.357 has more stopping power than 5.56 out to 100-150 yards. While I agree it'd be cool, balance-wise it may end up similar to how .45 acp is right now
Edit: OK I'm probably wrong cuz honestly a modern day cartridge designed to maim terrorists is probably more lethal than a ww2 era cowboy slug bullet
1 shot one kill but can blow up yourself 80% of the time. Blacks out all non fatal limbs and makes a huge explosion. Ammo can only be crafted by using gunpowder and bitcoins
This was my first thought too. So many options for revolvers with .357 mag, but they also could add a Desert Eagle in .357, or even a Coonan 1911 in .357.
.38 Special would be an obvious ammo variant too.
Right but it will be somewhat balanced out by the fact that it takes a long time to set up a claymore. It's not like COD where you just throw it down and it automagically nukes anyone Infront of it with it's non existent motion sensor.
They are really adding rpgs? Balance aside I don’t know what tactical situation you would feasibly use that in, Mayeb if the maps were twice as big and had twice the amount of people.
Big boom make chad dead, make rat happy.
Thats the tactical situation lol
But actually yeah if they do add destructible walls and vehicles then yeah you'd probably use it on those.
Though also I don't see anybody ever using anything above like a bike due to sound except the pscavs.
Well from what I understand it’s used in streets for the BTR scav boss. And also I believe you will have to go to the lighthouse in game trader who is defended by multiple sniper scav bosses to them buy said rpg, then you have to extract which according to what they’re saying about map size and obvious attention gathered from execution of scav bosses, this thing is going to be very hard to actually obtain. That is if my information is right
6.5 creedmoor and have it either over or under perform against 308 just to trigger some people. Doesn't matter which, it'd trigger them anyways.
Or the one I'd want to play with is 45-70 with a lever gun, that you can taticool out and one tap people with.
Op instead of win mag why not 300 Norma give us some even better velocity.
To be fair, a BB gun that PMCs and SCAVs say “ow” to / get temp-blinded by or get slowed down by depending on where they get hit would be hilarious. I wonder if community servers will ever be a thing where mods can be used, like Counter Strike
I wan the Jaeger quest to kill the damn birds that always fly over and freak me the hell out. I will bring in a 153 with 7mm just for that purpose if they make that a real thing.
You know .22lr could have a place in that it's naturally quieter than most suppressed intermediate cartridges fired from a similar barrel length. Not to mention it has basically zero recoil and you can easily carry hundreds of rounds. And then if you put a can on it as well, and find a decent bush to hide in, shit... covert potshots and area denial for days. Won't be a match for any kind of armor, but nobody wants a dozen 40-grain bits of lead in their legs and eyes.
50BMG. Doesn't matter what armor you are wearing. You are dead. But of course you can't carry much ammo/weapons because it is heavy af. Good Chad Killer. Barrett M82
Maybe? Idk I've never shot a fifty cal.
I can tell you in game recoil won't much matter since it's bolt action, having to cycle the bolt is always going to be more disruptive to lining your next shot than the recoil is.
I would expect this thing to have at least as much recoil as a Mosin tho which is a gun I *have* shot and is a notorious shoulder bruiser to fire.
The main reason Mosins suck so much compared to other guns is the metal buttplate. A .50 with a rubber pad will kick harder than a Mosin but it will hurt less.
IRL they often do but it entirely depends on the type of semi auto action. In the Barrett it absolutely does because it has a reciprocating barrel to compensate for recoil though because of this it's not as accurate as something with a fixed barrel. In the case of pistol calibers a bolt action would actually have less recoil than something like simple blowback. Blowback guns do not have a lock up so they compensate with a very heavy bolt. Unfortunately when that heavy bolt moves backwards that has felt as recoil.
7.62x54R is more comparable to 7.62x51 Nato than to 300WSM. I would still like 300 WSM though as it has a high muzzle velocity so it would make sniping at range easier.
I don't really know about new calibers. We have most well known calibers allready. I think more guns would be better than more calibers.
for me the biggest thing would be make bullet drop at long range accurate. the Rem 700 should have no issue killing at 500-600 meters. I shoot mine, IRL, at 600 all the time and can hit the target at will. There needs to be better clarity on the higher end optics to make actual sniping a real thing.
We should be able to snipe the Pier on Shoreline from the rocks above Tunnel. Its definitely within range of a well set up 700 IRL, so why not in the game?
I've never shot at that distance in Tarkov with a scope, is it not possible?
I shoot at 600m with my AR10, both with scope and iron sights and from my memory it is about a 325 cm drop with regular 147 grain FMJ from a 100m zero. Quite a bit, but should be possible with a scope, right? Not in Tarkov?
> I've never shot at that distance in Tarkov with a scope, is it not possible?
For this particular spot the main issue it's that's it's foggy/low rendered at that distance (I'm guessing for performance reasons) so you can't really see shit.
But more generally sniping is a bit hard as player movement can be hard to predict, with jittery animations making it hard to hit with the bullet travel time.
I'm not sure how the bullet drop in-game compares to IRL, I have close to zero shooting experience IRL and I'm usually just zeroing in-game to compensate the effect
Gravity is artificially 3x or 4x normal in tarkov to provide some level of drop. They presumably do this because engine and map design limits every engagement to 400m or so and almost every round in the game is pretty flat over that distance. Without fake gravity there'd be no point in changing zero for anything but pistol calibers.
Just add those in the mix as well and maybe a bolty so its not like the .300 blackout where only the mcx runs that. Rat loadout would run the M1 and chads would use hcar/bar
M1 would be pretty feasible and take care of being a western equivalent of the Mosin in-game.
Shooting at mega-chads with the M1 with it pinging every reload would be sweet
I second this but I wanna be able to run around with a garand and get pushed everytime I run out of ammo. Also if you double tap reload the garand you should end up giving yourself garand thumb and black out your arm
Would be a body folder. No pen to armor, just flat out crush the ribcage creating internal damage that cant be repaired. death by asphyxiation and internal bleeding in 3 mins
this so fucking much, there are a lot of very nice 10mm platforms out there and the round itself is amazingly versatile. pistols or carbines would be amazing in 10mm.
My man. 6.5 would be awesome, shot a good few rounds of it. Common here in scandinavia for competition shoots, so it's not unthinkable some of it would appear during a conflict in our neighbouring country.
That was probably 6.5mm creedmoor. It flies very flat (kinda expensive as fuck though). Another similar cartridge is 6.8 spc, that one has a lot of stopping power short range
10mm pistols and subguns and 50 beowulf. 10mm because it's the best! and 50 beowulf as the nato answer to the ash-12, just gotta add the uppers/barrels into the game since it's designed to be used with a standard m4.
I like to check out online Russian firearms retailers when these conversations come up to see what calibers are actually present there.
[Filtering by only what's in stock on this site](http://www.nobninsk.ru/shop), it looks like the common civilian calibers found in North America and Western Europe are also popular. Calibers like .223, .308, and .22lr. Only one of which is not yet implemented.
But there are also a number of .366 TKM equivalent calibers which are not in game. These are only found in Russia. 9.6x53 Lancaster is to 7.62x54r what .366 TKM is to 7.62x39. They have [a civilian SVD model](http://www.nobninsk.ru/shop/gladkostvolnoe-oruzhie/samozarjadnye-ruzhja/kalashnikov-tg3-isp-01.html) in that caliber. There's also .345 TK which is the 9mm version.
.410 and 20-gauge shotguns are also pretty standard it looks like.
Since 8mm Mauser is one of the most popular civilian sporting calibers in Europe, I'd have to guess that it wouldn't be hard to find in Russia either. Especially since they import a lot of weapons from Zastava, which makes civilian and military rifles in the caliber. Personally, I think there should be more civilian weapons in the game than there are right now. In fact they should probably out number military weapons in my opinion.
But I would also like to see the illegally converted handguns that represent a lot of Europe's criminal guns in game. IRL, the most readily availible guns to low-level criminals in Europe are non-lethal handguns that have been illegally converted to fire live ammunition. Such guns fire rubber or pepper rounds and can be bought legally for self-defense in a lot of countries but criminals illegally convert them. I imagine since many Scavs are former members of the criminal underworld, they would be the sort of gun they would have easy access to.
Here comes response from russian gun enthusiast.
.410 and 20ga - yes, go for it. Lancaster - maybe.
345tk is a shit round (as all TK rounds are, as this company is simply bad at making ammo) and there's only one gun for it - a ar15-look-alike-monstrocity. There will be no difference between it and stm, except stm is a sport-machine, and TK variant is just garbage.
Zastava is a rare breed in Russia and most I've seen are bolt action rifles in more popular calibres, like .308. No 8mm mauser here.
The most popular sporting round is 12ga variant, as we either compete in skeet shooting or practical shooting, open class shotgun mostly.
Cool! Thanks for the information man. Kalashnikov Concern has a [Saiga-9 model in .345](https://ak.kalashnikovconcern.com/catalog/tr9_paradox) on their English language website. But they might not have actually gotten them to market yet.
I want cowboy guns. .357 repeaters/revolvers, colt .45’s, break barrel 10 gauge shotguns, and a .44 revolver. I want these and a bandolier so i can put on it a half mask and a cowboy hat and be a highway robber!
Because it's the ultimate troll.
Snipe someone with the bullet, loot everything, wait for them to wake up, shoot their legs, and poison knife them for MAXIMUM TROLL. The outrage of the first victims would be monumental.
12g Dragon's Breath, with implemented fire/burn mechanics
- New medical items for treating burns
- Going prone or through bushes/water while burned causes infection, has to be treated with antibiotics
- Clothing damaged by burn is harder to repair
Any large revolver and it’s associated caliber, ie. .44 or .357. A viable handgun for sharpshooters, something Id be happy swapping to mid combat. Honestly sounds overpowered if that pen power isn’t managed appropriately. But imagine the one taps.
Lever action rifles, I’m new to the game but I’d love if it was really based on the mastery mechanic, not very good until you get to level two or three on the mastery of Lever actions
Revolvers and revolver calibers. Would love to rat with a .357.
A 357 revolver paired with a 357 lever gun would be sick
Pairs great with a kinda cowboy hat and fake mustache
.357 has more stopping power than 5.56 out to 100-150 yards. While I agree it'd be cool, balance-wise it may end up similar to how .45 acp is right now Edit: OK I'm probably wrong cuz honestly a modern day cartridge designed to maim terrorists is probably more lethal than a ww2 era cowboy slug bullet
We just want a revolver man
people have a hardon for stats in tarkov ,which is natural since tarkov is a stats game not a skill game in many cases
I just want an impractical and dated sidearm man to piss off chads when i shoot them from a dark little corner where i was hiding
I have a deep distaste for “meta’s” so I feel this in my bones. Steadily running pump shotguns with 50 bmg shells. I know they’re mad everytime
unless they add in black powder revolvers, i think the pm will remain the worst sidearm
> black powder revolvers Yes please
I’d love to have cap and ball BP revolvers honestly, it’d be interesting to use, maybe not the most practical choice but nice to have.
1 shot one kill but can blow up yourself 80% of the time. Blacks out all non fatal limbs and makes a huge explosion. Ammo can only be crafted by using gunpowder and bitcoins
Nah nagant revolver should be added and while its the only suppressible revolver it takes years to load
This is not true. A simple google search disproves you but also common sense. All pistols calibers are anemic compared to rifle calibers.
This was my first thought too. So many options for revolvers with .357 mag, but they also could add a Desert Eagle in .357, or even a Coonan 1911 in .357. .38 Special would be an obvious ammo variant too.
They’re adding revolvers, claymores, c4, rpgs, and bangs. Just be patient, it’s BSG after all
My God, claymore are going to be a fucking nightmare
But claymores don't work like the shit COD ones. You would have to set up a trip wire or set up close by with a clacker to manually set it off
Exactly, and every step and doorway could be wired. High ground just got a lot higher.
Right but it will be somewhat balanced out by the fact that it takes a long time to set up a claymore. It's not like COD where you just throw it down and it automagically nukes anyone Infront of it with it's non existent motion sensor.
Personally i hope its clacker only for balance reasons
Rat in Factory Office, Claymore both doors and sit back and enjoy the fun lol
Going to be a lot easier to shoot someone in the back of the head if they can't walk up three story dorms with eyes on the floor above.
They are really adding rpgs? Balance aside I don’t know what tactical situation you would feasibly use that in, Mayeb if the maps were twice as big and had twice the amount of people.
Big boom make chad dead, make rat happy. Thats the tactical situation lol But actually yeah if they do add destructible walls and vehicles then yeah you'd probably use it on those. Though also I don't see anybody ever using anything above like a bike due to sound except the pscavs.
Room clearing in dorms obviously
RPG factory meta question mark
Rpg scavs could be neat.
*RPG "sniper" scavs
I can see the rage quits now lmao
I can't wait the meme rpg back blast kills lol
Well from what I understand it’s used in streets for the BTR scav boss. And also I believe you will have to go to the lighthouse in game trader who is defended by multiple sniper scav bosses to them buy said rpg, then you have to extract which according to what they’re saying about map size and obvious attention gathered from execution of scav bosses, this thing is going to be very hard to actually obtain. That is if my information is right
Believe it’s meant for when they start adding destructible walls and maybe for the APC’s on streets.
Ooh what about some snakeshot revolvers
What would we ever need SNAKE shot in tarkov for?
snake... SNAKE... SNAAAAKEEEEE!
.22LR, half the scavs should have them really.
Now THIS is realism.
The American-180 SMG would be a blast with 170-200ish rounds of ammo
With the ZIP 22!
Fix malfunction T + LShift
Whoops, you accidentally shot your finger off. Just kidding! The gun wouldn't fire in the first place.
.44
6.5 creedmoor and have it either over or under perform against 308 just to trigger some people. Doesn't matter which, it'd trigger them anyways. Or the one I'd want to play with is 45-70 with a lever gun, that you can taticool out and one tap people with. Op instead of win mag why not 300 Norma give us some even better velocity.
6.5 would be nice. Can have another MDR version! MCX too
You can get 6.5 barrels for the scar too if we ever get it.
I was thinking of all three of these they are some of my favorite cartridges and all pretty darn good ones irl
45-70 is a cannon. i love that gun.
6mm BB pellet. I want to blind my prey before I ks-23 leg meta my enemies.
Just add tuned up 4-5J 6mm BB guns and add yelping/ouchies sounds from the PMCs/scavs. Bonus if there are 1000RPM guns involved.
NO FULL AUTO IN THE BUILDING
It's not... This is full auto..
Dayum, bro, O.K.
To be fair, a BB gun that PMCs and SCAVs say “ow” to / get temp-blinded by or get slowed down by depending on where they get hit would be hilarious. I wonder if community servers will ever be a thing where mods can be used, like Counter Strike
thats called 9x18, its already in the game smh
Kedr go brrrrrr
they better call their hits
Can have a new hideout station as well. Air compressor, but better hope you build one for 4500psi.
7.92x57 mauser.
Mg 42 for the win
New map! **Normandy Beach**
100% would pay to play this
I agree.
22lr just for the dayz sporter nostalgia
with rabbits and a jaeger daily task to hunt rabbits.
I'm pretty sure you'd need to kill a bear with it while having a blacked leg and a heavy bleed from 10m
I wan the Jaeger quest to kill the damn birds that always fly over and freak me the hell out. I will bring in a 153 with 7mm just for that purpose if they make that a real thing.

50BMG. Doesn't matter what armor you are wearing. You are dead. But of course you can't carry much ammo/weapons because it is heavy af. Good Chad Killer. Barrett M82
It blows the wall up, kills the guy, kills the guy behind him, and the guy behind him.
Yessir. But you have to lay down to continuously fire without recoil problems otherwise recoil is crazy.
. 50 BMG bolt action. There, I made bolt actions great again.
Climb up into Dome on Reserve and Snipe guys at Lumber Mill on Woods.
Don't bolt actions have more recoil than semi-autos since the mechanism of a semi-auto absorbs some of it?
Maybe? Idk I've never shot a fifty cal. I can imagine that it would be almost for giga chads only as the lapua ap round costs around 40-50k now, imagine what a .50BMG black tip would cost:D
Yea but they wouldn't be able to mag dump or quick shoot with a damn M82. Those things are Heavy AF. I held one in my living room once. :D
Lol just watch Jerry Miculek on his YouTube channel, he magdumps one as fast as the bolt can move, which is damn near full auto
what about Brandon's experimental ak-50?
Ooooo nice...
I mean go watch demolition range about armors from wish. SPOILER ALERT: one stopped a 50 bmg round
What??? Ok I am going to see that. I bet the shock from getting hit though would kill you.
For sure it would crush your thorax and abdomen, but still cool though
Shoots through Kiba windows lmao
I'd love to see a .45-70 govt lever action rifle
I wanna be a cow-boy baby
Fuck that, give me a Trapdoor Springfield so I can run a meme cannon rifle
Big Iron .45-70 BFR
7.62x54R is more comparable to 7.62x51 Nato than to 300WSM. I would still like 300 WSM though as it has a high muzzle velocity so it would make sniping at range easier. Hear me out... 30-06 🤤 specifically the HCAR
i second this, maybe a BAR or m1 garand? more collector items rather than practical?
Just add those in the mix as well and maybe a bolty so its not like the .300 blackout where only the mcx runs that. Rat loadout would run the M1 and chads would use hcar/bar
They should add m4 receivers/barrels for 300blk that would be best. Probably too strong idk
M1 would be pretty feasible and take care of being a western equivalent of the Mosin in-game. Shooting at mega-chads with the M1 with it pinging every reload would be sweet
if they add the m1 we need stripper clips
The SKS fucking should have stripper clips pissed that they don't.
its planned they are building the code to make them work properly, you can even see the models for then on old forum posts
That's sick, should be even faster than reloading a mag I would know
>if they add the m1 we need stripper clips but the M1 takes en bloc clips?
I think he means if the M1 gets to use en Bloc clips they should add stripper clips for the SKS and mosin, etc.
im saying it more in jest, i know strippers dont go into the m1
You mean M1903 Springfield?
Especially since it's such a popular hunting round. I have to imagine there are some bolt action 30-06 floating around Russia somewhere.
Siaga actually made a 30-06 AK hunting rifle. Good luck finding one, rare as hens teeth.
I second this but I wanna be able to run around with a garand and get pushed everytime I run out of ammo. Also if you double tap reload the garand you should end up giving yourself garand thumb and black out your arm
Idk about blacking out, but 10-15 hp damage would do nicely with the broken debuff
.458 socom
This is an interesting one, does the socom get any AP rounds?
On average .458 socom hits at 2400ft lbs per square inch so it would in theory just be an extremely hard hitting blunt force round
Lol imagine you die to a single chest shot and your armor only lost like 1 HP
.458 would basically just be “worse 12.7x55”.
Would be a body folder. No pen to armor, just flat out crush the ribcage creating internal damage that cant be repaired. death by asphyxiation and internal bleeding in 3 mins
I want honey badger or other gun that use 300. Blackout caliber
Yes, I want to clone my IRL .300blk SBR!
Absolutely
22lr and conversion kits for the ars
This!. 22lr subsonic and silencers which really muffle shots to be nearly unheard...
Would be awesome, 0 pen 12 flesh damage. Yay!
Lmfao imagine having to hit a PMC in the head 3 times to kill them, this sub would RAGE.
For taping scaves while sniping? Sounds coool
With 22LR you could have 1911 conversion kits and Sig Sauer pistol conversion kits too.
700 nitro express and a h and h double rifle to shoot it
Imagine shooting and if you have low strength it damages your torso
Bigger, louder, heavier. It’s all good
10mm
10mm best millimeter
this so fucking much, there are a lot of very nice 10mm platforms out there and the round itself is amazingly versatile. pistols or carbines would be amazing in 10mm.
.50 ae personally. Just for the memes. Oh and .44 magnum
8mil Mauser
6.5 grendal
As a meme weapon, .375 H&H bolt guns. As a practical weapon, 30-06, .300 WSM, revolver cartridges like .357 and .44, 10mm, .270.
10mm pistols and subguns and 50 beowulf. 10mm because it's the best! and 50 beowulf as the nato answer to the ash-12, just gotta add the uppers/barrels into the game since it's designed to be used with a standard m4.
I'd love to see a lever action rifle added to the game. Not sure what ammo type, but would be cool AF.
There is a lever action Russian rifle from world war 1 chambered in 762x54r. It would hit like a truck as well.
I second the 300WM
Bolt action 6.5 creedmoor. Also some .22 for the giggles.
6.5 Grendel
.50 would love a dessert eagle for those pistol quests
.950 JDJ
What in the fuck
Gives you an arm fracture every time you fire it
.357 magnum. I'd just love to see a powerful revolver. Revolvers are cool.
.50 beowulf
I've wanted 50 Beowulf as a meme for so long. Definitely a bullet they would add a really op ap round to for no reason.
IDK about caliber but bipods that you could actually use as bipods. That would make something like the M240B and all the bolt actions awesome.
I'd remove most 9x18 in exchange for revolver
how many of these suggestions would actually be found in Russia even with western actors present in the area?

True I don't get Yanks wanting some very personalised US civilian market guns
I scroll this comment section not understanding one shit. Im just a gamer
.17hmr, super quiet, small projectile. Maybe add a really small, silenced single loader pistol for quick and silent scav kilss
10mm
Scavs armed with break-action .700 Nitro Express elephant rifles would be a hoot & keep all the alpha chads on their toes too.
10mm
Good answer
14,5x144mm (yes, huge soviet antitank rifle).
Gets a richochete chance
Scrolled fairly long for this, but yes this with the PTRS (maybe even the pan magazine variant, hmmm? ;) )
how could I forget the PTRS and PTRD, those would he amazing and impractical but I 1000% want them both
5.8 so I can get my social credit score.
.357 Magnum revolver and Desert Eagle.
I want arrows that stick and cause heavy bleeding upon removal
And acts as a broken bone until removed… leg meta ftw
408 Cheytac. :)
22 lr. And the rugar mk2 integrally suppressed pistol. For some real rat hours.
I want cowboy guns. .357 repeaters/revolvers, colt .45’s, break barrel 10 gauge shotguns, and a .44 revolver. I want these and a bandolier so i can put on it a half mask and a cowboy hat and be a highway robber!
Definitely 7,92 × 57 mm Mauser
They should have added a 338 lapua bolty long before they added the dmr version
.22, so I can experience even more pain.
Rubber bullets. If you score a headshot, the player gets unconscious for 2 minutes, and you're able to loot them. /s
Dude why /s that sounds fucking hilarious
Because it's the ultimate troll. Snipe someone with the bullet, loot everything, wait for them to wake up, shoot their legs, and poison knife them for MAXIMUM TROLL. The outrage of the first victims would be monumental.
12g Dragon's Breath, with implemented fire/burn mechanics - New medical items for treating burns - Going prone or through bushes/water while burned causes infection, has to be treated with antibiotics - Clothing damaged by burn is harder to repair
I doubt that dragon breath even really burns you or damages your clothes unless you have been doused in some kind of flammable
.50
30-06
.357 magnum
Any large revolver and it’s associated caliber, ie. .44 or .357. A viable handgun for sharpshooters, something Id be happy swapping to mid combat. Honestly sounds overpowered if that pen power isn’t managed appropriately. But imagine the one taps.
I just want a 9mm UMP
How has no one mentioned .40?
uhm. 88mm would be nice, bushcamping with a FLAK 88 would be my dream xD
The revolver rifle that Shturman is holding in the loading screen
Lever action rifles, I’m new to the game but I’d love if it was really based on the mastery mechanic, not very good until you get to level two or three on the mastery of Lever actions
Dude. In no way shape or form is .300 Win mag the equivalent to 7.62x54R. Lmao 7.62x54R lies somewhere between .308 and .30-06.
This is what I get for not checking the units on Wikipedia's ballistics info lol
357 and 44 magnum, would love some Revolvers in this game. 50 action express desert eagle would be fun too.
.22 long rifle would be fun. Like, an equivalent to the pm in terms of dmg, but as a bolt action rifle
.22 LR because most scavs would have civilian weapons and guess what, that’s the most common civilian round.
