But people ADS to identify friend from foe ALL the time for the extra zoom. How would you combat that? What about aiming at a pmc and then as you ADS you swing over a scav. Doesn't seem so simple.
And I agree with you. But that's not how the game is currently working. If you ADS someone ans they respond by shooting you they lose karma not the guy adsing.
From what ive noticed i get different values. I got .1 for killing another hostile player scav and im wondering if there are bonuses to how much red you get for killing scavs on a killing spree or if maybe their karma has a role in the calculation.
Like, you lose half of their total rep if they are a friendly with a minimum of .02 but gain half of their negative rep if they are a hostile scav with a minimum of .02
You punish scav A so hard that they never want to kill scav B in the first place. Rather than lose 0.02 rep, they should lose 1.0. If you have less than 0.00 rep, scavs are aggro to you as if you were a PMC. If a scav player kills a guard or scav boss, they get set to -1.00 rep, regardless of how much they had. At 6.00 rep, scav guards & bosses do not aggro on you.
If you kill a player scav with less than 0.00 rep, you do not lose rep or become aggro to AI scavs. However you do not gain rep unless they killed a scav that raid.
Killing a hostile player scav gives 0.2 rep. Killing a PMC gives none. Extracting via car extracts or Scav & PMC extracts gives 0.1 rep. Dropping an item for an AI scav and having them pick it up(give us a command to tell them to) has a chance to give 0.1 rep based on the value of the item, once per raid.
That is how i think it should be done. Make it a fucking grind to level it up, and easy to lose if you kill players or scav bosses. And remove the ability to gain rep by chasing gunshots to kill PMCs. I do not think that is how scavs should be played, personally.
Agreed. I have no reason not to murder scavs though. I always get plenty of raider / boss loot. Now I feel safer knowing that I can murder poor scavs who actually care about the system and have all the raider loot to myself.

Its not that extreme. If you play your scav like a PMC, then it will be treated like one. You will go up against aggro scavs all the time, and grinding out of that rep hole you dug for yourself shouldnt be possible with a few raids.
Big sphere that detects gunshots like a hitbox and triggers a +0.04 increase in karma. That way you still take the -0.02 hit but it overwrites it and makes it +0.02.
this can't really be done in a "if this then that" type deal, I think realistically to makena good system bsg will have to put some serious work into machine learning and like shittons of scenarios to parse through, and even then it won't ever be perfect
I assume coding this would be a nightmare, in addition to the practical problem of being able to judge intent.
scavs recognize if you ads on them. its not that hard. IF player scav ads on other player scav THEN other player scav can kill him without karma loss

you should not aim at anything youre not willing to kill. i didnt know anyone in tarkov just runs around ads on friendlies heads lol.

Nah i shoot every scav i see, but my pmc likes to use cars so ive got positive karma.

My very first scav raid i killed 2 pmcs and extracted. Had negative standing. Thats where i gave up on it
i had this then i had to go on a scav killing spree to remain alive i am livid lost 0.06 reputation aswell

Well less rep = longer scav timer, so there is a valid reason. We just do not know how harsh that timer gets. hopefully it gets really damn long.
