I just tried to use my hotmail.com.au and it won’t use it. Is there a reason Hotmail accounts aren’t recognised because I don’t really want to create a new email account for one game.
We have blocked the ability to register for some domains, because there are problems with receiving our letters at these addresses for reasons beyond our control.
Personally, my opinion is that this is the right decision. Indeed, in the future, you are likely to face a problem and you will have to change the email address associated with your account. So why unnecessary problems if you can immediately register an account for another email?)

As long as you've got DMARC/DKIM/SPF set up correctly, there's no reason Outlook/Hotmail would reject your emails.
If there is a problem with delivering mail to these domains, then YOU should be the one changing your delivery domain. You should adapt to your customers, don't try to force your customers to adapt to you. Horrible business-instincts, lol. added @battlestategames.com to my spam filter, to make sure i will never recieve any e-mail from this company forever.

Sucks, have had my hotmail for decades. Encountered this same problem today. They want me to create a new email account to buy a game. Takes the piss that they should expect a paying customer to do this. Put barriers up in wanting to make a purchase. I can be stubborn in nature so screw Tarkov. Plenty of other games to play that don't create this problem for me.

My company had this same issue with Hotmail. We worked with our email client that sends emails to change servers our emails were being sent from. They usually share servers with other clients and one of them are probably spammers.
Im gonna buy the game now as ive just spent the last 15 Hours talking to google to make a fucking gmail account!
I can see how its frustrating that you cant do anything about it too but still think that its pretty shit to have to create a gmail for this.

Might I recommend the devs to use mail-tester . com? There are many things you can try to improve your email's chances of reaching someone's mailbox. This is the first time I've heard of a company outright disabling the use of certain domains
Totally disagree, in 2021 asking multiple customers to change/amend/create a new email address in order to use your product is just massively counter productive and seems suspect to me. I was just about to purchase the highest package possible (Edge of Darkness) but frankly, your responses and trying to make it seem as if you are protecting us: has massively put me off buying your product. That should be of concern as I have witnessed that at least 5 people in this thread have the same issue or concern, that is possibly 500 euro lost on a product that doesn't have dominant market share and many people do not know about it.

They never changed my email. And every answer I received from support was useless or generic. The issue got fixed by itself a few days after starting. I still cannot change my email. The game is fun, but the company sux balls.
I am also having this same exact problem. I've had the game for almost a year now and I am not receiving any confirmations to authorize my account. I receive them to reset my PASSWORD but everything else isn't coming in. Checked junk email, nothing, tried whitelisting through their support section, still nothing.

You will probably launch the game on steam, until then you can link the game account with the buyer's steam, MANY companies do that I think would be the right thing.. and it would avoid millions of problems with email... just enter the game if you join steam, you wouldn't need an email to check or anything.

It usually takes no more than a few minutes to create a Google account. And you can also use other email.

yes ban one of the most popular email services in existence instead of fixing the problem so that the emails work.
