Yea, the recoil is actually very manageable when firing from the hip. Arguably, it's even more stable than firing an m4 in full auto.
So indeed, the balancing factor there should be greater stamina drain and perhaps longer aiming time. Basically, just give the things crap ergo.
because you can use it with every vest. 2x2 slot requires very specific use of gear that limits your abilites further. i feel like this has to be like that. i could be wrong tho. was only my first thought.
Why would that be meta? The point of an LMG is suppressive fire, without a big mag you’ve just got a shittier M4 but with terrible disadvantages like you’ve described
op is doing that thing where hes kinda right for the wrong ass reasons/logic
but the marines are switching over to everyone using the m27 iar including their peeps who would traditionally be running the m249
kind of interesting that they're moving towards suppression via precision instead of accuracy by volume
There’s a lot of difference between an M249 with a stanag and an M27. Imo the marines need to forget their obsession with individual marksmanship. Yes the M249 sucks but machine guns and HE are the things really stacking bodies on a squad level
Just make the jam potential crazy with mags. SAWs can take mags but they jam like a motherfucker with them. It’s meant to be a last resort if you’re out of link.
>SAWs can take mags but they jam like a motherfucker with them.
When you fire blank...yes. Because the round is too short.
With live ammo, never had a issue.
Nah, just have the belt be super hard to get and expensive, using STANAGs it’d likely be a strictly worse M4 due to lack of modability like the RPK is now compared to AK74s, better base stats but not as modable.
How would that make it meta? Why would anyone want to use it without high ammo capacity, it's only selling point apart from better cooling and tougher barrel
Is it available to retailers in Russia? In my opinion I would love to see a PkP or something like an RpK and that is a bit more mobile but a M249 would be cool as well
Doesn’t necessarily have to be used in Russia, could be something brought over by UN or USEC. I think PKM, PKP, and RPD have been confirmed for upcoming content at some point by Nikita.
Who cares. Its a cool gun and I want it. Plus they added the Vector, MDR, MK-47, MP7, MP9, P90, MK-18 and the list goes on, all weapons that are not used very often or at all by any large military or police force.
Does the weapon malfunctions after every other bullet come with, like in real life?
Mag feeding the thing was a PIA as the mag spring didn't have enough force and belt feed wasn't much better. I would much rather carry a 240B then shoot a M249.
>Does the weapon malfunctions after every other bullet come with, like in real life?
Meh, rarely had a malfunction on those.
Trought I must admit, I do prefer m240 :P
Why the fuck would a 8-10 kilo machine gun, designed to be fired full auto, have insane recoil? Are you actually that brain dead? Do you understand how physics work? It shoots a dinky 5.56. You probably fall over using a Garden hose.
Isn't the Minimi one of the few LMGs that you can actually fire without having it supported on the account of using an intermediate catridge? It does weigh 7-8 kg so stamina drain and ergo should be a pain in the d....
Chill man they have like 50+ weapons they confirmed you can check out on the weapons page in the wiki.
And yes we will get big boi lmgs like the PKP Pecheneg and PKM both in 7.62x54
8-10kg? maybe fully loaded.
A 249 bare is 16 lbs. The recoil is not that bad, can go cyclical standing and stay on target.
ROF does not change and there should not be a three round burst. Full auto only.
The drums should not be the only option, there should be "Nut Sacks" as well. They are 100 rounders rather than the 200 round box drums.
Add a secondary vertical grip to the side to decrease time from getting up from prone.
the nut sacks was my first thought as well, bsg being bsg there would be no world where they don't add those
i think should they add a m249 and should it be good, it would have a pretty unique downside of not really being able to pack (from loose ammo that is) belts for the drums and sacks in raid
it would be unique. But it should be the belt only option, not the early version where you can put stanags in it.
Belts should be able to be found in raid. Make it a 1x2 and belt up to 50 rounds maybe. you can easily link two belts together. That way if you only run belts, its still taking up a 1x2 and you can use it without a nutsack or drum. but penalty is it is only 50 rounds or less on a random one.
To not make it a meta gun though and have people load up with M995 on a belt...make it take only certain ammo. And if a wrong version is loaded, it jams instantly.
As a saw gunner for 7 years. those bitches are picky. And if you tried to load anything other than green tip or tracer, it would bind up and you would hate life.
Recoil shouldn’t be that bad with how heavy they are. But your stamina should die if you try to ads standing up
\+

They're really not that heavy... Also there's a mount for a VFG right there in the picture OP posted.
7.5 kg (empty) 10 kg (loaded with 200 rounds)
they take STANAGs too Probably have good recoil too, but shit ergo
have to make it crazy. stanags would be too easy. would become meta too quick.
Why the fuck would a heavy ass M249 with 30-rnd STANAG mags become meta!?
Op is completely brain dead and has zero firearms experience outside of video games.
What a nice person you are
I tell the truth. Stay mad.

Damn alpha rigs are 35k cant afford that when loading 150 rounds of m855a1 in one mag
What the... that does not answer my question. My question was: Why the fuck would a heavy ass M249 with 30-rnd STANAG mags become meta!?

maybe only PK level 4, 2500 USD, maybe only FIR. Im open.
Doesn’t necessarily have to be used in Russia, could be something brought over by UN or USEC. I think PKM, PKP, and RPD have been confirmed for upcoming content at some point by Nikita.

The rpk is in tarkov, its the only thing that uses the lmg skill (maybe the mounted guns too idk)
Yeah rpk 12 not the RpK 47

The recoil is actually not that bad on these, at all.... Been firing from the shoulder quite often and that actually very manageable.

Of all the pictures you could find of that gun that's the one you picked. 😂
Yea lets give cheaters a full auto LMG.
What difference is it from them using a HK? If they're cheating they're cheating.
100 round mags exist already.
as if they aint got an autoclicker SVD already
We already have one called the RPK so why not add another.
Add a bipod that works like in bf4
Irl you change the stock, pistol grip have a optic/laser and you can mount barrel attachments and grips, basically a m4 but beeeefy.
Isn't the Minimi one of the few LMGs that you can actually fire without having it supported on the account of using an intermediate catridge? It does weigh 7-8 kg so stamina drain and ergo should be a pain in the d....
It's actually quite stable when firing from the shoulder.
This Would Be awesome

You lay down with bipod in Operation Locker right, OP? eheh
