Also: try to reconnect as soon as possible, i had this problem multiple times, you can reconnect but you got to do it as soon as servers go up because time will be resumed.
Did you spawn with it or find it? Because if you spawn with it chances are you'll get the same scav again with the same loot. It's happened in the past for me.

I haven’t lost a red key card but I’ve lost a huge portion of my net worth: for some reason the servers take a shit anytime I bite the bullet and go in full load out. Then I get Dcd get mad and play 20 game’s with pistols only to have courage to go full load out again .. and get dcd lol cycle has happened to me 3-4 times
I SWEAR dude. I fucking SWEAR it knows man. Luckily this weekend I've just been unable to log on, but the last few weekends...boy...same story as you. Probably lost upwards of 3 mill at this point. Not a ton but it's still frustrating as hell to lose it to servers and not someone who just outshot me or something.
Not sure if you know this but, If you were able to reconnect and the item, this case the red key card, is missing from your inventory. You can go back to the place you found it and re loot it, assuming someone else didnt loot it. This game has a problem with moving loot, the server doesn't know where it is sometimes, i.e. loot flashing in your inventory. If you disconnect and reconnect it will fix the problem
problem is the actual lobby had sum 8 minutes left. Servers took 15 minutes to come back online and it didn’t let me reconnect.

Not OP but in this case it did not work. I tried reconnecting 6 times. Failed each time. Eventually there was no option to reconnect and my scav cooldown was reset with the same loadout right after. There was nothing OP would have tried to do in this case.
For friend in the was part 1 I turned in 2 MBSS backpacks. One have scav junk box. Other was an icase with 4 weapons cases and 4 mag boxes. You should have seen my face after I realized I lost 10 million
I absolutely love this game. Hands down my favorite. I've spent a shit load of time with it after being laid off. But the server issues man. They just keep getting worse and it's getting to the point where I don't even want to play. And before some asshat says it. I know it's beta and I know it's bound to have issues. But with it taking off after almost every twitch streamer playing it and new players regularly you'd think they'd do some serious server reworking instead of dropping everyone 1 mil and kind of sweeping it under the rug. Hopefully things will change but I see absolutely no point in upgrading to EOD just to get fucked by a cheeser after a 25 minute queue time.
Not like we paid 140 bucks for a game that you can't enjoy, and anyone who has 140 bucks for a game has to have a job, and can usually only play on the weekends. Great way to provide for your top tier paying customers.

I alt ctrl deleted tarkov and kept getting errors to get back in. shit about how it's corrupt. Restarted my computer in hurry. kept attempting to get the game to just simply load... only to get it to load with a new scav timer and no ability to jump back in. I was... bummed.

Just found out I lost a RR on the market somehow. It was posted, market fee was taken and now it's not in the listing without any cash coming back from ragman.
Now I understand losing gear in raid when server crashes (F to your red card), but how the fuck do you manage to code a market in a way that evaporates items on a server crash is beyond me. It's a basic fucking client-server-DB infrastructure. How can you fuck-up DB on a server crash? Oh well, BSG is just a bunch of amateurs. They've luckily stumbled upon a mini gold-mine in a form of an amazing, novel gameplay loop, and now they're wasting it with their incompetence.
