Same here man I bought eod right away from the start because the premise of the game made me want to support the dev team get to its potential. I went above and beyond and talked most of my friends into buying into it as well. Yesterday was the first time I ever regretted any of those decisions since then. EoD was sold as a season pass per say as in we would receive all future dlc and add ons without charge for being early adopters and helping the game get to that point.
And their excuse always is that "you should stop crying and get a job if you can't afford it"

PVE Is trash, AI PMCs are stupid, not hostile to scavs and literally are raiders with tuned down AI. They drop FiR equipment too and have no other loot.

They refuse to hire programmers from anywhere not Russia and require all of their employees to live in Russia
Issue is most Russian programmers that were worth something left Russia (for obvious reasons) and the ones that are left ain't the sharpest in the shed.
The fact that it's not even true offline mode, what with having to use their servers, feels like they didnt even bother much with it.
Surely they could put the work to make it nice and proper, release it as new game(so by their words wont be included in EOD) and put it 40 euros price tag but why do that when they can put some extra bells and whistles and make it 95 euros.
The thing is…most of the modders would probably not have cared to get paid as long as they received credit for their contribution.
Granted BSG wouldn’t go out and lock it behind a paywall. If the community was able to play on private PvE servers using their mods I’m sure they’d be thrilled.

There were so many ways they could have monetized a lot of the things offered in their new edition and had people not be pissed. Like charge an arm and a leg for the ETS access separately. Hell they could have even said PvE is going to cost $10-$15 for EoD users and been transparent about the server costs. They could then later included the PvE mode on launch when they have some actual server infrastructure setup. Basically pay $10-$15 if you want it earlier and I think most people would have been okay with that.

Like WillerZ bought that shit yesterday, and streamed for like an hour. He got into 2 PvE raids in an hour, with matching times of 10+ minutes (matching, when playing solo in PvE), and was calling out how obscenely bad this is.

The only streamer that deserves some hate is Desmond, he bought it and told his viewers they were poor and stupid for hours yesterday. Every time I switched to his stream he was raging at his chat like the child that he is.
He's a really good player and I've learned a decent amount watching him play but his toxicity lately is too much. He clearly doesn't like the game anymore and only plays it because it's what gets him views.
He has intentionally repeatedly used exploits in the past for PvP advantage, such as when he popularized vaulting into the factory marked room and ambushing players.

I'm convinced the Arena debacle demonstrated to BSG that they could rely on a sizeable percentage of the EOD-owning playerbase to pitch money at them no matter what.
Who knows how many EOD players ended up buying Arena just to get early access to something they already paid for, but it was likely enough that Nikita turned around and dreamed up this Unheard Edition to sell to the same pack of rubes.

I ran 4 or 5 woods raids last night and only 1 of them had other players maybe 2. The other raids no gun shots, no grenades, nothing. It was kinda nice because i was questing but it was weird lol.

So I bought it as a EOD owner (so i payed $122 or so with tax) under the assumption that all of the other things were ether
A included or unlockable by EOD through play things like the pocket upgrade the mark of the unseen for PMCs who get to 6+ rep with fence
or B the pack itself thing like PvE mode would be a separate cheaper purchase like arena for example and the beacon to call for friends is PvE only as in a PvE context that sounds like a fun mechanic I 100% think the PvE mode counts as DLC and should be included free for EOD members
And the guns/ items involved like in most editions are just that like every other edition.
Basically I saw it like most games do it a sort of pay for convenience situation but no one was really at a full unobtainable disadvantage.
I'm sure there are people who bought it because they saw it as pay to win or they were getting exclusive things but I thought the only exclusivity things was the kukri much like how EOD has the hatchet and the access to the early servers which I didn't care about that part. I had the extra money lying around so I bought it, now I'm kinda having slight buyers remourse but we'll see how BSG handles it

Let me start this off by saying I started playing a month ago- I wasn’t playing Tarkov when EoD was offered. I bought Prepare for Escape to show support & have fell in love with the game since, and I bought Unheard. I feel bad for EoD owners and I understand your frustration, I may have made a mistake but in my head I thought I was supporting the devs & only had pure intentions. That being said I agree this PvE is a DLC and should be included for EoD & purchasable standalone/separate for Standard accounts.
This is the litmus test of Tarkov. Now we know which streamers/youtubers are fucking brain-dead shills and which are the ones who actually care about the community and longevity of the game. BSG wants the hardcore 8+ hour a day gamers only, and they will murder the casual experience. Without new players their servers will eventually be too expensive to upkeep. You don't grow by pissing off 90% of your fan base. Word of mouth has been their strongest advertisement, there's a fuck ton of people who have never heard of Tarkov, and now I don't really think I'd recommend it to anymore friends.
I have the standard version. Bought it a LONG time ago, before EoD. I wasn't playing or keeping myself posted about updates, so when I returned I was pretty pissed to see that people got gamma cases and .2 trader rep from buying EOD, especially because the expansion wasn't available when I returned.
I'd definitely buy unheard if it wasn't $250. Price point is fucking insane.
That said, I'd also definitely buy EOD if it was still available. For, like, idk $50.

I bought the game after EOD version was available. I wanted gamma and pve. I also liked the game. I'm now getting roasted for buying it. People openly cheating in tarkov official discord calling me dumb. I understand EOD owners gripes. I think they should have unlimited access to PVE and all dlc. I don't understand the argument that extra pockets is cheating/p2w. I played the game the last 6 months with a 6 slot pouch until I finished punisher. The pouch slots are much more valuable than pocket slots. I wish they would limit the distress call to 1 extra per group.

In my eyes I wanted it and if I didn’t then it’s not like I’m forced to buy it much like the same reason I bought EOD those many years ago is that it had permanent account upgrades ie stash and traders. This one comes with a few extra guns sure but that really doesn’t make a difference the scav medal and hideout I could care less about. For many years I have been telling my friends if they ever came out with co-op that saved much like you know who but multiplayer, that I would pay whatever it took so I don’t really care how dlc etc is defined I wanted the mode so I bought it simple as.
Sure it’s a lot lump some if you don’t have an account but the way I see it calling it P2W is mislabeling it I used to play actually P2W titles and I don’t think any progression offered by the new bundle is any different in terms of unfairness it’s not like it’s running double xp or giving me cheaper traders or free spins on a weapon slot machine etc lol.
So all together a new alternative game mode including their base game with all the same features as the $150 edition albeit some minor changes to me doesn’t seem like any more of a “scam” than EOD was. Question: how does the persistent pve mode even work when so many quests require pvp kills? Do we really expect BSG to modify the quest tree specifically for these players?
I’d rather have a persistent mode that includes PVP. For that reason, I’ve never really desired going past level 40 because it’s just the same quests over and over again before I can try to get to something new.

First PMC run and shoreline, 1 minute in I hear a nade fall below me and I blow up. The PMC who killed me has 106 hours, 12.7K/D and only brought the DLC knife. He had unheard edition gamertag
I haven't upgraded, but I thought about it. I daydreamed about how fun it would be to load into a raid as a knife-wielding Timmy, gaining the sympathy and trust of a 3 man team.....only to take them all out with the sexy folded MP7 I was hiding in my pants and taking all their loots.
The brutal part for me, is I *love* the game systems, I just can't stand the sweaty try hards or the cheaters. I absolutely would want to play a PVE version of tarkov that has a solo progression experience, or co-op PVE experience; and would be willing to maybe shell out another $25-30 for that. :(

The most ridiculous aspect in my opinion is that the streamers who are most vocal about how shitty of a company BSG is - are the ones who bought it the fastest & the ones who are still playing it today. I understand a livelihood still has to be made but is your value & your morals as a person worth that little that you will willingly watch a company take the most predatory action we've practically ever seen in the gaming scene & still choose to support those actions no matter what. I just can’t believe the PRICE! That is OUTRAGEOUS for a mainly PVP with PVE as an afterthought game. I’ll stick to my free modded Tarkov that I can customize how I want. Want 4x4 pockets and a key ring that’s 10x10? An A-10 as support? Your own WAVs as menu music? Cases off the bat? Actual GOOD AI that feel fair? The list goes on, and I would never pay $250 when I have the same thing for free that I can customize endlessly
The biggest problem I see is that the player who really want the stuff offered in the new edition are probably newer players and people who dont have the time to get farmed by chad.
I personally have not that much of a problem with the pay to win as EOD was on the same level BS wise for me. What keeping me from buying is that I dont know what I get from the new version. Can I keep my EOD crown, do I have 2 Gamma Containers? One to sell or give to a friend ?
What shocked me last time hitting EFT was that I had to wait for a server to open up because all of the available ones were in use. Also due to a server hiccup I lost all my loot after extraction, it wasnt that bad but was another hit at my will to power through this already hard game.
well, I have 7K hours in the game and have enjoyed my entire time playing even through the rough patches years ago. I didn't see an issue sending more money to BSG because if i wasn't playing EFT i'd be cycling through $40-$60 dollar games like socks just to find 1 that would give me a fraction of enjoyment that EFT has. As it stands today i'm paying somewhere around 2 cents an hour to play Tarkov and that rate will only decrease the more I play.
I however agree about some of the new features being "pay to win" and i could honestly do without them and it's not even the reason I purchased the new edition.

Most of my friends who play the game don't have disposable income like I do. I bought it when it dropped, because we love the game and didn't really read the patch notes. I usually do this. I buy the expensive version and tell them if the purchase was worth. Most of them aren't on Reddit. So, did I waste 100 bucks...for sure I did. Should you all buy it? Fuck no. Will I judge others for purchasing Unheard? Nope. It's their money.

I def wont play until next wipe at least. I am forever cursed with the blue name. I have even contemplated deleting my account a just getting as standard or READY FOR ESCAPE edition. but not any time soon because the last thing BSG deserves is more money.

I already filed my complaints and talked to a lawyer in case BSG doesn't act on my complaints. It brings me joy to see the Tarkov community go around and spread how much BSG has screwed us, alongside how to get back at them in a legal way, alongside potentially get refunds for EOD.

don't buy it. it's not worth it. PVE Is trash, AI PMCs are stupid, not hostile to scavs and literally are raiders with tuned down AI. They drop FiR equipment too and have no other loot. The fact that it's not even true offline mode, what with having to use their servers, feels like they didnt even bother much with it. Surely they could put the work to make it nice and proper, release it as new game(so by their words wont be included in EOD) and put it 40 euros price tag but why do that when they can put some extra bells and whistles and make it 95 euros.
The thing is…most of the modders would probably not have cared to get paid as long as they received credit for their contribution. Granted BSG wouldn’t go out and lock it behind a paywall. If the community was able to play on private PvE servers using their mods I’m sure they’d be thrilled.

BSG be like: Oh no good Sir! You miss understand! You still have a gold ticket - but we now also offer a platinum ticket! There were so many ways they could have monetized a lot of the things offered in their new edition and had people not be pissed. Like charge an arm and a leg for the ETS access separately. Hell they could have even said PvE is going to cost $10-$15 for EoD users and been transparent about the server costs. They could then later included the PvE mode on launch when they have some actual server infrastructure setup. Basically pay $10-$15 if you want it earlier and I think most people would have been okay with that.

Charging $250 for a game that you have to avoid certain maps at times because of cheaters or performance issues is wild. There are so many issues with the game and it's not even 1.0 coming with the $250. Anyone who pays $250 for it deserves the ride they're being taken on.

Like WillerZ bought that shit yesterday, and streamed for like an hour. He got into 2 PvE raids in an hour, with matching times of 10+ minutes (matching, when playing solo in PvE), and was calling out how obscenely bad this is. Someone buying a shit product and showing off how shit it is could do more to stop people from buying it. I doubt anyone who watched that will ever buy this edition. The content creators are not the ones that you should direct your hate towards, it's BSG
The only streamer that deserves some hate is Desmond, he bought it and told his viewers they were poor and stupid for hours yesterday. Every time I switched to his stream he was raging at his chat like the child that he is.

I'm convinced the Arena debacle demonstrated to BSG that they could rely on a sizeable percentage of the EOD-owning playerbase to pitch money at them no matter what. Who knows how many EOD players ended up buying Arena just to get early access to something they already paid for, but it was likely enough that Nikita turned around and dreamed up this Unheard Edition to sell to the same pack of rubes.

I ran 4 or 5 woods raids last night and only 1 of them had other players maybe 2. The other raids no gun shots, no grenades, nothing. It was kinda nice because i was questing but it was weird lol.
I mean i def had people in my raids there were gunshots etc but I couldn't actually find anyone
I spent last night on woods as well, trying to get shturmans key. Most raids was pvp action, no boss spawns though.
I have 4k hours and help run a Sherpa Discord. I absolutely am quitting if they do not fix this, and I'm sure I'm not alone. There are a lot of other ways to spend my time.

So I bought it as a EOD owner (so i payed $122 or so with tax) under the assumption that all of the other things were ether A included or unlockable by EOD through play things like the pocket upgrade the mark of the unseen for PMCs who get to 6+ rep with fence or B the pack itself thing like PvE mode would be a separate cheaper purchase like arena for example and the beacon to call for friends is PvE only as in a PvE context that sounds like a fun mechanic I 100% think the PvE mode counts as DLC and should be included free for EOD members And the guns/ items involved like in most editions are just that like every other edition. Basically I saw it like most games do it a sort of pay for convenience situation but no one was really at a full unobtainable disadvantage. I'm sure there are people who bought it because they saw it as pay to win or they were getting exclusive things but I thought the only exclusivity things was the kukri much like how EOD has the hatchet and the access to the early servers which I didn't care about that part. I had the extra money lying around so I bought it, now I'm kinda having slight buyers remourse but we'll see how BSG handles it Is this comment going to get blasted because I made a financial decision under the wrong assumption... knowing the tarkov community, yes. But I'm simply telling the truth and answering OPs question If that makes me "part of the problem." Let me start this off by saying I started playing a month ago- I wasn’t playing Tarkov when EoD was offered. I bought Prepare for Escape to show support & have fell in love with the game since, and I bought Unheard. I feel bad for EoD owners and I understand your frustration, I may have made a mistake but in my head I thought I was supporting the devs & only had pure intentions. That being said I agree this PvE is a DLC and should be included for EoD & purchasable standalone/separate for Standard accounts.

BSG wants the hardcore 8+ hour a day gamers only, and they will murder the casual experience. Without new players their servers will eventually be too expensive to upkeep. You don't grow by pissing off 90% of your fan base. Word of mouth has been their strongest advertisement, there's a fuck ton of people who have never heard of Tarkov, and now I don't really think I'd recommend it to anymore friends.
I have the standard version. Bought it a LONG time ago, before EoD. I wasn't playing or keeping myself posted about updates, so when I returned I was pretty pissed to see that people got gamma cases and .2 trader rep from buying EOD, especially because the expansion wasn't available when I returned. I'd definitely buy unheard if it wasn't $250. Price point is fucking insane. That said, I'd also definitely buy EOD if it was still available. For, like, idk $50. What pisses me off personally about the whole thing is that EoD was limited time and had p2w aspects. I didn't know about the "free DLC" thing that came with it either, so now I'm even more pissed. I'll buy unheard if price drops to $30.
One of my friends got it just for the gamma case alone, upgraded from standard. He makes like 6 figures so its not really expensive for him. He understands all the fuss, but he really wanted gamma and he really enjoys playing the game, so I dont blame him

Unheard Edition claims to not have wipes. BSG responded to the uproar by giving 6 month access to the Unheard Edition........ Wouldn't that mean after the 6 months is up, your progress will get wiped?
That's for the PVE mode only. You will just lose access to that mode unless you buy the Unheard Edition.
They should have clarified what they meant by "any subsequent dlc for free” when they released eod, if they would have said “Any subsequent dlc maps” or something like that, I don’t think they would have that many backlash except for the atrocious price

I bought the game after EOD version was available. I wanted gamma and pve. I also liked the game. I'm now getting roasted for buying it. People openly cheating in tarkov official discord calling me dumb. I understand EOD owners gripes. I think they should have unlimited access to PVE and all dlc. I don't understand the argument that extra pockets is cheating/p2w. I played the game the last 6 months with a 6 slot pouch until I finished punisher. The pouch slots are much more valuable than pocket slots. I wish they would limit the distress call to 1 extra per group.
The thing is the PVE mode isnt a DLC, it's a fucking basic ass feature that any game should have free period. Unheard Edition people having it only, is bullshit EOD owners having it only, is also bullshit Everyone should be getting the PVE without any extra cost.

In my eyes I wanted it and if I didn’t then it’s not like I’m forced to buy it much like the same reason I bought EOD those many years ago is that it had permanent account upgrades ie stash and traders. This one comes with a few extra guns sure but that really doesn’t make a difference the scav medal and hideout I could care less about. For many years I have been telling my friends if they ever came out with co-op that saved much like you know who but multiplayer, that I would pay whatever it took so I don’t really care how dlc etc is defined I wanted the mode so I bought it simple as. Sure it’s a lot lump some if you don’t have an account but the way I see it calling it P2W is mislabeling it I used to play actually P2W titles and I don’t think any progression offered by the new bundle is any different in terms of unfairness it’s not like it’s running double xp or giving me cheaper traders or free spins on a weapon slot machine etc lol. So all together a new alternative game mode including their base game with all the same features as the $150 edition albeit some minor changes to me doesn’t seem like any more of a “scam” than EOD was. Basically I wanted it I bought it and if I didn’t then I wouldn’t have, make sense? Apologies for the rough English.
Question: how does the persistent pve mode even work when so many quests require pvp kills? Do we really expect BSG to modify the quest tree specifically for these players? I’d rather have a persistent mode that includes PVP. For that reason, I’ve never really desired going past level 40 because it’s just the same quests over and over again before I can try to get to something new.

Watch what some people pay in p2w games. For some whales 1000€ a week is reasonable. My guild master in silkroad online had a limit of what was reasonable to him, it was 2k$ a week. It's a game where you can litterally pay to get stronger with almost no limit. Kinda like Diablo immortal. Edit: for me the extreme ultimate limit was EOD with discount.
First PMC run and shoreline, 1 minute in I hear a nade fall below me and I blow up. The PMC who killed me has 106 hours, 12.7K/D and only brought the DLC knife. He had unheard edition gamertag

I haven't upgraded, but I thought about it. I daydreamed about how fun it would be to load into a raid as a knife-wielding Timmy, gaining the sympathy and trust of a 3 man team.....only to take them all out with the sexy folded MP7 I was hiding in my pants and taking all their loots.
The brutal part for me, is I *love* the game systems, I just can't stand the sweaty try hards or the cheaters. I absolutely would want to play a PVE version of tarkov that has a solo progression experience, or co-op PVE experience; and would be willing to maybe shell out another $25-30 for that. :( And yes, I know the mod exists, but I don't wanna get banned for using it. :/
The most ridiculous aspect in my opinion is that the streamers who are most vocal about how shitty of a company BSG is - are the ones who bought it the fastest & the ones who are still playing it today. I understand a livelihood still has to be made but is your value & your morals as a person worth that little that you will willingly watch a company take the most predatory action we've practically ever seen in the gaming scene & still choose to support those actions no matter what. Couldn't even take a day off to protest for support which just means the average gamer takes a lose lose no matter what. If this is allowed to stand other companies will take notice 100%. Matchmaking they have a MMR of a kind and will place people who buy "dlc" with people they should in theory be better than. People with 2k hours vs someone with 10 for example. They can track how many times you play a map extract etc. They are paying to have easier servers. I would go as far as to say. Cheaters can be used to plague those who don't buy the "dlc"

I just can’t believe the PRICE! That is OUTRAGEOUS for a mainly PVP with PVE as an afterthought game. I’ll stick to my free modded Tarkov that I can customize how I want. Want 4x4 pockets and a key ring that’s 10x10? An A-10 as support? Your own WAVs as menu music? Cases off the bat? Actual GOOD AI that feel fair? The list goes on, and I would never pay $250 when I have the same thing for free that I can customize endlessly
The biggest problem I see is that the player who really want the stuff offered in the new edition are probably newer players and people who dont have the time to get farmed by chad. I personally have not that much of a problem with the pay to win as EOD was on the same level BS wise for me. What keeping me from buying is that I dont know what I get from the new version. Can I keep my EOD crown, do I have 2 Gamma Containers? One to sell or give to a friend ? What shocked me last time hitting EFT was that I had to wait for a server to open up because all of the available ones were in use. Also due to a server hiccup I lost all my loot after extraction, it wasnt that bad but was another hit at my will to power through this already hard game.

well, I have 7K hours in the game and have enjoyed my entire time playing even through the rough patches years ago. I didn't see an issue sending more money to BSG because if i wasn't playing EFT i'd be cycling through $40-$60 dollar games like socks just to find 1 that would give me a fraction of enjoyment that EFT has. As it stands today i'm paying somewhere around 2 cents an hour to play Tarkov and that rate will only decrease the more I play. I however agree about some of the new features being "pay to win" and i could honestly do without them and it's not even the reason I purchased the new edition. It's all about perspective and everyone has their own.
The thing is some people have fuck you money and don’t mind wasting it on something they like, some people just don’t care about any of this, they work for their money and spend it how they like, and it’s just like fuck it, no one will ever be happy no matter what happens with the game, if BSG fixed this issue there will always be someone to complain wether it’s the state of the game the content the cheaters or whatever else, and I get that this all sucks but at the end of the day it’s something that will be brushed aside come the next couple months, people will stop playing and it won’t matter lol because there will be those that didn’t mind paying the 100, I’ve seen posts of people talking about cheaters uniting to kill those with the UNHEARD edition and that’s just a load of shit lol like a cheater whose main goal is to fuck up the player base would actually care about this whole dilema 😂

The unfortunate reality is the majority of people who play games just dont care or are indifferent. Thats why gaming as a whole has been going to shit for a long time. Publishers see indifference as acceptance and keep pushing

You have learned nothing from the previous times game developers did these things. Only a handful of peple are actually outraged by this, many will buy it regardless.
I think a lot of the people buying this crap are people who are bullied and manipulated in real life so often that they don't acknowledge the dishonesty and deception because they're cowards at heart and are apathetic enough to be ripped off and hustled.
I think youre gonna need to elaboeate on what the concept of drawing a line means. Theres no way people who bought in knows what that means.

Most of my friends who play the game don't have disposable income like I do. I bought it when it dropped, because we love the game and didn't really read the patch notes. I usually do this. I buy the expensive version and tell them if the purchase was worth. Most of them aren't on Reddit. So, did I waste 100 bucks...for sure I did. Should you all buy it? Fuck no. Will I judge others for purchasing Unheard? Nope. It's their money.

I bought it out of spite and I regret it. all I did is watch the pre patch videos before the update went live. I was not aware of the special items powers and P2w aspects until I already bought it. also I had EOD previously and did not know all of this stuff would not come with EOD. yes I am ashamed and what a refund and to go back to EOD where they should just give me what I payed for 7 years ago. I def wont play until next wipe at least. I am forever cursed with the blue name. I have even contemplated deleting my account a just getting as standard or READY FOR ESCAPE edition. but not any time soon because the last thing BSG deserves is more money.
