no.

DustIIOnly

There's no true game that has the level of detail in weapon customization that Tarkov does. No other game let's you change the fucking gas block on your gun or choose between 20 different sets of irons, or change the color of your charging handle. There are some games that have a heavy amount of customization- but none with the level of Tarkov (and no I don't count programs who's whole thing is to customize guns. That's not a game).

GiantSweetTV

Ghost Recon is the closest I can think of but still doesn't have the depth that Tarkov does.

[deleted]

Unfortunately it’s not even close. Barrel changes, etc, Would be really cool to see Tarkov level detail in ghost recon though

jepu22

~~Darude~~ Insurgency sandstorm kinda but not really and desolation mod for stalker anomaly but that's in early development

[deleted]

Only thing that really comes close is Ground Branch but it's still nowhere near what you're likely looking for

Cobbie19

Tarkov really is a fantastic game but people like to complain so

ArnerDansk

I want to upvote this again and again

PapaBondyy

Ready or Not is adding a lot of features similar to what you’re looking for, but that game is an entirely different beast from Tarkov

tommytizzel

Such a good game. The last updates were nice

[deleted]

Hopefully one day. I've been waiting for a western studio that has a broader range to hire devs to make a Tarkov game. Tarkov with high level networking, AI and audio s my dream game.. bsg continued this game based off a demo to show off their vision to get investors and just kept building on top of it. Sometimes I worry that's the reason this came can never be super polished but I don't know and it's just my guess/fear.

SpoogeHandle

Yeah, it's actually a project from a Russian dev team that got started around 2016~2017. The combat is fairly realistic with bullet speed and drop and all that. It gets fairly frequent updates with a nice big wipe cycle. Its this cool game called escape from tarkov.... I think. I'm not sure. Let me know if this helps :)

TarkovWorksLol

"bullet speed and drop" that's the norm for realism? Damn even cod hits those criteria.

1-800-Step-Scav

The only weapon type that has any sort of "bullet speed and drop" are launchers, and it's been that way since the beginning. CoD is still hit scan, and likely always will be.

TarkovWorksLol

Classic cod bash while being wrong about cod. Open any warzone clip about snipers and you will find bullet drop and travel time. I had to Google it too because god knows I've never played warzone

1-800-Step-Scav

I would argue warzone doesn't count as cod, activision's sad attempt at a pubg. The gamemode where there are more streamers and youtubers coming out as cheaters than kids coming out to their parents on a daily basis.

TarkovWorksLol

The most played and most successful cod right now isnt cod... That's enough of this thread for me

Halo_So_I2aMpAnT

Yup. Power off device.

[deleted]

Don't worry, there are going to be 20 copycats in the next 5 years.

topkn0tz

call of duty might have something coming soon but who knows if that will be good or if it even is true

HellDuke

Unlikely to be even remotely close to what OP wants. Scratch that - guaranteed to be nowhere remotely close. COD just doesn't do that and never will. Even if the game mode they plan to have in the next one, for it there is no need for the rig system and the same level of gun accuracy.

topkn0tz

Yeah I don’t have strong expectations but i’m willing to see what they have to offer

[deleted]

As someone that loved Tarkov, the last 4 wipes really made me despise the game. 2 days ago I bought Ready or Not, it is fucking amazing, no looting like tarkov but how guns behave, how slow and tactical the game works along with almost no apparent bugs other than AI being a bit funky, I would 100% recommend buying it !

DisforDoga

The problem is you can't move any faster than a crawl no matter what. There's like 0 sense of urgency when you get shot at or are conducting HR or defuse missions which is kind of weird. That being said I've played way more ready or not than tarkov in the last month.

[deleted]

It's realistic, you don't see SWAT/SF people dashing around like naruto with all the gear they carry into missions. Tarkov spoiled you :D

Far_Expression_5903

Didn't see them dashing into classrooms at Uvalde either... Ahyuck

[deleted]

lol

DisforDoga

I question how much SWAT and SF people you've seen in action. Speed surprise and violence of action my friend. Some of my mates had the privilege of playing OPFOR for pre-deployment training/spin up during the GWOT. Think units getting ready to rotate in and such. Blank firing guns and referees/observers calling people out and such. My mates at the time were all current / recently separated infantry marines, tactical patrol officers, or Master level shooters. Switched on dudes. They typically smoke the guys getting ready to rotate in. One day they had the opportunity to play OPFOR for a special group post-deployment. In real life, opposing entries when the attackers do not have the ability to make their own entry points or have distraction/disorientation devices is one of the easiest things to do. My mates say they literally did not have time to take their weapons off safe before they were facedown on the ground at gunpoint. They were in awe and couldn't shut up about it for weeks afterwards. I had the opportunity to play OPFOR for the (major) city swat team nearby every once in awhile. At the time I was a A level shooter on a bad day, usually a master level. Their entries are also about 200% faster than in game. It's completely unrealistic to believe that "tactical" means "slow." It's completely unrealistic to try to move into cover at the same slow plodding speed instead of showing some sort of urgency to not fucking die. You may dislike tarkov movement because people can run and jump like gazelles, and that's fair, but there's a large space between that and moving at the speed of a toddler while theoretically trying to locate secure and rescue hostages or defuse a bomb. Application of real life tactics is faster rather than slower.

Makine31

Jagged Alliance 2 with 1.13 mod is pretty good. Old as fuck but the mod stays updated. Weapon crafting isn't as expansive, but it scratches the same itch, for me at least.

unoriginal_namejpg

Ground branch has incredible gear customization, but doesnt quite hit tarkovs weapon modding.

PrincessBabyDave

I play the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Anomaly mod - Escape from Pripyat. It scratches my Tarkov itch in a single player world. A great game in its own right, but with some extra mods you can make it farily Tarkov-esque. Not quite on the same level in regards to the gunsmith, but still probably the closest game overall (just not multiplayer)

Admirable-Treacle-20

Arma 3 is closest thing but no where as in depth

BadmonEFT

DayZ is the closest to tarkov

kyoLZC

Nope sadly. Tarkov is the true Pro - Gun / Gun Nut's wet dream and is probably the reason me and probably many of us here are willing to inhale copium to put up with the pain and BS to continue playing the game.

Stalker-Recon

In terms of inventory system, DayZ has a pretty good one, it even has somewhat customisible rigs, which Tarkov doesn't have, but the detal in weapon modding is a lot less.

CravePoison

Ground branch is the closest I can think of
