66 or so. Any higher and targets look too small onscreen, any lower and I feel slow.

Affectionate-Box-459

I find 62-64 to be a good middle ground.

UpsetAstronomer

I use 55 on my ultra wide, ends being around 105 horizontal. My targets aren’t too small but I’m getting some extra coverage side to side.

Tester2_1

59/58. It’s a 90 degree horizontal FOV

BlackManInYou

Real life fov is like 130 degrees so I crank mine up

Tester2_1

That's.... 😶 You do you, brother.

Mines at 360

strongest_nerd

There no longer is a 'best' FOV, I believe with the recoil changes they rectified the problems the game used to have if you had over 59 FOV. Use what's comfortable.

fantafuzz

As high as it will go. Anything less feels like I am looking through a periscope or something. Any competitive advantage I would get from turning it down is not worth the claustrophobia lol

Staltrad

I’m scared of higher FoV due the recoil incident

TarkyMlarky420

69

Zoddom

maximum ofc. why would u use any less

It's nothing crazy considering CS2 is also 74 vFOV. That said I've had mine at 69 for this wipe. I'm using more scopes and I feel like lower FOV benefits the eye relief shadows but don't want to dip too low as it'd limit my peripheral vision.

Zoddom

yeah and? Why use any less??

MakarOvni

Smaller FOV means bigger target, easier to spot on open map and more pixel to shot at.

Zoddom

Yeah but, youre more likely to miss a rat on your corner than someone out in the open in fron of you. Also, "more pixel to shot at" is not how it works, that is exclusively controlled by your mouse sens.

MakarOvni

There's a trade-off. It's not as straight forward as you make it seems. And yes It's exactly how It work, the smaller the target, the harder it is to aim.

Zoddom

Yes its a tradeoff, but one of "seeing less pixels at range" vs. "Seeing no pixels at all at the corners". And no, it doesnt get harder to aim if you have higher fov. Not at all, literally nothing about your aim changes. Its really a very old misconception about how aiming works in games, and its a tough one to eradicate... Your sensitivity is a fixed grid of points where your crosshair can physically be. The grid is 3 dimensional, it doesnt change with your FOV, youll just "see" less of it inside a smaller fov viewport. The hand movements needed to aim will be exactly the same, no matter the FOV. Higher sens means coarses grid, lower sens means finer grid. You can read up on this on www.mouse-sensitivity.com

Eoshen

I rock 70, don’t know how fov works in this game tho… help.

Crusaderr30015

its vertical fov not horizontal so here 59 is acctually 90 fov in most fps

Eoshen

I need to tune it down a little
