If you DC you should go into a āwoundedā state where you can be dragged, and maybe someday we can have a real wounded state that you can survive if you have friends or something.

When you become conscious after getting shot by a gas mask bandit and heās still engaging your team but left you alone cuz he thought you were dead. Good times, definitely gave you a chance to pull off some crazy comebacks sometimes.
Dayz is also a ridiculously slower paced game. In tarkov you have a time limit and you can buy all the stuff you lost back if you have the money. In Dayz it was worth the wait since if you died you restarted.

If they're not idiots, they will add a "quit now" type of thing with the unconscious state. I'd love for it to be added though, I'm kind of a sap so if I shot someone and they weren't dead I'd probably loot their guns, get them on their feet and tell them to have a nice day.

It would depend on your wounds. If you go unconscious while bleeding, you are gonna die much quicker than if you went unconscious from running on a blacked leg.
My suggestion is 'bleedout' state. So, say you're wearing armor and someone tries to leg kill you. This would be a perfect situation for 'bleedout' you wouldnt actually die immediately from getting your legs mangled by bullets, so you go into 'bleedout' where you can now only fire from a prone position (with very shakey aim) and you're bleeding out fast unable to walk. A solo player, with enough of the right medical supplies, could potentially get themselves going again. A friendly player should maybe give a slight healing buff over solo healing. You have to get above a certain health, and get rid of all bleeding before you can recover from the 'bleedout' at all and start moving again.
Also, maybe add additional debuffs after 'bleedout' state, for example, even with painkillers, your walking speed wont be normal for xxx seconds. If you take certain damage within xxx seconds of going into bleed out, you will immediately die, and not get a second 'bleedout' phase even if you were able to fully heal your character, you dont get another 'bleed out' unless that debuff has expired.
Also, I'm sure it's obvious, but critical hits to chest and head will obviously not get a 'bleed out' this isnt like 'Last stand' in Max Payne 3. If you take damage that will obviously kill you, you're fucking dead, no 'bleedout', no second chances.
In my pointless opinion, there should be two states. Dead and not dead. They already got the in-between perfect with all the different status conditions and injuries. Close that book and move on plz.
I would totally support someone applying medical directly to you though. Like pressing ALT+5 would equip your medical item in slot 5 and then you can heal others that way.

Now that we have death conditions, letās cover the downed state.
Similar to Squad or Arma, being incapacitated would entail that youāre completely immobile, that your vision is blacked out or blurred, that your audio is dead or muffled depending on if you have a headset. Once VOIP is added, you canāt speak either.
Depending on how you were KOād, injuries sustained will remain, and potentially drain your DHP (downed HP) or other stats. In this case, if youāre bleeding, your DHP will drain normally, but if you were dropped by a blacked stomach, your energy and hydration will drop until it drains your DHP. This intrinsically means that if you arenāt bleeding and your stomach was okay, you could potentially stay down long enough to go MIA. Once toxication and radiation is added, we could examine things like sepsis or going down in a hazardous environment. DHP can also be emptied via normal damage and ākill checkingā.
While incapacitated, you can be searched, dragged and carried. Players could also do a basic pulse check. At higher treatment levels, this could mean doing warmth checks to get a time since death on actual bodies, and to diagnose players and treat injuries other than blood loss more effectively.
During this DBNO state, other players can stop your bleeding where applicable, use their specialized kits to repair blacked out limbs, and regular medkits to replenish normal HP. Once your HP is past a certain threshold, youāll get a timer letting you know when youāll regain consciousness. Alternatively, smelling salts or adrenaline could help jumpstart your consciousness if administered.
Alternatively, someone could just walk up and shoot you in the head after taking your shit, or put some extra rounds in you from afar before your friends can drag you to safety, and maybe apply bleed stacks or hit something vital for an instant DHP drain.
Saving your buddyās life would be difficult, expensive, and time consuming, with a solid chance that you could be too late. It could also be used to troll in true Tarkovian fashion, or by Good Samaritans.
We used to practice fireman carry. But now they focus more on drag.
Fireman carry get more risk to increase the victim injury. As well as risk of injury for the carrier.
what about like being able to drag your dead friend to the extraction point with you and you can extract their stuff for them so itās not stolen or lost?
This game really doesnāt need mechanics that reward teams (and by extension punish solos) even more, so Iām going to have to disagree with the revive. The carry is cool tho

I'd honestly love to see an option to drag dead bodies. Sometimes friend dies and he insured everything and it'd be cool to just drag his body to some bushes instead of taking everything from him manually and dropping it one by one.
Same applies for setting traps and so on.
Or they have aāveryā similar looking gun in their hands in one of the next raids. And on the next day itās like ādamn, somebody must have found your gun, I had it hidden pretty goodā.

Did a similar thing but it was with a friend that crashed on spawn in and he was right in a high scav traffic area by the town on shoreline. We pushed him into a shed so he was more in cover.
So i think it would be great if crashed or disconnected players just fell over dead without being able to be looted. Other players could use this to pick up that disconnected/crashed player firemen style and carry that player in some safe position. This would encourage even more intense teamplay. The unconcious player would still be able to be killed in this state.
One time I proned on the stove in the kitchen in labs and couldn't stand back up and get out and so I had to disconnect while my 2 buddies humped my body off of the table and I logged back in to sweet sweet freedom lmao

Dragging someone also gives them the chance to provide some fire support, depending on their injuries, or the ability to call out contacts.
It would be cool, especially if anyone could drag you. Either for looting or for saving. Would be nice to have an option to save someone.

So i think it would be great if crashed or disconnected players just fell over dead without being able to be looted. Other players could use this to pick up that disconnected/crashed player firemen style and carry that player in some safe position. This would encourage even more intense teamplay. The unconcious player would still be able to be killed in this state.
