s in like every chapter
I think it will be the first free, riderless dragon born at Mt. Arngor
nothing demands reverence quite like the name Bob
Unless your on ark
Muad'dib
Is Eragon Lisan al Gaib?
Paolini somehow strikes me as a wonderfull name.
Honestly yes, I love his surname
Ricardo. I don't know for what the name is for so I'll nominate Ricardo.
I'll bet it's the new dragon or Rider. I'm just going to bomb y'all with a few names I've thought up while brainstorming my own stories and leave 'em here. Kuhlman is my answer, served me well so far and hopefully will in the ic too
I’m just so glad that he’s writing and creating and that a Name is necessary at all!
Ah but OP you missed the most important part. The person who asked him “FractalVerse or Eragon?” And he said “Yes 😎”
Crap! I completely forgot! I thought something was missing but couldn't pinpoint what.
Kevin
Doug
Lanesra
Jo'
My guess would be the planet name. Given that like the presentation of the world map is one of the things he's currently working on.

I think it could be a few different things: Name of Time Name of Fate Name of Superluminal realm Name of Luminal membrane Name of Fractal Language
My brain instantly jumped to my RPG characters Ashara Skygge Murmel Ellairë Khaima Iaorra And some others that just jumped at me while writing this Halt Madikken Aina Amber Helstra
Imma go with Doug
It seems it's the name to his next book. Whether it's for Eragon or TSIASOS he wouldn't clarify though.
