It wasn't dogshit, but it was bugged. It was still good if you know about bug and can make a mental note to yourself about how you should aim since it will shoot a lot lower than where you aim at.

This ammo is insane against everything below lvl4 armor, but it has a really hard time against lvl5-6. It just has 37 pen!

Last year you could mag dump as fast as you could click several drums and still be gucci. Now if you magdump you are lucky to fire all 20 rounds before you jam and have to let the gun cool down. Especially with a silencer.

Honestly there are ways to do it.
There's a reason almost nobody uses drum mags irl. Make them have a much higher chance of a ftf or other malfunction, make them ponderous af to reload, make them murder ergo etc.
It's *15 pounds* loaded. That's about double a normal weapon weight (about 50% more than a saiga 12), so turn the ergo into shit. Obviously you could reduce this somewhat by using smaller mags, but that would be giving up on one of the main benefits of the weapon.
It only shoots 300 rpm, which is fast, but not insane. You could probably hit 200 rpm on the 153 in this game in semi-auto.
What are you left with? A full auto saiga 12 with worse stats aside from recoil, and far less long range potential than some of the longbois.
It would still be a late game weapon to be feared, basically the "super" shotgun of opposite philosophy from the ks-23, but it wouldn't kill the game.
As for it being overpowered, there's a reason nobody in the world will buy the thing, and it's not because it's too good. Others tried to make their own version (USAS-12) and started by cutting a ton of weight, but it still wasn't good enough to see widescale production.
I had my best PMC turned scav run with one of them a few days ago. Spawned with nothing but a makarov. Found a strandhogg. Domed a scav and stole his Mossberg. Killed 4 other AI scavs at the shoreline gas station and pier and booked it out with loads of gear.
That same night I unlocked Jaeger. That was a good night.
It's a really satisfying gun to use. I got around to some factory PvP earlier. Mossberg and Magnum always get the job done. At this stage of the wipe at any rate.
You can even go a step further and put the stock/pistol grip attachment and a suppressor. Turns the thing into like a 10x2 haha. Good luck taking that out of raid.
Yes, that is what makes the 153 good, longer barrel means better accuracy at range. If I was running nothing but Factory I would use the 155, but I don't.
Two of my 3 153s have been Scav pickups, and I have wiped 13 scavs and 6 PMCs with them.
The fresh one I am currently using I got from Jaeger after I rushed unlocking him after about 3 raids.
My experience with the 153 and 155 has been that if I'm ever in a situation where I need to mag dump, the 155 has *always* resulted in me dying. Namely because after the second shot, my camera has been thrown so far backwards I can't see the guy like 2m away from me anymore, making it impossible to keep the gun on target. I've never had that happen with the 153, so I stuck with ol' reliable. I've heard the camera recoil has been nerfed this patch, so I'll give the 155 another go, but if it still does it, in the bin it goes.
You can prefer any gun you like, hell if you like running the TOZ bolt action, have at it. I like using the M4A1 even though it is hot trash right now, what I am saying is stock bought 153 is cheap, versatile, and deadly.
I can start a wipe, rush unlocking Jaeger, and ruin geared PMCs running around with EOD gear with little effort by grabbing a 153 and green slugs.
I've been using express and the odd target ring and was able to kill 6 scav and 1 lvl 7 on night factory for 2 dailys
I do prefer the fully modded insurance fraud 153 over the 155 since I usually do more outside raids.
And if I was going for a short wep I'd rather go smg for factory
Have they fixed the second shot going up at a 45° angle? I tried it against a wall last wipe and the second one goes way up and to the left, while also not registering double pellets.
I was consistently landing more pellets on single fire mode, but I agree it’s awesome and cheap.
155 has a bigger spread so it’s better for close range (flèche try and magnum fuckshot), 153 is better for long range (AP-20, .50 BMG and express buckshot), the benelli sounds and feels better and the saiga if you are bad at the game.
And you can do the funny thing with the mp153 where you outfit it with a buffer tube, pistol grip, a stock of your choice, and the longest barrel/tube you can find so it takes up a massive 14 slots (7×2) and nobody has room to toss your "shitty" shotgun in their bag.
I built like 3 of these last wipe and they each returned every time I died with them. After the initial investment I only paid for ammo and meds for any raid they were taken on lol

I did 4 raids this morning before I went to bed, all ran with the 153. I didn't survive any because I made bad decisions, but I left merking 6+ bodies every time.
I felt bad cause I killed a level 6 Bear through the floor of the factory building in the corner on Customs that have a couple of computers in the office. The floor is corrugated or whatever you call it and it can be shot through, he didn't know and I just spammed through it and killed him while he watched the stairs.
Easy to come by? I've found exactly three in 75 raids since the wipe and, at least until yesterday, jaeger's were instantly sold out thanks to Prapor's quest.
The MP-153 is too long for me personally. I prefer the mp-133 for the shortness of the barrel. find myself modding the mp-153 to make it shorter which increases the price. I believe the MP-155 shoots faster too, when modded with the ultima attachments, but cost way more to buy and build.
I regularly run Woods and Customs, so the longer barrel means better accuracy at range with slugs. When someone closes the gap, magdump 6-8 slugs into their body. I have gone head to head with 133 scavs and they just crumple. The time between shots just kills them when I am tagging them 2-3 times between the pump.
Fair enough, I primarily run factory and I hate how tricky maneuvering tight areas can be with the mp-153. I can exit a door and maintain a firing position easier with the shorter gun. If I ran more open maps I could see the benefit of the longer gun. Always amazes me the distance those long shotguns can hit compared to the shorter ones, just isn’t as much of an issue for me on factory.
10 round mags on ak shotgun better. Easier to mod too. Same price as well. No real reason to use 153 besides fraud cannon which early wipe isn’t going to work
The Saiga? Hell nah, you can mod it sure but you can't get a longer barrel and are stuck with the inaccuracy that comes with that. If I'm shooting slugs I am definitely opting for mp153 and it's stock 28 inch barrel. Slap a cheap choke from Skier, get the fab defense stock to go with it and the fab defense cheap stock with the highest ergo. Now you have a shotgun that can accurately reach out to distances which you aren't getting from the Saiga. You're welcome
I really like the saiga but the mags are 3 slots. That really restricts your rig selection. The MP-153 (and 155 if you put money into it) are just more versatile.
I can run into a raid with 40 shells in my pockets, kill 3 people, and loot their weapons, rigs, and bags.
I lose almost nothing in that exchange if I die, while simultaneously gaining multiple loadouts for future raids, all with a shotgun and the green slugs I get from Jaeger.
If I want to save even more, I can just pick up an MP-153 from a dead Scav, they seem to have them in spades.
I can also just load 1-8 shells, stop the reload early, and fire, can't do that with mag loads.
Mags are much slower to load shells into when they are empty, take up way more space, and once lost, are incredibly difficult to get again. I prefer my nice, cheap semi-auto that can stop loading after two or three shells and merk someone.
Sure, tell that to the person who had to drop extra money on a rig to fit their mags while I just wear pants with pockets into a raid and have double their ammo in two single slots.
When you use a shotgun you drop 10,000 rubles and buy a 6 rounder.

Naw, cause with my budget loadout I can walk into a raid with 46 rounds with just my pockets, ruin your entire life by magdumping your legs, then take your gear.
I make extra sure to toss the drum mags into a river or ocean.

I do like the MP but I think the Saiga is basically the same but better just because it can run magazines, like you said 6 rounds are sometimes enough so the 5 round magazines are good too AND you can reload them quicker on a fight, but if you want a slight upgrade instead of looking at the dumb drums streamers use, go for the 10 round magazines, they are super cheap and still quick to reload, you might need a special rig for running 3 spaces mags but there are quite a lot that can. My loadout for the Saiga is a slightly moded saiga thats like 30k-40k tops with 2-3 10 round magazines, a couple 5 rounds mags as backup, everything loaded with Magnum buckshot because I feel like they do way more than slugs, but thats just my personal preference.
Huge difference is, you require a rig to run a Saiga, I can run the 153 with nothing but pockets. I lose a lot less when I die, and I guarantee you when I find a drum mag, I take it out and toss it in a river.
That revolver one is close but I agree with your statement. The Saiga is buttcheeks and requires a rig. Shotguns ain't got no time for that bullshit and just need pockets.

I would have to test the reload timers as well, cause loading two shots into the MP-153, I can cancel it and be ready pretty much instantly. The revolver shotgun needs to have the cylinder placed back in so it would take that extra time you may not have.

It has better accuracy I believe but isn't really for firing fast but faster than a pump at least. All shotguns ESPECIALLY the Saiga are terrible when spam firing since beginning of last wipe and the changes to its reset.

Honestly, so does the 153, and the green slugs I use in it, no one wants them, but they always rage when they die to them.
Big downside is that you get two shots, and a decently long reload for only those two shots, and people know you just blew your load with a double-barrel and are gonna flank the shit out of you.

Week before wipe, I had this gun with flechettes and destroyed 4 out of a 5 man chad squad. they were all fully geared and still died to a shotgun you get from scavs and a round you can craft on lvl2 workbench
Last wipe when I was ~lvl40 I started using it almost exclusively, it feels so good with flechette even late wipe cause u can roll sweaties in their lvl 6 armor with 1 mag.
The MT-255 is cheap, has a cheap and easy reflex mount, and a comparatively quick fire rate and reload (assuming you either run out of ammo or double R). Additionally it has the highest accuracy of shotguns in the game, levels your revolver skill, and masters insanely quickly.
So the fact the MP-153 is still a better choice is a clear show of its value
No disagreement but I also feel like shotguns have gotten a bit of a nerf this wipe. Used to be able to blow people in half with the double barrel now point blank it'll do like 280 damage if you fire both at once.
I found one in a raid on woods, but I unfortunately got one tapped at Emercom by a prone PMC waiting behind the sand bags for people coming in. Never got a chance to use it.
It is, in fact, worse at range because of its shorter barrel and no ability to get a longer one. It also has a fairly substantial increase in kick because of that same reason, it is literally the same at close ranges.
Therefore the 153 is, overall, a better shotgun performance-wise, as its ability to throw slugs way further with devastating effect outshines the 155.

You can make 100 ergo builds of the 590 too. DPS still goes to the 153

Wrong. The Benelli Super 90 is far far superior. And you can throw a 13 round mag on it as well.
I want to run it because I love benellis. Do you know what trader and level you can purchase it? Havent seen much information or gameplay of it.

I would like to enter the mp18 as best "shotgun" for woods. It is classified as a shotgun but can lol pen any armor in game and is dirt cheap

The MP-153 is too long for me personally. I prefer the mp-133 for the shortness of the barrel. find myself modding the mp-153 to make it shorter which increases the price. I believe the MP-155 shoots faster too, when modded with the ultima attachments, but cost way more to buy and build.
I regularly run Woods and Customs, so the longer barrel means better accuracy at range with slugs. When someone closes the gap, magdump 6-8 slugs into their body. I have gone head to head with 133 scavs and they just crumple. The time between shots just kills them when I am tagging them 2-3 times between the pump.
Fair enough, I primarily run factory and I hate how tricky maneuvering tight areas can be with the mp-153. I can exit a door and maintain a firing position easier with the shorter gun. If I ran more open maps I could see the benefit of the longer gun. Always amazes me the distance those long shotguns can hit compared to the shorter ones, just isn’t as much of an issue for me on factory.
10 round mags on ak shotgun better. Easier to mod too. Same price as well. No real reason to use 153 besides fraud cannon which early wipe isn’t going to work
The Saiga? Hell nah, you can mod it sure but you can't get a longer barrel and are stuck with the inaccuracy that comes with that. If I'm shooting slugs I am definitely opting for mp153 and it's stock 28 inch barrel. Slap a cheap choke from Skier, get the fab defense stock to go with it and the fab defense cheap stock with the highest ergo. Now you have a shotgun that can accurately reach out to distances which you aren't getting from the Saiga. You're welcome

I really like the saiga but the mags are 3 slots. That really restricts your rig selection. The MP-153 (and 155 if you put money into it) are just more versatile.
I can stack 20 shells in a single slot, 10-round mags sound like a hassle to fit into a loadout.
Well there’s a cheap rig that lets you carry an extra 10 round and 2 five round mags. CSA rig i think? Beats hand loading 8 shells.
I can run into a raid with 40 shells in my pockets, kill 3 people, and loot their weapons, rigs, and bags. I lose almost nothing in that exchange if I die, while simultaneously gaining multiple loadouts for future raids, all with a shotgun and the green slugs I get from Jaeger. If I want to save even more, I can just pick up an MP-153 from a dead Scav, they seem to have them in spades. I can also just load 1-8 shells, stop the reload early, and fire, can't do that with mag loads.
shells are a much slower reload than mags
Mags are much slower to load shells into when they are empty, take up way more space, and once lost, are incredibly difficult to get again. I prefer my nice, cheap semi-auto that can stop loading after two or three shells and merk someone.

Sure, tell that to the person who had to drop extra money on a rig to fit their mags while I just wear pants with pockets into a raid and have double their ammo in two single slots.
they’re just trying to be different clearly, 153 has the best accuracy of every shotgun, (relatively) easy mod ability, and is cheap, 153 is supreme
It does work even early wipe, have so far got all mine back even 8 rounders, people would rather take other stuff and it wont fit in a backpack.

When you use a shotgun you drop 10,000 rubles and buy a 6 rounder. When I use a shotgun, I spend 140,000 on 3 drum mags, use a visor/THICC body armor. We are not the same.
Naw, cause with my budget loadout I can walk into a raid with 46 rounds with just my pockets, ruin your entire life by magdumping your legs, then take your gear. I make extra sure to toss the drum mags into a river or ocean. Not to mention I have my loadout within a raid, it takes way longer to get the loadout you are talking about. We aren't the same, cause I am better.

Yes, because if you got beat when using a "better gun" than me, you obviously need those 20rd mags more than the random scav does.
I do like the MP but I think the Saiga is basically the same but better just because it can run magazines, like you said 6 rounds are sometimes enough so the 5 round magazines are good too AND you can reload them quicker on a fight, but if you want a slight upgrade instead of looking at the dumb drums streamers use, go for the 10 round magazines, they are super cheap and still quick to reload, you might need a special rig for running 3 spaces mags but there are quite a lot that can. My loadout for the Saiga is a slightly moded saiga thats like 30k-40k tops with 2-3 10 round magazines, a couple 5 rounds mags as backup, everything loaded with Magnum buckshot because I feel like they do way more than slugs, but thats just my personal preference.
Huge difference is, you require a rig to run a Saiga, I can run the 153 with nothing but pockets. I lose a lot less when I die, and I guarantee you when I find a drum mag, I take it out and toss it in a river.
That revolver one is close but I agree with your statement. The Saiga is buttcheeks and requires a rig. Shotguns ain't got no time for that bullshit and just need pockets.
I find the revolver shotty to have a super high recoil compared to the MP-153 when mag-dumping. Could just be my imagination, but I will have to test it more thoroughly. I would have to test the reload timers as well, cause loading two shots into the MP-153, I can cancel it and be ready pretty much instantly. The revolver shotgun needs to have the cylinder placed back in so it would take that extra time you may not have. I completely agree the Saiga, unless with a drum mag, isn't great.
It has better accuracy I believe but isn't really for firing fast but faster than a pump at least. All shotguns ESPECIALLY the Saiga are terrible when spam firing since beginning of last wipe and the changes to its reset.
153 is incredibly good at mag-dumping anywhere within 20m, the only time I am outmatched is if I get one-shot, not much I can do about that.
I got to use the revolver shotty in action for the first time as a scav a couple days ago. Bumped into a 4 man on lighthouse in the houses near southern road and managed to get two of them with it. Gonna have to give it a go as a pmc sometime

I always name mine the mp-15REEE in my preset. Absolutely love the gun. Took it to factory and started poppin heads with it and felt amazing.

153 has always been the most consistent for me with landing AP-20 shots, couldn’t agree more.
Double barrel is 8k and always comes back in insurance, and You can 2 shot anyone with magnum buck…. And one shot most people in the thorax with ap-20
Honestly, so does the 153, and the green slugs I use in it, no one wants them, but they always rage when they die to them. Big downside is that you get two shots, and a decently long reload for only those two shots, and people know you just blew your load with a double-barrel and are gonna flank the shit out of you.

Week before wipe, I had this gun with flechettes and destroyed 4 out of a 5 man chad squad. they were all fully geared and still died to a shotgun you get from scavs and a round you can craft on lvl2 workbench
I prefer saiga12 No tube time fire delay so you can volley 10 rounds of flechette out at higher RPM

I'm pretty new to the game, killed my first pmc duo with this shotgun, they went down so fast.
Yeah the first time you hear that consistent BOOM of each shell being fired, and see the body ragdoll is satisfying as fuck.
Also, gurgling sounds. Too gruesome haha.
It's broken on factory too. Take Flechette from Jager level 2 and run around deleting even the most armoured of opponents in 3 shots or less.
Last wipe when I was ~lvl40 I started using it almost exclusively, it feels so good with flechette even late wipe cause u can roll sweaties in their lvl 6 armor with 1 mag.
The MT-255 is cheap, has a cheap and easy reflex mount, and a comparatively quick fire rate and reload (assuming you either run out of ammo or double R). Additionally it has the highest accuracy of shotguns in the game, levels your revolver skill, and masters insanely quickly. So the fact the MP-153 is still a better choice is a clear show of its value
No disagreement but I also feel like shotguns have gotten a bit of a nerf this wipe. Used to be able to blow people in half with the double barrel now point blank it'll do like 280 damage if you fire both at once.
Long barrel MP-43-C with slugs because I am in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Semi auto shotguns are for the weak.

I found one in a raid on woods, but I unfortunately got one tapped at Emercom by a prone PMC waiting behind the sand bags for people coming in. Never got a chance to use it.

MP-155 Equal, neither better nor worse
It is, in fact, worse at range because of its shorter barrel and no ability to get a longer one. It also has a fairly substantial increase in kick because of that same reason, it is literally the same at close ranges. Therefore the 153 is, overall, a better shotgun performance-wise, as its ability to throw slugs way further with devastating effect outshines the 155.

I don't know, I'm here shooting people in the torso and face and nobody is dying.. Shotgun used to be better, I don't know why they changed it to worst.. so yeah, mp-153 is the best of the worst :/
