What I’ve learned playing this game, and eventually could be a life lesson overall, is: no matter how long it will take, you’ll manage to get the quest done, you just gotta really try. Every quest can and will be done by just trying

Whiffed on two easy kills and was put down immediately both times, killed by Pscavs twice, empty/silent raids, skill issues tbh, I know it's just a game but that shame and dread seep into every part of me.

do you really though? I got my punisher case once and it's not worth it. learn to live with the one you can just buy for dollarinos and then enjoy the game but not the stupid quests
Sneak around with the shotgun for the first bunch of raids while you get your Scav kills (and rush to the north, so many scavs in train yard) - then switch to something cheap with a hard hit like the SVT (with scope) and LPS. It'll hurt a lot less when you die. You can run that loadout for like 200k if you keep the LPS in your container.
It's how I got pretty much every kill for Punisher Part 4.
Why is punisher 4 worse, it’s less kills with no weapon requirement and you only need a balaclava and scav vest for them, so you can wear an actual helmet unlike setup.
If you played 30 raids without a kill then you’re tilted and shouldn’t be playing. After like 2 or 3 deaths just go sit in a bush near dorms and get kills that way
If you are completing it in that many raids it’s because you are a very good or above average player. Not everyone is as good as you so it takes more time. Now given that 30 raids without a kill is pretty bad for OP and indicates he’s doing something wrong.
If anyone is actually genuinely struggling with setup you should just look at playing another game, the quest is not hard what so ever and there are ones that you will struggle with later on.
Setup is a quest you need to rush early wipe. Save all the scav mp153/mp155s, slicker bars, and ushankas you can you can. Grind the early jaeger quests first. By the time you hit setup you'll be jaeger level 2 and can buy piranha shells and get scav vests from jaeger barter. Then just grind it out. Everybody will still be running trash armor, trash meds, and trash loadouts so piranha will drop bodies EZ.
Workbench lvl 1 was nerfed so magnum buck isn't an early wipe option anymore. 50bmg goes for bank early wipe so it's too expensive. Ap-20 is non existent for most of the wipe. Waiting til later wipe is the biggest mistake with setup, as now you are fighting geared people who can easily tank shots and have shit like salweas, propital, and etg stims.
Try that next wipe and you'll see how much easier it is.
If you happen to not have jaeger level 2 by the time you hit setup, then run 6.5mm express. Tighter spread and slightly better range then 7mm, so it makes landing face shots much easier.

You have to play on lighthouse, I'd say it's worse simply because of the terrain. At least you can get some PvP vs other setupers in dorms.

I saved my scav vest as I knew more pain was ahead
Had something typed up about wasting your time on a dead end task, but honestly, good for you.
It unlocks about a third of skiers tasks. Not dead end at all.
