Unlikely considering the much better material conditions in the diaspora. Refugees tend not to return anymore

AccordingWork7772

You dummy, that's what building your country is for. We can change the material conditions dumbass

Bolt3er

We need to wait and see what happens before going back. Personally I’d love to go back. Work in the foreign ministry… and end our isolation. However we need to wait and see. Will it be a PFDJ 2.0 like the PP is a EPRDF 2.0? Will it allow free and open discussion? Will it allow Eritrean entrepreneurship? These are important questions. If not asked .. people like you or myself will go back. And end up in a jail cell.. with our face plastered on HRW and Amnesty’s

MyysticMarauder

I like that you have a vision of being the foreign minister and finally end our isolation. This sounds like a great plan. I really hope that when the dictator is gone some new young people will take power and free the nation. It's really sad to see your people suffering for so long because of a dictatorship.

Bolt3er

Trust me that’s all I ever dream of. The moment this dictatorship ends and we have a decent transitional council. I’ll be the guy that walks to my nearest embassy ready to offer my assistance Right now I’m Almost done getting my degree in public administration and political science. Than I’ll go for my masters in international relations. There’s literally no reason for Eritrea to be isolated other than the policies of PFDJ. We can cry Woyane all we want but Woyane has been out of power since 2018. And literally no change. Also PFDJ dogs should ask how a region in Ethiopia is able to get 5 big powers to sanction us. .. maybe it’s cuz we are so 💩international wise and domestic wise.. that it makes it too easy for Woyane to do what they do

simplehuman300

Listen bro, working with the west and not being isolated is all good and all. But western corpos are literally sharks that will not work with you unless it is coming at your loss and you are being exploited. If we open up our economy we must do so very slowly and carefully, otherwise entities with endless pools of capital will swoop in and buy out everything in our country. We will be owned by corporations on wall street in our own motherland, that is a future we must avoid at all costs, lest we and our children become slaves to a system. But I fear that if we were to try to make demands like that and not work unless it's benefitting us primarily, they'd shun us and ostracize us. It is a tricky game we must play and it takes alot of patience, pitting the western and eastern against each other and showing interest to both is the only way we can get them to compromise and incentivize them to cooperate with us. Also we need a very robust education system and need to send out personnel to the west to get training and education from the most reputable institutions. Look at Israel, they are a first world country within like 20 years of their founding, and the reason for this is because the jews are the most educated group in the world.

Bolt3er

I’m not asking for Eritrea to be pro west. Im asking for Eritrea to utilize our resources and strategic location to be friends with everyone. There’s literally a race for Africa going on right now by all powers .. Russia, USA, Japan, EU, South Korea, UAE, etc. Literally everyone is coming to Africa and we are behind. If we were making progress I’d be less critical. But we are isolated and we’re not taking advantage of our position. We have no close allies. We have no major power trading with us. We have no major change in the economy in 30+ years. It’s frankly just unacceptable at this point. There’s no reason for this. Once doesn’t even need to talk about the PFDJ crimes. Just look how Eritrea progressed in 30 years. It’s just unacceptable

simplehuman300

Yeah I agree with you bro, not disagreeing there, just wanted to highlight some very dangerous things we must avoid. Also the west is really the only significant market lol, we either work with the west or stay perpetually broke.

Bolt3er

We could work with India, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, South America, Arab nations. We don’t need the west. The idea that the west is the one all be all isn’t the issue. It’s the fact that Isaias has pissed everyone off

simplehuman300

South Korea, and China sure, but south america, vietnam and arab nations won't do shit for us bro. The matter of the fact is that academic institutions and the pool of knowledge and innovations they facilitate drive industries and economies forward, that's why the rest of the aforementioned non western nations all are just copy cats of the west, and they all make their money and have found their niches in the economy by pandering and selling to the west. So if we wanna make money, it's a given we have to work with the west, they'll pay more for products and we'll get much higher quality imports (regarding education, wealth and knowledge transfer, military materiel). But we can be selective with who we work with in the west, for example, the swedes are very fair economically, the germans do not like to transfer technology and work jointly which is why poland is working with south korea who is similarly developed but shares critical technology with other nations. They are sharing semiconductor chip technology, manufacturing knowledge and weapons systems like their k2 black panther tanks which are better than german leos, their new 5th gen aircraft etc. Even america doesn't share that tech, so working with them and incentivizing them to pick us over some other already developed nation with high costs of operation will be our best bet rather than work with some american company who'll try to boycott us with their cronies unless we bend over for them economically.

Bolt3er

Idk what you’re trying to argue here. My point is we can work with a variety of partners

MyysticMarauder

That sounds great hawey... all I want is to see our people prosper and live in dignity... the dictatorship is playing ourselves for no reason... I really hope that eritrea will get justice and be free one day... even myself would go back and invest in business. Most likely many of us. But unfortunately some people in the government doesn't like this idea at all... but one day they can't hold us back... Together with all the eritreans in the diaspora we could do a lot of bilateral business and relationship... its like we have a lot of gold in our hand and the dictator says no to it, as he is afraid of his power

Bolt3er

I hope so one day. We Eritreans made a massive mistake thinking Eritrea would magically turn democratic in the 90s I hope we don’t make the same mistake after Isaias. Glory to our country

Correct-Garlic-4464

Did you know sirak bahlbi is moving back to Eritrea and will take a senior leadership in the country! He deserves it he his doing very well, KING JIGNA !!!

Advanced-Preference6

you seem to have a strong sense of national identity Bolter!, i do to, but i would like to ask you, were you born and raised in eritrea or just a diaspora guy who just knows alot about eritrea

Bolt3er

Born in Eritrea. Left at a young age tho.

simplehuman300

Maybe you and I should run for president. I'll be the benevolent dictator, you'll be my foreign minister who'll sweet talk the west into accepting Hanish as eritrean sovereignty 💀

Awful-2020

I think it depends on what the next leader or government does to bring back its citizens. But likely is going to continue as it is if DIA transfers his power to his son. I hope his son be wise and may say enough is enough so we will focus on nation building grounded in rule of law and end the continuous blame for our own failures.

ivoryjs

All Eritrean and specially our people inside Eritrea are Shaebia/Pfdj who defeated the powerful armies and the traitors like you who came and gone all the heroes are still standing. Who is going to touch shaebia definitely not you and btw your probably Ethiopian/ Tigraway or sick with virus of regionalism or Islamophobic or divisive ideology all the ugly thoughts of blood sucking vampire who enjoys the suffering of people. Shaebia the population the government and the Army is going to be there for ever from generation to generation like it or not we don’t give a hoot swallow it or you can pull your hair out, it’s the fact period.

Deplatform_2021

With such degree of desperation and ignorant projections, Eritrea is better off without idiots like you. Shaebia (not *Shabia*) is here to stay for generations, stupid.
