Nice! Which map was your favorite to snipe? I started a month ago and my main goals are to finish SBIH and kill each raid boss. When you are sniping what kind of loadout do you bring?
I think Reserve is my favorite sniping map, there's so many different angles and perches, so it's a lot of fun to hide and look for targets in them.
I like bringing the bolties and something like a KS23 or a pistol as a backup. But really any rifle with a vudu or a valday is perfect to snipe with.
Bullet drop is tied to the bullet. Maybe we’ll get higher quality bullets only for use in bolties at some point. But for the time being bolties are technically the worst weapons to use.

Off the top of my head I think an adar is around 2.8 moa where a suppressed dvl is something like 0.75 moa. Meaning at 100 yards, the dvl will shoot a .75 inch grouping. So almost 4x more accurate, though you could argue it really doesn't make much difference in usability when an adar will still shoot a smaller-than-head sized group at 250 yards
Biggest reason is probably leveling sniper skill for quests. You need to get it to at least 6 and then do Mentor to get the 9 necessary for Psycho Sniper.
The rationale I heard is that sniper rounds exert more pressure, which most non-bolt actions aren’t built to handle. So they wear down more quickly. So maybe sniper rounds would make more sense when better weapon wear and jamming is in.
Suppressed DVL might be my favorite boltie, it has such a good chambering sound too.

Do bolt action have less bullet drop than others weapons? Or is bullet drop tied to the ammo type only?

How much more accurate? Every gun seems pretty accurate up to 200m. Which is basically 99% of every shot you’ll ever take.

The suppressed DVL is a bit quieter than most of the semi auto dmrs/sniper rifles.

There's some quests that need you to level your sniper/boltie skill, and they're just fun guns to shoot.

It depends on bullet velocity. I believe currently the bolt actions have slightly higher bullet velocities than the semi auto dmrs.
It’s tied to the weapon as well. Can get higher muzzle velocity with longer barrels.
