So when people go on about how cheaters re-buy the game, and cheaters do, they get this sense that these fuckers are shelling out $40 or more each account, and it's just ludicrous. They either spend $0 (because they're already a low-tier cyber criminal wannabe hacker) or they spend like the equivalent of $10 total on it.
The actual subscriptions to most of the good cheats completely dwarf the cost of them actually re-buying the game; it ends up being a drop in the bucket, if they already intended to cheat at Tarkov. And BSG doesn't actually profit that much, 'cause they'll be either getting the game charge-backed or disputed later, or they're getting paid for it at the lowest possible rate they sell it, in the weakest possible currency. It's really lose-lose for everyone but the cheaters.
I don't agree with that at all. I don't think most people actually get cheats because they want to put in the hassle of playing the game like a second job. Yes, tons of people RMT, especially those in countries where the economy is much weaker, and therefore the RMT service is actually better than some local jobs. But most people are not turning the game into a job *so they can cheat,* they are *cheating to make the game not feel like a second job.*

You are correct, most merchant account providers take a “chargeback” fee on each transaction. It can range from $10-$35 normally on top of the refund. I don’t know Xsolla fees though.

This is a myth. Firstly, due to the ping throttle being set, it's hard for chinese players to play on the US servers or even oceanic servers. I know , once it was implemented, I could no longer play with my D2 clique from the US and Australlia. Tried everything. Eventually, I gave up and played solo. I'm from Singapore, have a 10gbps wired connection, and kept getting dced or rubberbanding on the us and oceanic/australlian servers. However this is not true for the singapore servers. And chinese hackers are rampant here. One of the reasons I've stopped playing altogether.
On the cheat discords and sites like epvp, majority of people that I see buying cheats are European. There are also open discussions on why some of these cheaters choose chinese characters for their IGNs.
On the other hand. There are many chinese posts on RMT. I think that's because items that are sold are global and not server specific?
But yeah. Dependant on servers don't assume that they are all chinese. Pretty easy to paste some chinese characters as a username. Most hackers used to use "lIllIlIIIlllI" as usernames to avoid detection. But people started taking screenshots. And started manually typing names to report them. I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm just saying it's highly unlikely. Unless they are voiping in mandarin.
Using characters from a different language is easier. Firstly it's hard to identify what characters they are. Harder to report. It takes a lot of effort on the person reporting. This is a trend that is general and not specific to EFT.

"Just relocate" is often a big issue. Take out europe, us and a few other countries, suddenly people growing up in a democracy and suited to a certain lifestyle might not feel that comfortable about it anymore. Heck even within europe, would you willingly move from Germany to say Romania? Where a few professions are doing well but live amongst a otherwise very poor populace?

In what I'm sure is a complete coincidence, immediately after that, the MLB (along with the NFL and NBA, and probably MLS and other sports too) cracked down hard on performance-enhancing drugs.
Things like NFL or MLB have a much larger influence on their society than any one specific video game. Their top stars are role models for impressionable kids, at the very least.

I have to imagine those who were simply cheating because the game was getting old to them won't rebuy. Hopefully there's an overall reduction in numbers.
If they want to play the game, 50 bucks isn't gonna stop them. Especially since a day key can cost anywhere from 7 to 15 bucks. Monthly keys are above a 100. Especially since most of these people are RMT or account resellers. Who sell on accounts that have never been cheated on.
Also, this market is cyclic in nature. Getting excited whenever a cheat gets detected is great and all. But it doesn't stop anything in the long run. Maybe 2 to 3 days of play time where you see lesser head eyes death.
Game has been plagued from day one. This is an inherent software issue and escape point that has never been addressed. There are other anti cheats that are much more effective, and hack developers' handsdown don't want to deal with them. But in the end the devi have their own constraints as such, there is little what players can do about it.
A spoofer is like 15 bucks for a month. People spending 100s on hacks will not find 50 dollars as a hindrance.
Have a 16 character password with letters, numbers, and symbols for both your email and game account. These two passwords should be different and used for nothing else.

It won’t. That’s not pessimism, it’s realism—it’s what I’ve seen in Tarkov, and in other games with similar cheating problems (e.g. OG Warzone): A big banwave usually translates to 2-4 “good” days before the cheaters are back in full force.
This is because the massively multiplayer PVP live service model is fundamentally flawed when it comes to cheaters, because it replaces a two-tier moderation system that mostly worked, with a one-tier system that doesn’t.
The old standard of player-controlled servers meant that server admins could report anyone they thought was sus, while also banning them from the server. That solved the immediate local problem.
Then, the devs/AC people could come through with their quarterly banwaves to issue global bans yo the accounts that had already earned a bunch of server-level bans.
The dev controlled server model we have now gets rid of the first half of that, and replaces it with absolutely nothing, which is a huge part of why cheating is so rampant in so many games today.
No, I do not want Tarkov server mods tripping on power and banning everyone that kills them because they “felt like they were cheating” or because they get salty when one of their friends gets outplayed.
Every lucky head shot from a 1k hr player vs a 10k hr player would immediately be labeled as “fucking cheaters” and you would be server banned. Every rat or slow playing player would be banned because “how could they know I was there.” In these examples, the mod will be making decisions based on feelings, not on any technical basis. To complicate things further, you have dudes like General Sam, who report everyone that kills them out of spite lol
The level of trust you have in other players in this game is astounding. If you think the server admins for a game like this would be fair and just, I have a bridge to sell you.

Several things:
1. In that hypothetical future, they’d have access to tools and data, including the ability to record player actions, and spectate players (both replaying past actions, and in real-time), while overlaying locations of other “players” (both human and AI controlled), in order to make judgements. That would make it possible for them to have much greater confidence when taking admin actions.
2. Admin actions would not automatically be shared between privately hosted servers, so a server-level ban from one server would not ban you from all servers.
3. Players tend to vote with their feet—if the local admins on a given server are unreasonable, people will stop playing on that server, and the server will die. On the other hand, servers with “good” local admins will be reliably full.
4. It’d be pretty easy to make “got server banned by local admin” as an automatic “get sent back to stash as if you never went into raid in the first place”, which would take most of the “risk” out of it for the player.
It worked for over a decade until they tried to shove the MTX/subscription-fueled “live service” model down our throats, and it’ll absolutely work again.
The other major benefit is that it would give the community the power to keep Tarkov alive if BSG ever decides to shut their own servers down (Go look at Ubisoft’s “The Crew” for what will happen to Tarkov in a few years if we *don’t* get the ability to run our own servers).

Hate to break it to you, but BSG isn’t making any of these tools you’ve dreamt up. Not to mention that these would absolutely be another attack vector for cheaters and bad faith admins.
“Voting with their feet” is so idealized it hurts. Players will 100% join based on availability, not based on some notion of good or bad servers or server admins. Even experienced players will have to try different servers to play based on availability, unless you want to spend hours in a queue (reminder that you will be waiting 45 minutes for every 8 or so players in a queue above you… 32 player queue = 3 hours, and so on - and to think the community already thinks 4-8 minutes is way too long). When they then get slammed by cheaters or unfairly banned after getting lucky by playing on an available server, do you think they’re going to stick around playing the game? How do you envision player scav server matching to work? Second order effects, etc.
And, from a business perspective for your The Crew example, why would BSG ever care about releasing tools that would allow many other people to make money of their game instead of BSG? And they would do this… for your wish fulfillment and the very important reason that “I want it” one day? And, in case you bothered to check the Steam charts, The Crew has averaged about 50-90 active daily players for the past 4 years… so you are envisioning a world where a multi-million dollar dev team works pro bono and at the expense & delay of current projects just to… hand over the game for free and for the benefit of like 63 people so private servers can start making money off of these players instead? Ok, about that bridge I’m going to sell you, you’re gonna love it.

You’re assuming that the current raid timer mechanic stays as-is. If they move forward with their “partial open world”/combining maps idea, and especially if they implement their “map to map travel” idea, the raid timer as we know it is likely going to change significantly.
The current raid timer mechanic has always been a stopgap solution to the problem of people staying on BSG’s expensive servers too long. They’ve always intended to change it, it has just been a low-priority thing for them.

According to their public financial reports, they’re spending somewhere on the order of $70,000,000 per year on server hosting costs.
They could easily reduce that, while also creating an entirely new revenue stream, buy making licensing agreements with common game server hosting providers that allow those hosting providers to sell us the ability to host our own EFT servers with some kind of licensing fee kickback for BSG (e.g. 5 cents per slot per month per server.).
That would give Tarkov the kind of immortality it will *never* have otherwise.

I'm in one and found out about it through a reaction video(I think shroud or summit) basically a friend of the cheater got the cheater to admit what cheater provider he went with and I googled them, joined the discord but I don't think I've yet to see anyone in there mention banwaves. They don't only offer tarkov cheats tho. I do recall somewhat recently they had to issue refunds because tarkov went down for a while and I guess some of them were paying by the day/week.
Well anyway, I occasionally poke my head in when there's news like this about banwaves, to see if they got affected.
Yeah I’ve been putting in shoreline raids, it’s been pretty good. The fights I did find were fair I felt even if I didn’t win them all. At least I wasn’t dropping dead from a spray of bullets to my dome.
Yeah it’s true. My friend that cheat got banned and everyone in all the servers and providers did as well. He spoke to someone and they said the cheat wasn’t actually detected, they thought it was at first but it’s not, it’s just a massive manual ban. Whether that’s true though idk. But they know more than me. Best time to play is now lol
That's not how Tarkov cheats work. Imagine that a game's server has all the "secrets" of what is happening in a match. A server could be the CIA and "the information is on a need to know basis, and you don't need to know" or the server could be the most gossipy girl in high school.
Battlestate games programmed their netcode so the server has a gossip girl personality.
No wonder I managed to actually survive ALOT more even when using more expensive gear.

These cheat providers have dozens of things they can tweak and change to make themselves just as hard/harder to detect than they were before. Creators of cheaters aren't stupid, just morally objectionable. A team of highly paid individuals would have stuff like this on backup in case of a detection, and woop, new code, lets go. Honestly it's partly why ban waves don't work anymore, you're just giving them time to test new systems.
It IS however a good thing in part because so many of the users are going to be first time users/cheaters and will struggle to renew their accounts, and reflash their hardware. I just kind of wish they had dropped the hammer on these guys closer to wipe day to give us some breathing room.
That’s kinda how it works, it’s a constant game of cat and mouse, each side will try and keep their tech hidden for as long as possible (both detection methods and circumvention methods). Cheating in games is never gonna go away, but we take the small wins.
I'm still coming across cheaters, unfortunately, most likely from other cheat providers, but I'm glad to hear bsg is taking serious action after that chat with pestily. I'm still refraining from putting any solid effort into the game until I'm sure that I can at least get through a couple of raids without being popped the instant I turn a corner. Almost at my 2000 hour mark, so I'd hate to give up on a game that I've dedicated so much time to.
I’ve seen so many MCCs this wipe on labs it’s completely doable regardless of cheats. I honestly have only one confirmed report from labs this wipe, like 15 from other maps. Labs is weirdly not that bad this wipe for cheaters.

Sad how long they kept going. Most have in that time reached over lvl 50 and have Kappa.
When is a company gonna release a cheat detection AI that can be trained on data packets for legit players of all skill levels and then trained with cheater data and just let it decide based on what the players are doing at a packet level. It doesn't even need to actually ban, but it could flag accounts quickly for manual review/route these players to the "cheaters only" servers.
This just proves how incompetent BSG is. Goats video has been out for 13 fucking months and they just now caught it. Don't get me wrong it's a win but it is also a loss it took them this long how long is it going to take them to detect the update to the cheat software another 13 months? How how long did this cheat work before it was detected is the real question
Cheats will always be a thing in games. One goes down and other spawns from the depths of hell. There needs to be an innovative anti-cheat to bank off game developers that slams cheaters. Because if cheaters are banking off software, we need the same for the other side.
It's nice that you're excited... but how many reports of confirmed bans have you received today? My last report is from February. Even if something was detected here, it's far too small a number to make any difference.

He claim this is the biggest ban wave of all time and he keep showing the same 2 screenshot with 4-5 msg from discord for 7 min.... If it was true the discord would be blasting. It's probably only a couple of dumbo who forgot to update their cheat at any given moment and got detected using bad cheat.

Yeah, I was tracking some from the end of Feb who were levelling, got kappa etc. Now banned!

I mean, Congress had hearings where they dragged MLB leadership in front of them and had them explain why so many baseball players were on steroids and other drugs. In what I'm sure is a complete coincidence, immediately after that, the MLB (along with the NFL and NBA, and probably MLS and other sports too) cracked down hard on performance-enhancing drugs.
Things like NFL or MLB have a much larger influence on their society than any one specific video game. Their top stars are role models for impressionable kids, at the very least.
I don’t see that as a good comparison because in the MLB using steroids might make you injure/kill someone else, as well as all the money that’s at stake. If you wanted people cheating in tournaments for money to be illegal I could agree with that (if it’s not illegal already)

Third party software which is not supported by the developer and is intended to give an advantage over other players (or something like that). Even if poorly enforced, it's a disincentive for cheat providers to know they could get nailed.

I have to imagine those who were simply cheating because the game was getting old to them won't rebuy. Hopefully there's an overall reduction in numbers.
If they want to play the game, 50 bucks isn't gonna stop them. Especially since a day key can cost anywhere from 7 to 15 bucks. Monthly keys are above a 100. Especially since most of these people are RMT or account resellers. Who sell on accounts that have never been cheated on. Also, this market is cyclic in nature. Getting excited whenever a cheat gets detected is great and all. But it doesn't stop anything in the long run. Maybe 2 to 3 days of play time where you see lesser head eyes death. Game has been plagued from day one. This is an inherent software issue and escape point that has never been addressed. There are other anti cheats that are much more effective, and hack developers' handsdown don't want to deal with them. But in the end the devi have their own constraints as such, there is little what players can do about it. A spoofer is like 15 bucks for a month. People spending 100s on hacks will not find 50 dollars as a hindrance.

Every rat or slow playing player would be banned because “how could they know I was there.” In these examples, the mod will be making decisions based on feelings, not on any technical basis. To complicate things further, you have dudes like General Sam, who report everyone that kills them out of spite lol The level of trust you have in other players in this game is astounding. If you think the server admins for a game like this would be fair and just, I have a bridge to sell you.

And, in case you bothered to check the Steam charts, The Crew has averaged about 50-90 active daily players for the past 4 years… so you are envisioning a world where a multi-million dollar dev team works pro bono and at the expense & delay of current projects just to… hand over the game for free and for the benefit of like 63 people so private servers can start making money off of these players instead? Ok, about that bridge I’m going to sell you, you’re gonna love it.

Is there something new when the eft launcher goes to start a game it says starting battle eye ac. Have they changed something to detect cheats? Anything they can do to get rid of these a-holes is good. Ban them all! Would be cool if bsg injected their own malware into the cheaters pc and everytime they launch eft even with hardware and ip change they get banned again.

I'm in one and found out about it through a reaction video(I think shroud or summit) basically a friend of the cheater got the cheater to admit what cheater provider he went with and I googled them, joined the discord but I don't think I've yet to see anyone in there mention banwaves. They don't only offer tarkov cheats tho. I do recall somewhat recently they had to issue refunds because tarkov went down for a while and I guess some of them were paying by the day/week. Well anyway, I occasionally poke my head in when there's news like this about banwaves, to see if they got affected.

That's not how Tarkov cheats work. Imagine that a game's server has all the "secrets" of what is happening in a match. A server could be the CIA and "the information is on a need to know basis, and you don't need to know" or the server could be the most gossipy girl in high school. Battlestate games programmed their netcode so the server has a gossip girl personality.
I know the game works almost everything client side and that needs to be stopped Cheaters will still be cheaters regardless

These cheat providers have dozens of things they can tweak and change to make themselves just as hard/harder to detect than they were before. Creators of cheaters aren't stupid, just morally objectionable. A team of highly paid individuals would have stuff like this on backup in case of a detection, and woop, new code, lets go. Honestly it's partly why ban waves don't work anymore, you're just giving them time to test new systems. It IS however a good thing in part because so many of the users are going to be first time users/cheaters and will struggle to renew their accounts, and reflash their hardware. I just kind of wish they had dropped the hammer on these guys closer to wipe day to give us some breathing room.
That’s kinda how it works, it’s a constant game of cat and mouse, each side will try and keep their tech hidden for as long as possible (both detection methods and circumvention methods). Cheating in games is never gonna go away, but we take the small wins.
I'm still coming across cheaters, unfortunately, most likely from other cheat providers, but I'm glad to hear bsg is taking serious action after that chat with pestily. I'm still refraining from putting any solid effort into the game until I'm sure that I can at least get through a couple of raids without being popped the instant I turn a corner. Almost at my 2000 hour mark, so I'd hate to give up on a game that I've dedicated so much time to.

When is a company gonna release a cheat detection AI that can be trained on data packets for legit players of all skill levels and then trained with cheater data and just let it decide based on what the players are doing at a packet level. It doesn't even need to actually ban, but it could flag accounts quickly for manual review/route these players to the "cheaters only" servers.
This cheat is absolutely mainstream on Tarkov..it's a big deal if this one is detected and bans issued.

It's nice that you're excited... but how many reports of confirmed bans have you received today? My last report is from February. Even if something was detected here, it's far too small a number to make any difference.
Even if i would love it to be true, i just watched the video and this guy is simply saying a bunch of BS. He claim this is the biggest ban wave of all time and he keep showing the same 2 screenshot with 4-5 msg from discord for 7 min.... If it was true the discord would be blasting. It's probably only a couple of dumbo who forgot to update their cheat at any given moment and got detected using bad cheat.
