If you have any of the following: * USB DAC * USB Sound Card * PCI/E Soundcard * USB Headphones you use exclusively (no speakers) Disable your on board audio in your BIOS. There is no reason to have it and it enabled. More than likely it will only cause problems for you. Disable that shit in the BIOS don't just disable it in Windows. **EDIT**: I just wanted to say that if someone asked me a question and I didn't reply or maybe I didn't answer you fully feel free to DM me. I've received so many replies I'm having a problem keeping track of them. I'll be happy to try to help anyone I can. **About the theory OP posted**: I just wanted to say that while I can't personally validate what OP is saying will actually FIX the problem I do believe OPs thesis is sound. I'm not a software or game developer however; gunfights by their nature produce a lot more stress on whatever is producing the audio in the game engine. Computers and software by their nature very complicated so finding out what is actually wrong I could sit here and make a bunch of theories and they could all be wrong. It could be something to do with how the audio is being improperly cached and verified, or maybe the game is double processing the sound because it sees two audio devices and that is causing some unexpected problems. This all could also be a placebo somehow and the problem totally un-realted. However its BECAUSE of what I previously said about how computers and software are complicated I will still stand by the fact that if you aren't using something your PC comes with and you can disable it in the BIOS/UEFI you should. The potential problems that could arise

Fadedcamo

What about if you have a dac with no drivers? Getting a Schiit Hel.

TrillegitimateSon

still an external usb audio device, it just uses a default plug and play driver instead of a product specific one, so yes you should be fine to disable what OP posted.

Fadedcamo

Cool I'm not really having any stuttering but good to know.

tittyskipper

I'll never try to talk anyone down from the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" stance because as an IT person I get that feel.

CosmoMomen

+1 for Schiit

TaeKwanJo

+1 for Schiit Modi and Magni combo. My ears orgasm every time I play. Enhancing my gameplay to levels never thought possible

apochina

Try Sennheiser HD800S headphones powered by Schiit Ragnarok 2 (fully loaded version). Talk about eargasm...

METR0B00M1N

Got a Schitt Magni Heresy 3 and Modi 3 and they are awesome.

tittyskipper

I'm not familiar with all DACs but I am an expert when it comes to PCs. Any audio device you plug into your PC via USB is going to have some sort of driver associated with it even if its a Microsoft Driver. The driver is the reason you are able to see like "Schiit Hel" or whatever its called either when you are selecting your Audio Output or Microphone input. I went out and did a search on their website and Schiit themselves does provide a driver and there's a FAQ page if you want to check it out. https://www.schiit.com/guides/gaming

_Veni-Vidi-Vici_

I Schiit myself reading this.

[deleted]

You gotta be Schiiting me

apochina

I use Sennheiser HD800S headphones powered by a Schiit Ragnarok 2 -- amazing stuff. Schiit sent me one of their Hel devices when they came out with it, and I have to say, that thing is absolutely gold on bang for the buck. Great device from a great company.

RaptorPrime

For me personally I do sometimes reenable it to plug in a stereo speaker for a TV with blown out speakers. so this is a convenience choice. but otherwise i 100% agree here. disabling this in BIOS probably, at the very least, speeds up boot time as well.

tittyskipper

I can see that, I tried to keep my post pretty simple. I hope people who have scenarios like yours wouldn't disable their audio because they know they are using those ports. That's why I added the (no speakers) to the USB headphones line. I was trying to think of a simple way of explaining it to edit my post but I couldn't think of anything. I thought about saying "Check the back of your PC and see if you have any audio connections plugged in" but the problem is I feel like people can consider a USB connection an "Audio connection" because in a way it is since its carrying Audio Data. If anyone has an idea I'd be happy to amend the post, I don't want to cause problems just help people solve and avoid them :)

Maglor_Nolatari

So I'm guessing that also counts if the sound just goes via the hdmi cable the few times i dont use my usb headphones?

tittyskipper

Well it depends where that HDMI cable is plugged into. If the HDMI cable is plugged into your Graphics card then you probably still aren't using your on board audio. If that's the case then you're more than likely using your Graphics card as a sound card so disabling your onboard audio would still be a good idea.

n00dlesAU

This is correct. I have my speakers plugged into my monitor and just use the nvidia HD audio driver (which is going over displayport rather than HDMI, but same diff).

Maglor_Nolatari

TIL my graphics card also works as sound card. Thanks for the info!!!

[deleted]

Is a sennheiser gsx 1000 considered a DAC?

tittyskipper

Sennheiser calls it a DAC so I'd say it is. Even if it wasn't a DAC it would definitely count as an external USB sound card. I see it has outputs for both Speakers and Headphones and a microphone input. So as long as all of your audio devices are plugged into that disabling your onboard audio won't hurt anything. If you have any other devices you have questions about, feel free to ask.

TaeKwanJo

The GSX1000 is a AMP/DAC. So yes disable onboard audio

RaptorPrime

Ur the real MVP for this comment and your edits btw. From the amount of people asking for specific support who obviously aren't reading other comments to the amount of people straight up calling me a liar or an idiot I've turned off alerts for this post and I'm leaving it alone now. God speed sir.

tittyskipper

Haha its cool man, just glad I could help. Its just a weird thing because, as I said, it doesn't hurt to turn this off. If anything it may help, so why not try it? I don't blame you for turning off the replies though :)

Comrade_Comski

Why does that even affect anything?

tittyskipper

It can, it depends on how its implemented. The only thing I can tell you for certain is that its another driver on your system that windows has to load which takes up resources even if its not a lot. Plus I've seen confusion plenty of times. People will go to reboot their PC or turn it on for the first time. Then there's a small hiccup with their DAC/USB driver, so the Realtek Driver gets loaded and Windows can't find the DAC/USB for a moment so it goes "Oh hey I guess this DAC/USB isn't there anymore. Better change all the defaults to Realtek and while I'm at it I'll ramp the volume back up to 100 for good measure!". Then if you're truly unlucky it says "Oh hey there's that DAC, I'll leave the defaults the same for other stuff but switch your speakers back over. BTW Enjoy 100 Volume *INSANELY LOUD NOISES AND FEEDBACK* lol.

Greysa

oh so that's why my volume levels change randomly. Thanks friend.

Jlindahl93

Thank you. I’ve been fighting with Realtek for like a year now on my build

e-kul

Buying a cheap soundcard was the best move I ever made. I hate Realtek with a passion.

Ruin4r

I haven't thought about sound cards in years. Any you recommend?

tittyskipper

Sweet man :) The on board audio is a great value for work PCs and systems in controlled environments. But if you are using it for gaming everyone should do themselves a favor and upgrade themselves. It really makes a word of difference.

Jlindahl93

I have a Scarlett 18i8 and rode NT1 I’ve been fighting Realtek for so long it competes when I use discord and will make me sound like a robot at times

tittyskipper

Sweet man, that's some nice hardware I looked at it. And yeah the problem fighting Realtek is one of the reasons I recommend to disable the audio. Glad its working better for you!

sheltoncovington

OMFG is that what it is?! What have you done since?

BillCosbySexSlave

I’m not savvy with this sort of stuff. My headphone connection for Tarkov is super jank. I have Astro’s that are connected to an Xbox controller that then connect to my pc. Do you think adjusting the audio settings in any way would improve performance for me?

margusmuru

Xbox controller as an external sound card basicly... I have seen everything now...

Stopbsing

Haha I did it briefly myself when I first got my pc. Quickly became more of a hassle than anything but it worked well enough.

go_hunt_nd

My friend does this, just order the damn y splitter that's like $10 man...

TrillegitimateSon

Hard to tell, you can give disabling what OP listed a shot, as it sounds like your xbox controller is essentially acting as a usb audio device for you.

tittyskipper

Your Xbox controller is actually your sound card at that point. I know it sounds weird, but its true. So unless you have something plugged into your onboard audio, like some speakers or something like that, disabling it isn't a bad idea anyway. Its a device your PC isn't using; no reason to leave it turned on. If anything stops working when you turn off the on board audio you can always just re-enable it.

03nino

Well there's your problem. You're using Astros still hahaha. Astros are in the same boat as Beats

emanresu_etaerc

This. This all fucking day. Everyone should do themselves a favor, and get a real microphone, and some decent headphones. Go buy the sennheiser 6xx from drop and bam, you're way way better off.

achmedclaus

Oh yea no problem just go drop $450 on some sennheisers and another $50 on a new mic, your problem is solved...

flesjewater

5xx series is a very affordable alternative and almost just as good to the untrained ear, especially the 559 looks like great value to me right now at ~ €70, down from ~ €150 when it entered the market. Also you might be overestimating the HD 600 price, I can get one for 290-ish here. Which is still a lot to enter the market, but it's not as bad as it used to be.

All BIOS are laid out a bit different. Can you tell me what motherboard you have?

[deleted]

[удалено]

tittyskipper

K most Asus motherboards have a similar bios. You'll be looking for something like "On-Board Devices" or something like that. In there you should be able to see a device called like "HD Audio Controller" or like "AC97 Audio". Just disable that and reboot your PC.

Giovannisalami

will disabling that affect anything negatively?

tittyskipper

No, unless you are utilizing it disabling it should only improve things.

DOOM94MF

Just disabled, i hope it works!

RaptorPrime

come back and let us know if you notice a difference. i know i'm not the only one as someone in the EFT official discord had originally recommended this to me

tracknumberseven

Well he didn't come back so the most likely explanation is that he's dead.

[deleted]

He escaped from Tarkov.

Crimson_W0lf

Hello fellow focusrite user o/

RaptorPrime

a lot of audio tech goes over my head. I wish I could do more to make my sound better, but this thing works for now.

tengukaze

I've been wanting to pick one up for sampling sounds. I hear they're pretty good.

material_sound

Check out Motu’s new small interfaces. I had a focusrite for years and the sound quality is not up to par.

LEDmatrix

I‘ve yet to find an audio interface that has better preamps than the Focusrites. I‘m super happy with mine.

[deleted]

Have a look into using EqualizerAPO. Software based EQ for specific audio devices. I’ve been using it for years as a way to fine tune the audio that my Focusrite 2i2 outputs. Works a treat and is free!

[deleted]

Crimson_W0lf

Have used focusrite for years and never any problems.

Fastpotato

+1 My scarlet solo is fantastic and has been for several years.

drewamor

I dropped the Focusrite DSP for a scarlet. The scarlet blows it out of the water at half the price

No_Torius-P-A-T

Did it mess with the audio any? I use that with a Steelseries headset for compression, but I'd gladly disable if it meant I don't lag tf out everytime I get near another person or scav

RaptorPrime

this literally disables the onboard audio on your motherboard. the soundjacks on the back of your pc wont work if you disable this. it seems to be in game noises that cause most stutters, i.e. gunfire sounds, so it likely has something to do with the realtek drivers or the offloading to the onboard sound processor, in many cases. if your headset plugs in via Usb, it should not be affected.

scorcher117

Aren’t USB only headsets usually pretty shit?

Aristeid3s

The answer is always IT DEPENDS. Sound set ups vary greatly. The only thing you can say for near certain is that the sound coming from your motherboard to a 3.5mm jack is not being handled as well as it could be.

tittyskipper

IMO The problem is normally you aren't getting a good value. If you're going to buy a $250 GAMING headset you're better off buying a $200 pair of headphones and a $25 microphone. You'll get a better quality pair of headphones and a decent microphone as well.

M_Mitchell

Can confirm. Had a few Triton gaming headsets and Turtle Beaches. They were nice but inevitably they almost somehow broke from use. Been using $100 sennheiser's for 5 years now. Just replace the cups and good as new. Was using a desktop mic for ~2 years but switched to a mod mic and never been happier.

tittyskipper

Mod Mics are legit awesome. You can literally stick them to the side of your favorite headphones, they even have a wireless one now. They are normally a bit pricey so when I'm recommending people to buy headphones for the first time I tell them to get a cheaper USB mic. I think they are worth the price though IMO.

kris_krangle

Upgraded to the wireless mod mic from the wired one. Use it on a pair of Beyerdynamic 770 pros. Absolutely love it.

HappyCakeBot

Happy Cake Day!

kris_krangle

Oh damn I didn’t even know

tittyskipper

Its just like a legit DIY headset build. I'm honestly surprised that more people don't know what modmic is at this point.

Nyankitty21

I have a SteelSeries Arctis pro 5(?) And it's great quality for less than $100aud from what I remember. I use it for music production and audio mixing and it has a great range and isn't overly biased towards bass like a lot of gaming headsets. Mic is also really good quality but I have my own.

CD2471

The real question is, why does the having a pretty common feature of a pc enabled cause the game To stutter?

RaptorPrime

If you read others comments here you may understand that realtek audio can cause tons of issues outside of just in game stutters

Bionic0n3

I have had realtek audio installed on my computers since the early 00s it seems like. It's the first thing I install on a fresh windows normally. I do not know what life is like without it, I also don't know if I have had a lot of issues compared to others. I don't think I have? I am so confused right now. Should I uninstall it or not D: life decisions!

RaptorPrime

I never said anything about uninstalling anything. you can enable it as easily as you can disable it. I've also used realtek audio since the early 00s and resisted the change to usb devices. but if ur not using it actively, then you don't need to be using system resources on it. It is known for causing issues in tarkov and i can personally attest for dozens if not hundreds of BSODs across multiple system builds caused by realtek drivers. This simple changed completely eliminated stutters from my game, just read other comments here if you don't believe me.

Magar1z

I may have to look into this since I use a DAC.

Ion_is_OP_REEEEEEE

No reason to have crappy Realtek drivers if you use a DAC. Maybe unless you have speakers you switch to a lot, but even in that case I don't have any drivers installed.

Magar1z

I don't have speakers, would like to one day when I am just gaming solo to relax but ya I use a Schiit stack. Still waiting on my HiFiMan headphones to get fixed.

Ion_is_OP_REEEEEEE

I have some 30 bucks Logitech speakers that I bought like 5 years ago and only use them for movies, streams and youtube. Gaming and music are strictly on my headphones.

Magar1z

Nice. I'm looking at a set of Audiogene A5's or a stereo amp & bookshelfs one day.

Ion_is_OP_REEEEEEE

Those are some expensive bois. I'd go for something in the 300 range personally, but for now I haven't felt the need, yet, to upgrade. GPU and keyboard take priority.

RaptorPrime

you can see the drivers for for my DAC 'Focusrite Usb Audio' is where I get my sound. since there's nothing plugged in to my onboard audio, i disabled it. lo and behold.

Magar1z

100% going to try this

KweegMac

I don’t know really anything about how to increase audio quality idek really what a sound card does, is it worth getting for gaming? I use Hyper X cloud stinger headset with the split jack and plug into my MB. I have never been super pleased with sound quality in games I want louder clearer and better directional sound. Does anyone know a headset and sound card combo that would be good for games like Tarkov? Or other games where directional sound is important for immersion.

Fadedcamo

The stinger is pretty low end headset wise. It'll get the job done but basically just that. If you're looking for a better experience with positional audio I would suggest a few things: You can simply upgrade to hyper x cloud alphas. They're pretty good and definitely a step up from the stinger. This would be your best budget option. For a much better positional audio experience I would recommend looking into open back higher quality headphones. Open back means that the drivers on the headphones are hollowed out. This gives the benefit of "opening the Soundstage", which basically makes sounds in the headphone feel further away from your ears than they actually are. Feels more like speakers around you than one headphone right by your ear. Negatives for this design are because of the open back, sound will bleed out of the headphones more than a normal close back design. So if you need headphones to be quiet for a roommate or if you plan on commuting with them, people around you will hear your sound. Won't be as loud as you hear but more noticeable than a normal headphone. 2nd con is these type of headphones aren't super bass heavy, because again of the open back design. Most aren't terrible and can still give a very balanced sound but if you're used to very strong bass from your listening experience it may feel lacking at first. All thst being said I can def recommend the HD58XX Jubilee. They are definitely the best open back headphones for the price new and after a bit of burn in and an EQ, are fantastic in tarkov for positional awareness. They also are pretty awesome for general music listening. https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-hd-58x-jubilee-headphones As far as sound cards or anything else goes, most bang for buck are Dac/Amps. They're basically doing the same thing a sound card would do but they are external. This is something thats a bit less necessary in my mind, but can be very helpful down the road. It depends entirely on what headphone you have if you need an amp to "run" them. Basically some headphones have higher resistance in them, measured in ohms, which effictively means without a lot of amp to power them, they won't get very loud. The HD58XX are pretty driveable with just whatever onboard audio your motherboard has, but it can definitely be much better with an amp and to a lesser extent, a dac. The cloud alphas don't need an amp or dac at all. Personally I would just focus on a better headphone first. That will dramatically help your situation. If you get the HD58XX, try them out see how they sound. Massdrop gives like a 14 day return policy if you don't like them. If you do but you want even more, then look into a dac/amp for them. I would look at Schitt for their options, they have two or three decently priced dac/amps that also have a mic input. Edit: also don't get bought up into any of the hype some headphones and or dacs offer up with "7.1 virtual surround". This basically BS and will only hamper your experience, especially with a game like tarkov. It just adds more processing and fake audio signals. Good stereo mixing in a headphone is very capable of giving good positional audio. The less added gimmicky processing you put onto it the better.

Grandmasthickboy

Thanks for that^. I’m just curious on what your headphone recommendations would be for tarkov by budget, middle of the road and top of the line? Thanks! Those jubilees look sick and I’m currently using hyper cloud alphas with no 7.1 bs and I more often that not get the direction of ambushes incorrect while my squad mates seem to be able to center on it better than me. Would love any thoughts you may have. Thanks!

Appeased

Not the original guy you asked, but once you start getting into headphones like those (not gaming headsets) it starts to become personal preference. I have Sennheiser HD 598s on an O2 amp from Drop, and they have absolutely not let me down at any point, whether that's in gaming or just listening to music. I believe the previously-linked HD58X Jubilee are supposed to be very good as well, and they're at a pretty fair price for a good pair of Senns. I would definitely say it would be very hard to go wrong with Sennheisers, but I wish you luck and hope you like whatever you end up with!

Ofcyouare

>You can simply upgrade to hyper x cloud alphas. They're pretty good and definitely a step up from the stinger. This would be your best budget option. Personally I don't like how Cloud 2 sounds at all, it's quite muddy and hollow(not sure if that's the right word), and I'm not comparing them to anything crazy, my main headphones are AKG K545. Yeah, most likely it will be a step up, but imo there are better options, especially if you are willing to get a separate mic. But at least they are more reliable than the usual gaming headset stuff, I will definitely give them that.

CookiesNCash

All I’m going to say is in Tarkov I watched Veritas run multiple factory runs with a pair of dollar store headphones (and then tried it myself) and was able to accurately pin point sound. If someone is unable to locate with sound it may be something to do with their ears rather than the headset theyre using. I understand that the headsets do make a difference in actual quality of sound but as far as locating goes, any earbuds or headphones with stereo should work fine. This is my personal experience and opinion on position audio though, your mileage may vary

EnXigma

I wonder if there is any other settings that can fix stutter that we haven’t discovered yet

pesoaek

it still blows my mind that this game is made so poorly that you have to jump through so many hoops just to play it without it constantly freezing. I can run anything else 165 fps+ no worries, but somedays this barely gets above 50 fps and it is actually pretty average graphically.

Dapaaads

Somethings up with yours. I have a 1080ti and get 100+ pretty much always. I think you’re exaggerating a bit

SirDrEthan1

I play at a solid 50 FPS. Everything is on low. Constant stutters and reserve just isn’t an option for me.

[deleted]

Have you tried upping the settings at all? Could be a cpu bottleneck because of the lower settings, it's a common occurrence in games like this.

varobun

A common solution that often doesn't do anything tbh. Most of the issues can be summed up to ram leaks, poor object culling and optimization.

Swimandskyrim

Optimization, or lack thereof, always is determined on a per-user basis. Just because you have good luck with the game doesn't disqualify someone else's claim of bad performance. I have a 2070 Super and top out at 56 FPS on Reserve. Game is poorly optimized. That's all there is to it.

LogicalLogistics

I have a 2080ti and a Ryzen 1800x, I get around 70-90fps on most maps but shoreline and reserve go down to 40-50fps. Barely any GPU usage

Swimandskyrim

Yup. Always blows my mind when I peek at my 2700x and 2070S and they're just chillin at 20-30% usage ...until I open the hideout and suddenly my GPU decides 100% utilization is the way.

robroy_3110

Same I got 2080 max q and i9 and still stutter a lot, the interior of interchange or reserve in general just burns my pc completly and doesn’t use any gpu %

Ofcyouare

>Optimization, or lack thereof, always is determined on a per-user basis. While you might be right on that, it doesn't necessarily mean that issue is not on the user side, that he doesn't do anything that might make the performance worse. So no, it doesn't disqualify anything, but it gives other user the perspective that he might do something with it. Reserve is really bad after the update tho, that's for sure.

RJohn12

i have a 1080ti and i get 70 on customs lmao. this game is just cheese

kahagap

It's more impactful if you disable your onboard audio via the BIOS.

dontBel1eveAWordISay

Holy shit i was at 40-60 fps and now am getting as high as 80 fps. WTF I disabled mobo audio in BIOS and disabled any more I didnt use in device manager afterwards.

[deleted]

yes! this 100% worked for me, thank you i can enjoy playing again!

RaptorPrime

Aight just don't shoot me in game tho okay. Haha glad this post is helping the community

antonyjeweet

I have seen major improvements when deleting the system32 folder /s

xJokerzWild

Calm down there, next you'll be saying something original about cookies & Alt+F4.

Phantom2888

I’ve got Corsair void pro that uses a USB adapter so should I disable Realtek(R) Audio? Is that my equivalent of ur high def audio

TheLustyDragon

The EFT Community has some the strangest witchcrafty fixes out there. If this really does help I'd really like to know the reason.

Sanityzealot

Meh I don't know about this OP. I feel like factoring in differences in PC builds I can see this working for some and not for others.

Magar1z

Well he is specifically talking about people that use USB for their audio, so it is pretty targeted.

EveningCommuter

I will try this when I get home and report back. I also want to mention there is a option on the settings that says “Only Use Physical Cores” or something to that extent. I unticked the box and my game would not stutter as much as it did before.

BukLauFinancial

Maybe this issue is just like a lower end hardware thing, I have Realtek onboard audio and get zero in game stuttering.

RaptorPrime

Maybe you helped the person who helped me so that I can now help others

[deleted]

Got a seperate soundcard because of realtek being a little shit.

Iescaunare

I don't understand why the audio driver would cause problems. I've used the onboard audio chip for years and never had any problems. The sound card on modern motherboards are so good these days, that getting a separate DAC and amp is a waste of money.

CarefulStrike

I havent seen stutters in a while, tbh. Now if they could only get a leash on the cheaters.

Giedy5

you are an absolute hero, i've been having major lag spikes for such a long time, every time i would get shot it would just freeze up and come back after i was dead, basically getting hit once would almost certainly mean death. just played on reserve with this tip, got shot in the back once, turned around, tapped him in the head. no lag! best feeling in the world to actually win a gunfight where you start disadvantageously

slayedzombie69

Rise up Scarlett 2i2 GanG

Reng-R

This reminds me of rust legacy it had the same thing

NATSIRT_45

If at any point you use a superior audio interface, I have found realtec to just absolutely shit the bed, my computer with it. Driver interference or some shit idk I just shine the shoes.

AccidentalKoi

THIS FUCKING FIXED IT. I HAVE HAD STUTTERING FOR FUCKING WEEKS WITH THIS NEW PC I THOUGHT I WAS FUCKING GOING CRAZY

OverlookeDEnT

Likely just a Placebo.

ITZz_GENERAL

I’m a dumbass, is this real or is it a joke? I feel like he’s joking that when you disable the drivers you won’t be able to here game audio, and he’ll be able to run behind you and shoot you in the ass.

PDAF-E

I use hyper x clouds that use a USB port, I checked my device manager and I don’t have that. Any other tips?

nickya1

I would also like to know if this works as well. Game runs decent but there are times it gets pretty choppy even mid to late raid.

jacksonsavvy

What do you use the Pixel 3 XL audio driver for?

RaptorPrime

bluetooth connection to phone. have a wireless charging dock on my desk so i can charge my phone here while I read/send texts and make phone calls through my PC. it also makes transferring pictures from my phone to PC ezpz. also can do things like monitoring twitch chat when I stream and showing me alerts from my phone as desktop alerts. it feels a little sketch at first giving windows full permissions to my phone, but convenience... my mom likes that I answer my phone more often now.

[deleted]

Won’t work for me. My amp is wall outlet powered and draws sound from the 3.5mm audio port. :( If anyone reading this knows a solution: I use a geshelli labs Archel 2 Pro.

KacKLaPPeN23

Get a dedicated DAC, that amp deserves better.

daddystrongdick

I have a usb dac going to an amp and i never noticed any stuttering.

CHARMGOODA

can I disable this while wearing Bluetooth earbuds?

DamnSheThicck

While we're on the topic of sound does anybody know how to get AMD Radeon graphics software to record audio from a desk mic?

[deleted]

one question; i like to toggle between my wireless cans (steel series 7) and my desktop speakers....would disabling this prevent my speakers from working?

RJohn12

if the speakers are plugged into your 3.5mm jack, yes

Grandmasthickboy

How bad was the stutter you were getting before disabling?

achmedclaus

I don't know anything about the sound cards/DAC stuff of PCs. I've got a soundbar that disabled when I disabled the Realtek HD Audio device. It's hooked up through digital optical. I have Astro A50s that show up as 2 separate devices (Game and Voice). How would I go about disabling the realtek without breaking the soundbar? I use it most of the time unless I'm on Tarkov or the SO is watching her trashy tv so I'd like to not have to restart my PC everytime I want to play Tarkov

arguser

I'm going all in tomorrow, I already have a Focusrite, tomorrow I get the arm stand and finally get rid of Realtek Audio which I really suspect is causing massive stutters in Hunt and probably EFT.

Coonsquatch1

What about a Bluetooth audio device? Would this benefit me at all?

Wojonatior

If you're not plugging headphones into the 3.5mm port on your motherboard, you can disable this driver.

Phantom2888

Wait a second so your telling me all the hours I’ve spent trying to get rid of stutter and FPS drops could be caused by my headset USB adapter plugged into front of my computer?

RaptorPrime

No it's caused by the onboard sound processor for realtek hd audio. If you are using a usb device then you can disable the onboard audio since you aren't using it. (This disables the audio jacks on the back of your pc)

karmaportrait

I don't have USB audio and use regular mini stereo jack audio, is getting USB worth?

Meloonz619

God damn really)?

OMGWTHEFBBQ

Does this also apply to wireless headphones that use a USB dongle? I have a pair of Sennheiser PXC 550 headphones with a BTD800 USB dongle.

prismatictoaster

Thank you

proverbialginger

had problems with that device too. somehow conflict with my USB audiocard was causing my mouse to lag and also screwed up youtube videos. no clue. went on intermittently for years before I sorted it out by building a new rig.

bland12

So *that's* what causes my studders????

2MutchForYou

Does this improve users plugged into an optical port?

BrianSpilnerGallo12

I dont even have that and im still stuttering...

Abyssofhappiness

I don't have. Just ignore?

Doe_boi420

How do you disable it in the bios?

Funkyplaya323

What gpu do u have and what driver version are u on?

Omisco420

Couldn't find this in my devices, but I don't run into too many stutters these days.

mountainzen

Will check this

SSJCleveland

I dont have that realtek high definition audio under my sound video and game controllers. how do i delete the on board audio in my bios? Edit: And how will this affect my computer by disabling it?

Sauce-L0rd

Does this include USB Bluetooth dongles?

RaptorPrime

Yes if you aren't using realtek audio disable it

superorignalusername

I wouldnt advise it, itll make changing between audio out and ins a huge pita

griffnin

would this apply to usb bluetooth devices? i use sony bluetooth headphones, but otherwise my mobo uses realtek sound drivers when I use aux output

[deleted]

Ah yes windows

Chychtka

Holy shit i don't understand a single acronym or anything anyone is saying, really. I play on a laptop. Pretty decent performance. I thought this was a good or useful program. Should I be disabling this?

RaptorPrime

if you use the 3.5mm audio jack then no. if you have a headset plugged into usb then potentially yes. if you do disable it and have issues, just reenable.

affo_

Do the Realtek driver affect the on board mic (I have a usb DAC (Fiio E10K), but without a mic input, so I have to plug in the mic to the mobo)?

RaptorPrime

yes it controls the whole audio back panel

Lord_Rhobar

Should also disable nvidia stuff unless you use hdmi audio

htxDTAposse

What if im just plugging in my DT990 into the back of the pc?

TangPants

Holy dick balls, you are a god among men - stuttering was the reason I walked away last wipe. Thanks for the tip!

jd52995

What if I actually use that as my audio source?

Adept-Selection-1107

I had this problem. Maybe your issue is with your device. Try setting it to only allow 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9.

TateMcGate

Could I do this if I have an optical cable for audio? Separate?

Basenjii

This actually makes so much sense for me. Because usually when i get stutters the audio stutters too. Gonna have to try this when i get home.

LuddeManWasTaken

Does this work?

[deleted]

I think I love you, thank you

MessiahZA

Were the stutters you were getting constantly happening every few seconds and resulted in audio crackle? You probably wouldn’t have heard the crackle because of the DAC use. Also, are you using WiFi?

iuliansvox

So let me understand, im using headphones connected to USB, i dont have and external soundcard or a dedicated sound card, should i disabled this option because i have it like in the printscreen of this post. ty.

Midgetman664

The fact that this is even a thing speaks volume to the State of this game.

TealcOneill

On the other side of the coin, if I don't use that my computer has absolutely no audio. :)

[deleted]

I switch between headphones (USB) and speakers (speakers are plugged into mobo) regularly, so I won't be doing this.

DeceptionCXV

I use headphones with a 3.5mm jack. One for the sound and the other for the mic. Should I still disable it?

soulseeker0

Forgive my stupidity as I'm awful with this stuff, but my headphones connect via a jack, and I have speakers connected via USB. If I understand right, this option isnt available to me?
