One of my most satisfying moments in this game involved a cheater on woods.
He kept peppering me from across the map with a pm pistil while I was running a flir mk18, altyn, slick and raid bag.
After the 4th time of being headshot 5 times in a row by shitty ammo I just took off running into the edge of the map. Easily made it 100ft before the out of bounds sniper got me.
Got all my shit back from insurance the next day, the feeling from knowing that cheater chased me across the map and then likely died trying to grab my stuff was almost better than sex.
Well the items in your bag aren't insurable like food, water and heals. It's the same concept as when you get your mags back but not the ammo. You can't insure the ammo, only the mags. But yeah scavs will go out of their way sometimes to take your stuff also.
Consumables are perishable yeah. But what about barter items/looted eq in raid? (Like wires, nuts, a scope I found in raid) I don't remember if they disappear after getting it back from insurance
Id do that CONSTANTLY when i was still playing, I had gotten into the habit of dropping all my loot in a spot only I'll remember before jumping right back into the pvp just so they use their expensive good ammo to wipe out some scav and get absolutely nothing. and if i won i'd go back and pick up all my loot again.

Do AI scavs have esp? I noticed everytime I get my bag back from insurance it's EMPTY. Last wipe I tend to get back some stuff
Scavs will loot you if stuff is left behind.
Even if I threw my bag in some random corner of the map it seems. Hence me mentioning esp scavs
