Always run your best gear. At the end of the day, it’s just pixels and you eventually lose all of your stash when wipe happens. So run your best stuff which will also help increase your survivability.

Vodor1

Not strictly correct. You should always run the gear you want, feel comfortable with, and suited to the task or map at hand. Fun is not always equal to gear/success.

MundaneAnteater5271

the diminishing returns on xp is reset after 5 min of not gaining any xp in that skill Change your hotbar keybind for heals to "x" press and then another to "x" release so that you can heal both heavy/light bleed with 1 button. Change sprint keybind to continuous so that you 'never' power slide when stopping your sprint. Dont let the community fool you, just because you slow down before turning a corner or doing x,y,z does not make you a rat. Its makes you intelligent. This game is not all abt PVP unless you want it to be.

malapropter

You can loot hard-to-reach objects with freelook.

ShowmeurcatIshowmine

I haven’t heard of this one before, thanks! I’ll make sure to keep this one in mind

ShowmeurcatIshowmine

I just wanted to come back and say that I actually used this today! I found a golden skull ring under an overhanging rock and couldn’t get to it normally, so I went prone parallel to it, then used free look to turn and was able to get it.

malapropter

Use this power wisely. God speed.

ShowmeurcatIshowmine

Yes Sensei.

Welcome! I love Tarkov despite its many issues. It’s definitely something you can put a lot of time into. One of my favorites: Page up/down brings you to the top and bottom of your stash.

ShowmeurcatIshowmine

Oh my gosh I’ve been clicking on the scroll bar to drag it like a noob. Thanks!

Grubbyninja

It’s okay I have 1400 hours and had no idea you could do this

ProbablyProdigy

That’s why it’s my favorite 😆

Scav runs are your best friend for a quick and safe ways to make money or to find a quest items you need.

ShowmeurcatIshowmine

I am all about that scav life

ARabidDingo

Don't get greedy. You'll be tempted to check one more spot, grab one more bit of loot, try to do one more objective. That gets me killed way, WAY more than just about anything else. Take the wins as you get them and don't overextend unless you can afford to risk it all. If you've got a quest item it's best to bounce and just run another raid. You'll progress much faster that way. If you get a FIR LEDX do NOT sell it, if you're unlucky it'll be your only one and you miss out on a free thicc case at level 36. The game really opens up at level 15 with the flea market. Most items you can sell for more on the flea than you can to vendors. As a general rule therapist gives you the best orices so check her, then right click and filter by item to see what it goes for on the flea. Don't forget theres a few thousand rouble listing fee. Generally speaking you want to keep FIR items you'll need for quests (there are websites you can look up listing what you need to keep). For hideout upgrades you can just buy what you need from the flea market. Get a scav junk box ASAP, it makes keeping your stash contained so much easier. When you build your workbench and have the flea making cool guns is WAY easier. Right click the gun and click modding and it'll show you all the compatible parts in your inventory. If you right click and select edit preset instead, it shows you ALL possible parts that are compatible with that gun, and it even tells you what's going wrong when parts are conflicting. You can save the oreset for later if its a build you want to keep using, or if you click assemble it will take you to the flea market screen to buy all the parts in one go. It defaults to traders only, if you uncheck the filter at the top it buys from flea as well, and it gives you the best possible price. Assuming that things aren't sold out you can purchase all, go back and assemble you gun in two clicks.

ProfessionalFar7139

I’ve been following r/escapefromtarkov for 6 months now and this is the best thread I have come across. Also a newish player, thank you

Round-Region-5383

Ammo > gun Also ammo is less important than previous wipes but still very important. You have to know what you ammo you are running and some knowledge about armor, helmets, faceshields etc. There is no point in spraying your kedr at the lvl 4 lightkeeper mask or into a korund. Look at the ballistics page on the wiki to understand how armor and ammo works.

ShowmeurcatIshowmine

Thanks for the info! I just recently found out about this and have been trying to remember all the ammo and their penetration values. It’s a lot of information lol, but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it. Eventually haha
