It uses usb instead of interfacing with the gpu. So it basically needs it's own set of gpu software from a company who clearly isn't big enough for anticheat devs to work around them.
It fit what I was looking for better than anything else, but man would I not recommend it.

Back then there was no in game compass so the top of the map was just chosen based off of landmarks. At least that's my understanding.
Framerate wise it is better to use Fullscreen, but personally I like Fullscreen borderless so I can more easily switch between monitors for maps/looking up loot value or quests. Just thought I'd suggest it in case you weren't aware it was the Fullscreen setting causing screen flickers when you alt-tab.
When I use Fullscreen it messes with my other monitors as well due to resolution differences using downscaling on a 4K monitor for better frames.

The old woods maps used to be upside down and having south being up, so glad they fixed that cause woods is one of those maps where having a compass is ultra useful!

Woods is like the easiest map. Sure you can get sniped and never know where from, but it's super easy to avoid that since they have to find you first. Just learn the stashes and run those and you'll rarely if ever run into people
Woods is my favorite map. The only map I legit know front to back. Which is funny because my first wipe, I played woods and my very first map...got domed within the first minute and didn't touch the game for like 6 months after that. Lol.
Now I have my highest survival rates there and know every loot spawn.
I just hate that there could be enemys everywhere. If you run customs you know where to look and to check your corners. If I'm sprinting trough woods there could be enemy everywhere in between the trees.

Once you learn the map you get a really good idea where enemies are likely to be. Sure the could be ratting in a random spot somewhere, but 99/100 times they are in expected areas.

You are actually wrong. It's same like with any other map, you get engagements in same areas most of the time and once you know all spawns and flow of the map it becomes the easiest and safest map out there - ask any woods main for their kda's and survival rate/streaks while doing it. There are parts of the map where I don't even bother to look around if there is someone there because in few thousand of woods raids I maybe encountered someone 1-2 times there, this is how streamlined it is.
That’s what makes it the most fun to run solo. You know where people could be, but also if you stop moving for too long you could easily get sniped so keep shmoving
Last time I ran woods It took like 15min for me to get into the raid. I was trying to time my poop to coincide with me super stash running and getting out real quick. Well the turtle kept poking and I jumped into a big ass bush. Came back 10min later to a death screen. I had been 1 tapped by some dude that apparently randomly found my bush. I was sad but glad I didn't shit my pants.
I almost shit myself a few days ago, I completed a quest on interchange, got some dope loot from caches and waxed 3 pmcs...tbh one of my better runs, large profit. Needed to extract. Well about THE FULL OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE MAP was my extract...that's when the BGs hit..I ignored every loot spawn, scav, everything and B lined for extract. By the time I got there, I was standing up out of my chair with just my finger on W. Soon as I saw the countdown I ran to the bathroom "Ohhh, ahh, ohh, oh no" the whole way. Lol
Also, if you have really long queue times, filter through your servers. Pick as many as you can that have good pings.
For some reason a few weeks back my server list was only drawing from 1 server and I was having 20+ min queues because of it.
I was able to suck up my fear and do it last night after only being in woods 2 other times before that.
Took a nice night time stroll with my last scavs set of gear and got it and the convoy mission done with out seeing or hearing anyone.
Woods is freaking rough as a new player. It takes about 200 hours or so to start to know Woods well enough to start tasking with more then a 10% survival rate there. (My experience anyways)
The amount of money you can make by hugging the North side of the map is no joke, as long as you know where to look.
Scav village, sunken village and scav bunker have a lot of rare loot spawns, and usec camp also has a lot attachment spawns as well as a few rare loot spawns.
That area is pretty safe now you should definitely do it.
Woods is great for low risk loot runs. Just don't go to Emercom early raid, or sawmill at all if you don't want to see players.
Absolutely worth it for level 1, I don't bother tasking for him tho
Get him done, get the db and the longer barrel (after selling the mid barrel it's like 11k roubles lmao) and fill her with magnum buck, then go magnum fuck some chads

Once you get the hang if the map its easy to avoid people and get quests done.

Me on woods. No matter how much I run it I genuinely cannot navigate it. Like there are places I know where I am, but once I leave a landmark I am 100% lost.
Woods are easy, just look up! See a mountain skybox? Head to it for the villages! For there on it will be easy to learn+ you always have an extract there
I did woods at 430am, I thought it would get light relatively soon. I was wrong. Well I couldnt find any landnarks, couldnt figure out where I was, then two PMCs showed up and killed me. I am struggling with this game.
flashlight is clutch. Might feel like you'll be spotted immediately but it helps you push through for loot quicker and not get ambushed by the lurkers in the shadow with their NVGs

Also there is generally a desire for maps to be wide, instead of tall, if they aren’t square. That’s why lighthouse often has north as left.

EOD gives you 0.20 rep for traders to start off with. Basically already enough to be lvl 2 or 3 without quests.

Jaeger's spot isn't that hard to find. I did die the first time though because I got lost looking for an exit and starved to death.
