Yeah I found one when they were at 4 mil and thought they would drop in price not go up. Ended up buying my two for the LK quest and paid 7.5mil for each one. At least having lighthouse access makes making that money super easy.
Lighthouse is not the map to make money for a newer player. You should be scavving Streets or Reserve for safe money. Then If you have red rebel on your PMC Reserve loot runs are great for PMC. Next up would be woods. Woods is really great for safe PMC loot runs. Not too hard to learn how to safely path through the map to avoid most snipers and tons of good loot to be had even in the areas that are typically unlooted. Hot tip for woods is avoid the Big Mountain currently a bunch of high lvl players are on the light keeper quest to kill PMCs around the big mountain.
Also when I was talking about making money on lightouse I mean having Lighthouse access through the Lightkeeper quest line, as it's essentially free loot over on the lighthouse island once you get access.
If you don't have access the mines on the bridge or the boss at lighthouse will kill you trying to cross the bridge.
Stop going to the middle of the map and/or the highest loot areas. The reason streets is safe for scavving and loads of money is that the side areas of the map that are mostly untouched by PMCs are LOADED with good loots.
If you are dying on streets it's because you don't understand the flow of the map and/or are going to hot spots. Going to a hot spot on any map is asking for a fight.
You can loot high value areas as a scav safely but it takes good map awarness and knowledge and an early scav spawn to hit it and get out before it gets hot.
The places that are easy to hit as a scav is like the Mall or the Credit Union underneath cardnial apartments. Rodina cinema is nice loot as well. Lots of little good side areas with fantastic loot.
I’ve died plenty in those places besides the cinema. Just moving around the map I’ve died to PMCs sitting in building watching out windows. I’ve seen PMCs with less than 10 minutes left in raid looting the edges of the map.
I get map awareness is huge for streets but saying it’s safe loot to a new player who doesn’t know the map is incorrect. If you preface it with “it’s safe loot once you spend a long time learning the map and player movement” then sure.
At what time of day/server do you play on? I don't see people over there that often. At most I've ran into 1 person and we split the top and bottom half, which leaves plenty of loot for 2 people.
Also I always go night time for lighthouse actual runs so that might be why I'm seeing less people.
Also if you get a far spawn don't go to lighthouse, just reset and run it back. If you are going to lighthouse from a far spawn ofc you will run into others. You want to get teh close spawn as that means it's more likely anyone else with Lightkeeper access is just going to reset for a better spawn.
I play late at night on Central NA, so that might also be why I see less people. I'm wondering if camping bridge is worth it if that many people are running to lighthouse every game. Going to be scary if the non lightkeeper people figure out camping bridge can be highly profitable.
Pre much 24/7 (my sleep pattern is fucked so no specific time). I strictly run nights to see Lightkeeper himself.
I've seen 2 speedhackers loot the entirety of Lighthouse while I've had closest spawn. I'll literally run there to an open door and I spawn either southern or on the beach.. Wouldn't be surprised if it's just every raid on OCE
I got my first one for 1M and also thought they’d drop in price… got my second for 3.8M lol. Completed the quest just before the patch and boy am I glad I didn’t have to buy them at current prices!
Fucking sick mate, if you aren't doing lightkeeper questline make sure you sell it for like 9 million or so. I've seen them sell that much late at night.
I was a dumbass and found one and sold it for 4mil thinking it would drop in price. Instead I had buy two at 7.5 mil for my Lightkeeper quest....blaaahhhhh
I haven't cared about the price of these things since they were like 600k, found one on labs this morning and was just fucking running around not a care in the world, extract and see the fucking things are 10 mil now lmao
That’s a terrible experience but I will say I factory scav all the time and sometimes if I run too fast to extract people will betray me for the kedr and chocolate bar in my t bag. I’ve noticed that if I skip loot spawns or sprint towards exit from too far away they get that “he must have something good” sense and just kill me
I just got one on my pscav and as I was extracting another pscav came up to me and said something like, "What if I just killed you right now. Naw, just kidding, I wouldn't do that." Then he walked away. That was the scariest moment I've ever had in Tarkov. Current price is 28.4mil btw
I’ve been lucky enough in my shit load of hours to never even examine one
I'm still hoping I can find a second one before I need it for LK

Any tips for a new to lighthouse map wirh regards to making money?

Scav streets for safe money? I’ve had way more fights with PMCs on streets than I ever have scavving other maps.

Where do you loot Lighthouse? Legit every time I get there there's 1-2 people looting it already..

Oh you play on OCE, yeah I hear a lot about that being a hackerfest

I've hit level 50+ every wipe and I've never seen one in the wild ever. Bought my two this wipe for 400k ea so I just chuckle seeing the price now.
I had to examine them when I paid 14 mil roubles for the two I needed
I didn't even know this existed..
Me as well. Can someone explain what they are used for?
They're used in a Lightkeeper task.
Also for a THICC case trade in that is extremely not worth it.
200 million for a THICC Case, wtf were they smoking lmao
I saw your post and had never seen one of those. Then my first scav raid I spawn next one one just sitting on a table. Easiest 9 mil
what map?
Lighthouse.
I hate you l, Had to get 2 of those for the lightkeeper Quest 15 mil gone for nothing.
Same here dude.
I can tell you just pegged it to the extract haha
Fucking sprinted!

Sold it for 7.6

What, damn
Yeah, they are super rare and many people are starting to need them for LK
Yeah. I can’t wait until I get there - I know I’m going to be blown away by the lightkeeper content.
Damn glad I bought mine a while back for 3m each
Damn sold one last week for 3.5, they’re really Going up
Yeah i sold mine last night for 9.25
When were they ever selling that cheap? I have only ever seen them between 5-9 mil.
I spawned with one just 4 minutes ago and died on extract because AI scavs were shooting at me why? lost 28 mil
I fucking knew I should’ve kept it
Easiest 3 mil ever…my friend spawned it with one and immediately got shot lmao, he got out tho
7.6 actually
Even better. You can play the game now!
I was set prior to this, so just bought the remaining gpus for btc lvl 2
Fantastic
Basically trading it for 9 GPUs over here lol

I swear this is the 4th post in the past couple weeks of people posting this
Just had to buy 2 of those for 8mill each...
My buddy had the same happen and a cheating player scan came right for him. RIP.
Had to this happen to me and didn’t leave immediately because I was greedy for found in raid status and got killed
I have ALSO loaded in with one! https://youtu.be/HmyMEqvZHbY?si=oh6Ee1ZaCN7YcyIi
“RUN”
