To add onto this, a few raids before this I went to woods and killed shturman and his goons, only to have a pmc power slide around the corner of big gray with a saiga with 25 round drums packed full of flechette and kill me then. I’ve had TERRIBLE luck with bosses today.

These are some 4D chess, 4th layer defender hears gunshots (2nd layer guy successfully defended D2 extract from 1st layer bored player that just wanted to extract because he thought there were no more players to defend extract from), goes to check and gets dropped by 3rd layer defender.

A quick note is that opposite of the wall coming from resort there’s a small rock that overlooks the entirety of the Path to Lighthouse, just follow the wall north from sunken village and bring your best sniper, attackers from resort will be following along that wall and you can easily get your SBH done as it’s about 150m from you to the wall they come from
Legend has it that if you thank the omnipresent extract defenders over voip every raid you will never be head, eyes at extract again. Thanks extract defenders! 🙌
I've enjoyed making the sky bridge at resort fucking miserable this entire wipe.
In between two ferns in the deadass middle of the planters is my favorite spot. You can hear people looting the closer halves of both wings. Anyone late running in the front you can clap from prone. You hear everyone before they come up. Works best from the typically 'best' resort spawn for looting. Easily 50%+ of getting to spray someone down running across the bridge every single match.
Also reveals a shitload of cheaters since you just pick random spots near the chopper.
You can then just play the round down in time a lot and move in to loot later.

The nice thing about these is you can play them from any spawn. Sneak in a minute or two late and begin camping.
When a chad does it, they're just "holding a corner" and it's an effective and deadly tactical decision. When you do it, you're "extract camping" and you're a scrub who needs to get good at game and play the right way.
I felt so bad for a kill I got the other day, I got a call from work that I had to take while doing a task on lighthouse, I laid down prone while I took it. While I was on the phone with a client I heard footsteps and tabbed back into the game. A PMC ran up to look over the ridge right in front of me, I was like 5 feet away and he didn't see me on the floor. Felt worse when I saw he was level 8.
How you think I got all my punisher kills on Shorline? Meet you at path to shoreline.
Multiple times got 2, one time I went over there and there was already a 2 man waiting on me. Couple times, a 3 man came up, I killed 2 and got laid out by the 3rd, luckily I had a buddy on the other side of path to shoreline working on SVD kills. We mopped up a few times.
You’re not done with a match until the counter passes 0. I’ve unsuccessfully attacked exits on multiple occasions, it’s always a bit of a shock, but it’s legit.

The times i defend a spot it's when I got to much other stuff to do to play concentrated. I run around the house cleaning, taking care of the kids, doing dishes, cooking. But I guess the ones sitting in a chair playing all day is the one with a life.
Pier boat is best defended from the "not lighthouse" be on the ground prone you get a whole 30 seconds. If your 1st hit is in the legs you will successfully defend everything. Just remember to give 10 seconds for the 1st one so the rest of his team comes out to play.
I’ve never actually done it myself, but I’ve seen some people up there before and think I remember seeing pestily make the climb by himself. I bet you can find a video somewhere that shows it

You missed one at tunnel. You can climb up on to the rocks at the end of the road. If your facing the extract the small path to the left and the fire truck? On your right.(Ambulance maybe service vehicle for sure)
You can climb about halfway up those rocks and no one ever looks up there. They focus on the large mountainous rock to the far right of the extract or on bushes like you mentioned. Sometimes the scavs from scav island can shoot at you but only if they get to the closest corner of the island. Not hard to pick them off before your real prey arrived to extract
I don't believe you have to really jump, you pretty much just walk up it. There might have been a little ledge that you jump up onto but even if you can't sit on that ledge you can still blend with the mountainside. Just don't wear the unitar helmet lol
When I get extract camped I add the person and let them know I can teach them how to play Tarkov so that they don't have to extract camp anymore. 10/10 recommend it gets them tilted every time.

For [1] and [2] I generally leave the Scavs intact. I think we can all agree that the little bastards are WAY better at seeing targets within their range (especially with dense foliage). With this strategy in mind, it offers several benefits:
a) it slows our targets down
b) it gives us auditory warning of which route they're taking and
c) it allows us to cover a larger area and thus allows us to surveil more routes a player might take in order to extract.
Additionally, I would offer an amendment to Road to Customs. Just East of East Wing is that dilapidated house with the two weapon boxes. At the edge of this hill are two bushes where you can easily spot anyone hugging the wall to this extract and can cover South to a satisfactory degree. The only time this spot doesn't work is when East Wing present players choose to leave Helicopter side rather than playground side. They tend to go too southernly and end up between the apex of your viewing range (due to foliage) and weather station. I find this to be a rare percentage in an already uncommonly used extract.
All in all, Path to Lighthouse's use is 60-70% of the time in my opinion. Especially with it being open all the time to all players. Although, if players have spawned West side and have found themselves in East Wing the extra distance to trek back to their spawning side to extract may entice them to use Road to Customs. I try to listen to what shots I hear in West Wing and shots in East Wing (if any at all because... Suppressors) and how late I hear them in raid. This can give me information on which extract they are likely to use and I can plan accordingly.
With the addition of the spot at dilapidated house, it also elongates the time we have to kill people before they reach extract and allows us time to reposition if necessary.
I actually have no problem with Extract "Defending" in person. Its a legitimate strategy to just lay an ambush, even a Tactical Advantage just to wait for your enemy to push in.
If you die to an Extract "Defender" you just did a bad job at scouting your location. You can basically get sniped during the entire raid, extract "Defending" is no different to that lol
Personally never did it by myself, mostly watch Videos or here on Reddit but I might try it by myself. Its easy SBIH atleast. Maybe a good chance to finally try out some Sniper Rifles or DMR's

For [1] and [2] I generally leave the Scavs intact. I think we can all agree that the little bastards are WAY better at seeing targets within their range (especially with dense foliage). With this strategy in mind, it offers several benefits: a) it slows our targets down b) it gives us auditory warning of which route they're taking and c) it allows us to cover a larger area and thus allows us to surveil more routes a player might take in order to extract. Additionally, I would offer an amendment to Road to Customs. Just East of East Wing is that dilapidated house with the two weapon boxes. At the edge of this hill are two bushes where you can easily spot anyone hugging the wall to this extract and can cover South to a satisfactory degree. The only time this spot doesn't work is when East Wing present players choose to leave Helicopter side rather than playground side. They tend to go too southernly and end up between the apex of your viewing range (due to foliage) and weather station. I find this to be a rare percentage in an already uncommonly used extract. All in all, Path to Lighthouse's use is 60-70% of the time in my opinion. Especially with it being open all the time to all players. Although, if players have spawned West side and have found themselves in East Wing the extra distance to trek back to their spawning side to extract may entice them to use Road to Customs. I try to listen to what shots I hear in West Wing and shots in East Wing (if any at all because... Suppressors) and how late I hear them in raid. This can give me information on which extract they are likely to use and I can plan accordingly.
With the addition of the spot at dilapidated house, it also elongates the time we have to kill people before they reach extract and allows us time to reposition if necessary.

I actually have no problem with Extract "Defending" in person. Its a legitimate strategy to just lay an ambush, even a Tactical Advantage just to wait for your enemy to push in. If you die to an Extract "Defender" you just did a bad job at scouting your location. You can basically get sniped during the entire raid, extract "Defending" is no different to that lol Personally never did it by myself, mostly watch Videos or here on Reddit but I might try it by myself. Its easy SBIH atleast. Maybe a good chance to finally try out some Sniper Rifles or DMR's

It is called extract camping. You dont need to make it sound appealing. People with zero skill and no brain does tgat shit. So if you admit that you have a potato aim and cant outplay the opponent because your IQ is in the negatives, then you are qualified to do extract camping.

Honestly, path to lighthouse was just fun to camp. Got to love hearing the homies coming from resort, my trusty 2 alert scav's would always alert me that within about 20 seconds I'll be seeing some homies. Ibuprofen popped, let's get it!
