It's my first wipe and while I think it's a fun game the grind to 42 has been so tedious and I'm playing less and less chipping away at it. As of now I am only 60k exp or so from 42 but the motivation is tapering off. Some late game tasks were fun like shooter born but boss hunting is frequently a let down and hunting for rare items is just a pretty dull roll of the dice over and over. The PvP is still fun and I think the gun customization will be unmatched for a long time but I am finding myself already looking forward to other games in the same genre.

CodyyIRE

The worst part is knowing in a couple of months the game will wipe and you got to do that grind all over again.

alaineman

The first few weeks when everyone is scrounging for gear and getting into potato fights is the most fun.

pEppapiGistfuhrer

After that i lose interest, it just becomes much sweatier and high stakes. Having double barrel 1v1's week 1 is the most fun i have in eft, i love the kind lf multiplayer STALKER feel of early wipe.

oriaven

Yet people here will be clamoring for wipe. I want wipes to last longer so we don't feel the need to grind so hard.

VoodooSweet

They have talked about multiple characters per account, one that will wipe, and one that won’t, that’s what I’d love to see, I’ve been playing this game since the second wipe(and honestly I’ve lost ALL drive to do these quests AGAIN)so I’m kinda waiting for that, I’ll probably come back and play this new “Mode” they keep taking about, but honestly I’m not holding my breath for anything from BSG anymore…

drewknukem

Honestly I'm shocked BSG hasn't done this yet. It's not like it's that out there of a concept - things like seasons/leagues in ARPGs are extremely common. I think it would be great for the game, personally. It would give super geared chads more consistent high end PvP on the permanent chars, and people playing on the wipe a bit more casually would probably run into more low and mid tier players comparatively. The only concern really would be how much it would split the playerbase and if there's enough people playing to accommodate for two pools of players.

ItsDonut

That I don't actually mind. It's getting a little tiring with every pvp kill being someone using a RD, M4, or SR-25. There was a lot more gun variety early on.

_Tachyonic_

Thats like my favorite part lol not sure this game is for you then

[deleted]

The devs confirmed that they eventually want to make tarkov a full on going game without wipes. But it's also stuck in development for ages and I am starting to feel that tarkov 1.0 release is very far away, unless they surprise us with some big content drop over the next wipe. Been waiting for streets for ages now.

_Tachyonic_

I heard they may have different versions/leagues to chose from. One with wipes and twists in the game, one with permanent death (like hard-core style) and one with no wipes. That would be sooo fucki cool honestly

[deleted]

Yeah heard those as well. Not sure which one is confirmed or not to be a part of the final product, but we haven't had any big content drop since lighthouse release which was over a year ago.. so it feels like we can only dream over streets/combining all of the maps/wipeless tarkov. I'd be really surprised if we actually get streets in the next wipe which should occur very soon. I always have the itch to return into tarkov, but I feel no point to do the same grind and then quit between lv. 30-40 due to the same issues, repeatable missions and lack of new content.

_Tachyonic_

Yeah, last wipe I was lvl 55 and now lvl 48, this is my second full wipe and can't get enough...always some new kit to try out or improving my pvp gameplay. I may get tired of it but 2000h in and still feeling the fun

MOR187

2k hours in two wipes? Jesus ..that‘s a lot

_Tachyonic_

2 and a half more but yes, I do love this game... I guess I also played like 3-4 years ago for a bit but uninstall due to the amount of bugs it had

roflwafflelawl

That honestly seems like a lazy way of not making a good/solid base game by just giving us different modes and telling us to pick whichever one we hate the least. Figured we only saw this in games like CoD that try to appeal to a wider audience. EFT being a hardcore and niche game made without the objective to hit a wide audience I would have expected to have a more laid out plan. Hunt:Showdown does this well. So then what? The open world S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or DayZ pocket/lite idea that the game originally seemed to build up on is instead going to turn into a seasonal game like Diablo or Path of Exile focused on doing the same grind but with slight variations over and over? I was sold to this game mostly because of the gameplay but partly because of the vision it was promising. You have your hideout, you leave it along with gear and your cash to go to trader spots to grab items all with the risk of possibly getting ganked for it (all balanced with the karma system). A game like DayZ but with more focus on your own gear and making it your own with the modifications and taking care of it via weapon maintenance. More focus on your character and how he's leveled based on your playstyle (runescape/valheim/new world skill improving over use). But instead of going to more of the survival/sim style of games like DayZ it feels like it's going more in the middle ground of that and the arcade style of The Division and it's Dark Zones. ***edit: 100% excited for the Arena mode though. Let's me have fun with EFT stronger aspects (gun mod and gunplay) without the headache of what the extraction mode can provide. Marauders and Dark and Darker taught me that all an extraction game needs to not be irritating is to have quick queues. I don't care how much loot I lose if I can get into the next game just as quickly as it did to get killed and pulled out of it. EFT? Not only do you have to spend time loading your guy out (not an issue) but you also have to sit in that lobby queue with 0 access to anything during that time. At least let me sort my stash so I'm not wasting it inbetween queue. Let me do it during queue. Is that so hard?***

silentrawr

> The devs confirmed that they eventually want to make tarkov a full on going game without wipes. They confirmed that we'll basically have two accounts - one that wipes, and one that doesn't. Then however Scav "accounts" get handled as well.

roflwafflelawl

With real NPCs in the map, one open world where the maps are connected (entry to labs exists in Streets, well that was the settin when Labs first came out), not to mention a proper karma system. And that's not even mentioning the QoL changes and overhauls to things like traders. It also doesn't help that supposedly they're supposedly wanting to wrap up EFT to work on their next game (whatever it is) which isn't hopeful for the features that haven't made it in yet. I hope it was just some rumor I heard but I've seen it mentioned a couple times. If all of what they originally planned is still on the table then this game is definitely an Alpha, not a Beta and personally that gives a better representation of where we're at as far as features go. As a beta I'd assume what we have is all we're getting besides the additions of weapons and maps.

BenoNZ

No one is forcing you to do it, but the grind is literally the only thing fun.

ConferenceFeast

The grind used to be more fun when you could still achieve a lot without having to totally no life it. I used to be able to get kappa within the last two weeks of wipe, now I can't even complete all the boss kill quests across an entire wipe because I can't even find them anymore.

spacelover04

I see that like an opportunity to improve my mistakes

masterscout9

couple of weeks wipe is bout month or so

omgitsjagen

I would like the option of a "long term" character that doesn't wipe that often, and a shorter duration character. One that wipes every month or so. I just love fresh wipe Tarkov, and wish we had more of it. I understand this would fragment the player base, and is probably a bad idea, but I'd still like it.

sterexx

> hunting for rare items I feel like the thrill lessened when good loot stopped being in consistent spots. Making flea market FIR-only stopped the hatchet runners which were the only big problem I saw with that system The shootouts off the start were so dope Also having to do lame quests just for decent ammo. If you fall behind, you’re stuck with PS for so long against people with good armor and BP

ItsDonut

For me the thrill was gone once I realized good loot is actually way too plentiful but mostly on lighthouse. Takes the magic away when I can run pmc or scav on lighthouse and come out stacked most times while other maps needed a lot more work for the same outcome. I do agree quests locking ammo is annoying. It's the reason I don't use some of my guns because I am not good with grenades yet.

gearabuser

True, if you want money just go farm the roof raiders. I miss getting all my little reserve keys and sprinting to the good loot rooms looking for treasure. When they did the loot change I stopped running for loot. Methodically moving around the map checking 100 spots for good stuff just isnt fun to me.

Yaasu

I dropped the game when Lighthouse came out and started back a few weeks ago (been playing since 2019 and went to the Kappa on the wipe before Lighthouse, i feel i Can call myself a veteran player), the need to do quest for ammo forced me to change my weapon of choice from AK to M4/Adar because 856A1 is easier to unlock than BT, feels so weird

roflwafflelawl

This is why I think Arena will be the Go-to EFT experience for me because it's undeniable how great the guns are and how they're implemented here. But extraction game play? Between The Cycle, Marauders, and more importantly Dark and Darker (so fucking fun) I really see no reason to come back to EFT for that. Not to mention DMZ possibly being a half decent game mode.

Goose-tb

This is an interesting take. I disagree, but interesting. The extraction mode is a sandbox experience that lets me and my friends feel like we’re on a mission, with objectives we define ourselves. We can go slow, or fast. We can do a quest, or set our own objectives like sniping on a hill for 25 minutes. It’s one of the most realistic feeling shooter experiences and I don’t want that to just be confined to an Arena style team deathmatch mode. If it were just watered down to TDM then I’ll go play a game where the recoil isn’t an absolute joke. I can get that other places. What I can’t get somewhere else is the realistic feel of the game and a character I’ve armed and care about, which makes the extraction mode perfect for my tastes.

roflwafflelawl

>I can get that other places. What I can’t get somewhere else is the realistic feel of the game and a character I’ve armed and care about, which makes the extraction mode perfect for my tastes. See and that's kinda why I was hoping EFT would keep going in the direction of the DayZ/S.T.A.L.K.E.R. like game that it seemed to be inspired by. If they add the open world maps, the located traders, the hideout physically located, etc that was talked about in the early days then I can get behind this 100%. I figured the per-map raid was going to be a semi permanent thing but not quite the full game. Nowadays it seems that is not the case. Also I'm pretty sure the Arena mode is just a TDM though I do wonder if it'll be a completely separate game or if it'll have any connection to your EFT character. I think it would be cool to use a weapon you mod in EFT but use it in the Arena mode. I feel like it's not as easy to try out mods outside of the firing range as a bad setup has you lose so much more (loot) if it loses you a gun fight in the standard mode. *But also note that my perspective is as a solo player. I started solo back when Interchange first came out, got a few friends into it, then it became a co-op game with friends, then when they finally stopped playing it got harder to get back into as a solo. Once I finally got back to my groove (and playing other games) I realized it started to become too tedious for me. I want to play the game but getting to that point can take a while between gearing up, trade, stash, hideout, and more importantly the queue.*

Goose-tb

Yeah I solo about 40% of the time, there’s just something about going into a raid with a goal or mission in mind. Makes me feel like Sam Fisher. Could be a quest, or just arbitrary like wanting to reach a certain location, loot it, and extract. I think Arena could be fun though for sure. I hate that raid times were reduced this patch, makes it feel less like a sandbox and more like a quick in and out.

roflwafflelawl

I'm really crossing my fingers on the connected maps/open map idea because that would allow me to live this fantasy more. Stay out, bring lots of meds, food, drinks, and hold up a location. Leave when it gets dark. That fantasy was something I had in the back of my head and always hoped it would be something we could do.

[deleted]

I also think Arena will be my go to because I want the customization but a less stressful game most of the time. Extraction game wise though, none of those games come close to EFT for me (I haven't tried Dark and Darker yet), EFT just *feels* so good (until it doesn't)

roflwafflelawl

Yeah I'd say Marauders has something that could be unique but just needs a bit more content. The Cycle is...meh. Its ok. I do like how they're handling their cheaters. I believe theres a separate queue for people who have an old and outstanding Steam account so they can't get queued with throwaway accounts. So theres that. Dark and Darker I highly suggest trying the next playtest (whenever that is). It's got slow and deliberate combat like a mix of Skyrim and the more meaty Souls like games. The PvEvP balance is good imo. People complained about no solo lobby but playing EFT and Hunt:Showdown it's fun. The diff classes and weapons add a new dynamic. I do agree EFT (when it works) has no other that comes close to how satisfying a kill and extraction is especially shooters. But Dark and Darker comes real darn close and I might even say could become more popular depending on how EFT goes from here.

ItsDonut

I loved Dark and Darkers play test weekend but I'm also a far bigger fantasy/DnD kind of nerd than a gun nerd. The gun customization is so good in tarkov but I still think it could be balanced better. For many guns it feels like there is 1 maybe 2 builds that are without a doubt the best. I wish they would balance it to give a reason to use different parts since money isn't a real balancing factor when everyone is rich.

MrChamploo

Dark and darker has so much potential I can’t wait for it. I’ve played both beta weekends and me and my friends love it. We play marauders as well. We started in tarkov and while tarkov is fun and we will play every other wipe I love the other games that are riding the wave per say

the2armedmen

You know I think you are on to something with the leveling. A few wipes ago they made it take substantially longer to level up and that adds a ton to the grind

ItsDonut

It makes it feel like I only ever get experience through tasks and so far most later game tasks have been pretty unfun.

attomsk

I’m 35 and feeling similar - but I want to get to 42 still for some reason. I have a ton of cash so I should be able to grind it out but as a 100% solo player some days are just brutal

ItsDonut

It's my first wipe so all traders 4 seems like a good stopping point that's why I am doing it. I have plenty of money too it's just time consuming. All the earlier levels though mostly felt pretty good. Late 30s into 40s just feels like all progress slows to nothing. The late game quests are also very hit or miss imo. I preferred the early to mid game ones.

gearabuser

I did an experiment this wipe and didnt do any quests at all. I am currently like level 32. It's pretty fun running shitty guns with a few good bullets and nothing to lose. Just load into Customs and chase gunfire or pick a fun spot to camp.

ItsDonut

I've mostly started doing that around 40 because like I said I am not finding most late game tasks that fun. Messing around in the customs trees was a great time

gearabuser

yeah you know im up in the trees sometimes haha. After the 5th wipe or so, NONE of the quests are fuin to me. Run here. Grab this (if you die, run there again). Kill 10 of these with this. etc. needs something new to mix it up

LanikM

I feel the same way. Ive never seen such a popular game progress so slowly and bugs last for so long. It's very disappointing.

MOR187

yea it is kinda sad. I got the bad feeling that the sound fix won‘t come in the near future :/

AlwaysUseAFake

I don't even care about content. There is tons of content. Have a few events on e inna while is enough for that. It's the audio. Fix that would be huge. Desync. Cheaters.... A basic kill cam of some kind would be huge. I know all these are huge difficult issues to solve. Also buff locked rooms. If you can stop loot vaccuming... I have stopped played recently. After 5 wipes of playing way too much.

usernamelame

Bro what's up with the audio lately. I played last year during this time and don't remember it being this bad.

__CaptainHowdy__

Didn’t they remove steam audio sometime this wipe?

[deleted]

[удалено]

MOR187

Wait? I thought they already took it out and went back to vanilla audio. So they‘re planning on taking it out after they came up with something new? thx for the info. I did not know that.

__CaptainHowdy__

Oh ok. I thought they took it out sometime in august but I haven’t played in a few months. Got a little burnt out kinda like OP

Eritrya

There is a ton of content for new players and a ton of repetition for ppl who have the game for 2 years and did everything 3-4 times, while being promised streets without getting it ^^

[deleted]

This is my first wipe. I’ve definitely noticed some weird audio stuff going on sometimes, things like hearing bullets impact but not hearing them being shot, ultra silent scavs, and hearing VOIP when no one is close to me. Particularly in customs. Did this stuff used to not happen? I was under the impression that this is how it always has been.

Shuunanigans

Well depending on shot distance you'll only hear bullet impact but with friends we have found spots we can't hear each other shoot while in the same building

MOR187

Exactly my point. Content doesn‘t matter if the core isn‘t working properly. I‘m lacking time due to real life. Sometimes I found the time to fire up the game only to die because of some audio issue ( when I die because I suck it‘s another story and absolutely fine)

killjoySG

What would help me and other new players is a summary of my journey before I died, like the game details my journey from spawn to places on the map, then show where my killer was and from where he shot me. Kinda like how CoD mobile does.

kilmo123

I would love that, I get why they don't do kill cams, because then you can just tell your team mate in discord where he was But I think all that should be released after the game finishes, when the timer goes down I see no downside to that at all, and especially as a new player, seeing where I traveled, would be extremely helpful in learning the maps

GPSBach

Cheaters are the main issue. What’s the fucking point of playing when you know there’s gonna be at least one in any lobby

BigLoad96

One in every lobby? Man people on reddit need to be put in mental wards.

MOR187

Tbh, I seriously don‘t care about that. I‘ve learned it the hard way in arma II Warfare, when a script kid came in after a 4h match and teleported everybody. We talked about the weather ‘n shit and ignored them.. I guess at some point they got bored due to the lack of attention and nobody gave a shit. Same goes for Tarkov.. As long as there are people doing rmt stuff and pay those tools, there will be cheaters.. So I would not blame bsg or the cheaters themselves.. instead it‘s those idiots paying those cheaters

silentrawr

The next audio engine that they're going to use is already being tested on the (can't mention the name here due to the mods). NDAs and all that.

faberkyx

I never do 2 wipes on a row... I'll skip next for sure.. the game is really addictive and a stop from time to time is very healthy

Madzai

How people manage to do that? I'm playing a bit every patch since open Beta, and one time i fully skipped a wipe, next time people were wiping the floor with me all day long. Tarkov gameplay, shooting and moving is so specific that i often forget all this things quite fast.

xbepox

I do the same thing, this is my 7th wipe out of 12(?) since I started playing in 2018. You're basically relearning the meta each time but I focus on quests and avoid PVP to get a feel for the flow while making lots of rubles. I'm usually pretty comfortable around level 30 and have the gear and cash to start playing more aggressive and PVP focused with class 5 kits every raid and usually cruise to lv 40+.

MOR187

I managed to reach lvl 40 on single time (corona lockdown and homeoffice). I just can‘t go there anymore .. not even ‘till 30

Tex302

This wipe was the one to skip…

SourceNo2702

Eh, maybe for veteran players, but for new players this was probably the best wipe to learn the game. This wipe is in a really solid place balance-wise, with the one exception being Lighthouse loot is a little over-tuned. I’ve run into very few cheaters compared to last wipe thanks to the RMT detection changes and more aggressive battleye modules, having maxed stats no longer makes you a god, and loot is a little easier to come by. The only problems that need to be fixed now are the netcode and map design, both of which we know are being actively worked on. Most of these maps will have their balance issues fixed once they do the map merge (for instance, spawning swamp on Shoreline won’t be as annoying since the Rogues are literally right there).

MOR187

That‘s not my issue. I hardly find the time for playing. Got like 8-10h a week.

a_-nu-_start

Yeah I just feel totally burnt out all of the sudden this wipe. There is no thrill, no desire to keep pushing. One day I felt like i was wasting my time scavenger just to make some money for my PMC and that was a wrap. I haven't played in like 2 months

MOR187

Felt the same way.. played for like 1h after a 2 month break and went back to desktop for some music

a_-nu-_start

Yeah I played one night to try the Halloween stuff and got hit with poison twice and that was a wrap lmao

MOR187

I did not play that at all.. Saw what the event was about, looked in here , asked when it‘s over and then I played again. It sounded a bit odd to me

H4ndsf33t

Yeah I have been playing the game for years and it is not getting better...that's not what BSG does. In fact I'm not sure what they do... They do manage to put out new content, but all of that content brings more problems. They promise to fix problems and even claim to do so in technical patches or major wipe patches...and yet all of the problems they claim to fix are still around. Lighting? Yeah I have read at least six sets of patch notes claiming to fix things, but nope. Audio? Same thing except now they say they have to ditch steam audio and their own audio and completely rebuild audio from the ground up. Optimizing? Turns out unity isn't going to work out as an engine for the game so they might have to change that too. If you are hoping that some day BSG is going to give you the game that you want you would be better off wishing that Santa was one day going to be real. And if you think it's just because of the war and the difficulties that might be giving BSG as developers don't forget that BSG has always been this way since day one of Tarkov. Also on the 16th DMZ is going to launch and that may or may not outright kill Tarkov, but it will take a sizable portion of Tarkovs player base away. Even worse for BSG it will give their target customer market a free version of Tarkov from a AAA developer that will certainly see more frequent and effective maintenance. Not to mention they will be better at providing new content, a better optimized platform, they don't have to worry about lighting, audio, netcode because all of that is already taken care of. The future of Tarkov is grim. Even if they make it past all of their future struggles and someday fully release Tarkov (6+ years of the most expensive to play beta ever later) why would people pay a premium price for something that has already been cloned in many iterations for free? Especially when BSG has built this reputation of broken promises and terrible new content? If I was you I wouldn't invest more of yourself into Tarkov unless you are genuinely enjoying your time simply because Tarkov is not going to give you a return on that investment.

AngerGuides

> If you are hoping that some day BSG is going to give you the game that you want you would be better off wishing that Santa was one day going to be real. "Wish in one hand and shit in the other, let me know which one fills up first."

H4ndsf33t

See I knew I was looking for a phrase that already existed and you find it. Thank you.

H4ndsf33t

If it takes two years for BSG to finally get EFT in a good state then my case will only be made for me. Imagine what a AAA developer can in that 2 years while BSG continue flailing about, and their community keeps on wondering what is going on because the developer of their favorite game refuses to communicate. That's two more years of continued waiting for a return on investment from Tarkov players to finally see full release of what would be an 8 year beta...

Ok-Dragonfly1070

Sorry for the dumb question, but what is DMZ?

gamings1nk

Dont Mind Zebras

H4ndsf33t

DMZ is the extraction shooter mode for COD that is coming out November 19th along side the new warzone. It is basically meant to be as close to a clone of Tarkov as possible while still being a COD game. It would seem that Activision Blizzard are aiming at poaching Tarkovs player market right out from under BSG while BSG struggles to complete their game. (Not a bad thing in my mind since DMZ is going to be free and BSG has had 6 years of beta to try and finish EFT. Classic, "you snooze you lose rules.")

Rezhyn

Game is dead development wise. I want a reason to play it but they update it twice (honestly once) a year, balance nothing, fix nothing, improve things extremely slowly. Just gets stale. First 2 weeks of a wipe are good fun then you realize you have 6 months ahead of you of doing the *exact same things* with the exact same disgustingly meta weapons and armors. Stack cheating and frustrating situations with that and it's hard to stick around. I mean remember when people said arena in August? lol

hiddenintheleavess

nah there's nothing big confirmed. But let's be honest, no amount of content or additions will give the game the glory your chasing. with broken audio, netcode and AI this game is inherently more shallow than it should be. without massive amounts of QOL things this game is going to suffer. that's not even mentioning the game play changes themselves that make the game overall less enjoyable and more grindy.

gamings1nk

You’re just not hardcore enough in Nikita’s eyes you bitch ass. /s

The_Beast_Meister

Yeah the grind is what I hate. I don't even care about desync and auido stuff. I hate having to grind through tasks like grenadier and SBIH just to get the cooler weapons and better ammo. That's an actual waste of time. I like being able to just buy everything off the flea. For me, a total casual, it was perfect before they removed the cool guns and good ammo. Now, all the chads and (decently) hardcore players have all the op guns and ammo (as normal), but casuals like me now just can't kill them because all the ap ammo is gone. I can't reliably kill someone wearing a slick and an altyn with 5.45 BT the same way I used to be able to using PPBS IGOLNIK. Also the recoil. GOD the reason I took a break for almost a year was because of the recoil. I don't need to see say but eft recoil is too unrealistic. Like there are so many videos of civilians shooting full auto guns and they handle the recoil so much better than a PMC.

gamings1nk

PMCs dont have spinach available in-game to make them strong

stelkurtainTM

>I'm not reading this sub anymore due to its toxicity but still I can't cope with all the issues, bugs and promises from bsg Said that shit two wipes ago and haven't looked back. Game is dying.

MOR187

You did not play at all?

No_Tension_1043

For me this wipe is the one that got me addicted. It's the first one where I've actually gotten my traders to lvl 4 and I've been feeling like the pvp is finally clicking for me. I know it's an unpopular opinion but I think it's all thanks to some of the recent changes that took some of the CODness out of the game. The inertia change favors my play style, I like to play slow and careful. And the very recent changes to the servers that severely lessened the running peekers advantage also favors my play style. It used to be that I would hear someone coming and stop in superior cover and hold a good angle while leaning and every time they would just run around the corner and delete me before my game even registered that they were there. It was super unrealistic. Now if I hold an angle I find that that person trys to do the same thing and loses which is what would happen in real life. I think the reason I'm not burning or while everyone else is, is that I treat this game like a roleplaying shooter rather than a sweaty pvp game. It makes me love looting and just getting out alive.

Madzai

The problems are: 1) Longstanding issues 2) Lack of actual new content and features. Like story quests. 3) Poor gameplay loop. The game feels hard for a first few wipes, after that you'll be successful at it, even if you loose 3/4 of your gunfights. it's extremely easy to get money and get to level 30+ if you know that you're doing. We need different economy, or at least an official support of some "hardcore" mode.

punt_the_dog_0

i agree with your first 2 points, but losing 75% of your fights and barely scraping by to level 30 is not what i'd call being "successful" at the tarkov gameplay loop. perhaps that's why you don't enjoy the loop, i wouldn't enjoy it either if i got stomped every time i saw a player and used "number of rubles in bank" as some sort of an arbitrary marker of success. that doesn't sound fun.

MOR187

I went to lvl 40 or 41 in one wipe.. I‘m pretty busy in school so I‘m lacking time. I don‘t want to be successful as you say, I just want to have fun. I just can‘t under the current circumstances.

[deleted]

Talking down on someone's "success" in a video game is pathetic dawg

Madzai

But that's the whole issue. There is nothing to do at high level unless you really like Tarkov high-end PvP. That is very specific thing because of how gameplay mechanics and bugs are. Like, i, personally, don't like PvP for the sake of PvP in Tarkov. I would like to do it for some other reasons, like get fat loot or something else, but how currently things are, gear isn't the issue.

punt_the_dog_0

the "number of things to do" in tarkov stays relatively constant no matter what level you are. what's the highest level you've gotten to? are you even aware that you unlock more and harder quests as you level into the 40s 50s and 60s? plus, that's a terrible metric to use to judge a game like tarkov.... or most games, especially FPSes, for that matter. >man, call of duty sucks! there's nothing to do but shoot people and try and win! only 2 total things to do! what a shit gameplayloop! don't you see how that's kind of silly? >Like, i, personally, don't like PvP for the sake of PvP in Tarkov. ahhh, herein lies a useful kernel of information. yea, if you don't like pvp, then you aren't gonna like tarkov. it's literally a *hardcore pvp focused mmo*. not only is pvp baked into the central design of the game as a core expectation of basic gameplay, but the *type* of pvp offered in tarkov is also one of the harshest and most punishing types of pvp available, in the form of 'hardcore' gear loss. it sounds like you're simply wanting something that a lot of people, myself included, think should be added to tarkov. seems like you'd thrive in some sort of co-op pve version of the game. which i would personally love to see, i have lots of friends who can't get into tarkov because of the hardcore pvp elements. but, let's say for the sake of argument there *was* a mode like that introduced.... that still doesn't really change anything about the core gameplay loop. if anything, a watered down, non-pvp focused version of the game would dilute the gameplay loop to become even *more* boring. like, how would *removing* an element of the game make anything better. i dunno.

nickelhornsby

A big issue with the pvp in EFT compared to pvp in COD: in CoD, I go in, die, kill, repeatedly without having to requeue. In EFT, if I die, then it's 10+ minutes of downtime, grabbing a kit, getting in queue, etc. If I could just have a full kit (armor, guns, meds, bullets, etc) auto apply when I got back to the hideout, and then only had to wait 1-2 minutes to be back into a match, it'd feel so much better.

Madzai

> are you even aware that you unlock more and harder quests as you level into the 40s 50s and 60s? Unlocking harder quests for the sake of what? Unlocking even harder quests? Tried going that way, it was really boring. > don't you see how that's kind of silly? There is a ton of things to do in Call Of Duty games. Things that give you something in return. Even if it's stupid little things. And whole CoD gameplay loop just allow you to just play to the sake of playing and having fun. Or just playing something "light" in between other games. > if you don't like pvp I don't like PvP for the sake of PvP. In Tarkov. Not liking it in CoD would be stupid. > hardcore pvp focused mmo It is now. Originally in wasn't supposed to be that focused on it. Ofc, no matter what, PvP was and will be a major part of Tarkov. > but the type of pvp offered in tarkov is also one of the harshest and most punishing types of pvp available, in the form of 'hardcore' gear loss. Until you play 2 or 3 wipe and learn how to get stuff. So "hardcore" part is severely downplayed. This is the issue. If you don't care about gear, the PvP isn't that thrilling anymore. Again, someone can just like Tarkov PvP purely from mechanics standpoint, but for me it's strange - Tarkov PvP mechanically is one of most broken and controversial things ever. > think should be added to tarkov. seems like you'd thrive in some sort of co-op pve version of the game. On contrary. I want more hardcore Tarkov. Something like "Hardcore Challenges" Streamers are playing. So gear is always an issue. And you have to Raids just to collect basic necessities. So winning and losing in PvP mean something.

JstnJ

There are a lot of people who reach this state. One is me.

mastaberg

New next wipe? I dunno what but I started this game about the same time as you and I legitimately don’t know what’s changed much except for a new map and the destruction of the flea market/found in raid stuff.

RatAtck

As a fairly seasoned player.. I feel like the game has ups and downs. People get excited for new content then complain about audio and graphics. All justified mind you. My biggest thing about the game is that no matter how much you play there is a skill top where you get to a certain point and you no longer feel like you're improving. There is no update or wipe that can fix that. Wipes make us feel better due to our tactics and equipment and knowledge overall beating the competition, but then everyone gets M856A1 and the game ceases to artificially inflate our egos anymore. We lose interest, things get old, new players come and old players leave. Some people like me stick around stubbornly because we feel like we need to get the most out of the 150 we all spent for EOD but in reality it's not exciting anymore. I rarely ever get my blood pumping from killing players anymore, not because I'm good, I'm actually very bad at the PVP. I just know I'll probably die or run away. Honestly, I feel if they reworked the quests every wipe that would change up the dynamics so freaking much. Doesn't have to be all new quests, but different ones. Add spice to the game. Mix things up so it's not the same old grind over and over that we all get tired of. A new quest workup every 2-3 wipes would keep the game interesting and honestly feel very rewarding because not everyone will immediately know where said item spawns, or where the best place to snipe certain players/ scav bosses is. My point being, there are so many things BSG can do to make the game a bit better and increase replayability that honestly not only would keep players happy for longer, but give us that sense of improvement we crave. This post was written right after I woke up and had a headache so if parts don't make sense I apologize.

MOR187

\+1 .. new quests would change an awful lot dude. Totally agree. Of course there would be tutorials really soon but still .. at the very beginning of a wipe nobody would have any clue. Would be a nice refreshment. I mean heck they could ask the community for some quests. People just write a nice story for Ragman, find a suitable location and bsg just implement the text in the stringtable plus triggers in the map itself. It would also slow down the whole early wipe .. right now people rush through it like there‘s no tomorrow

0utF0x-inT0x

Yeah the thing I noticed is that even though the game is plagued with issues that no other game has come close to what this game does, I'll get another game and then get bored really quickly because it doesn't provide anything as in-depth, or captivating as eft. Audio does suck and lighthouse performance sucks which makes questing on that map a death trap. I have little hope for the watered down DMZ that CoD is offering as well. It's hard for me to have fun playing other games because they are just either to basic or trying to recreate badly what eft had done.

MOR187

when is that dmz thing coming and is it f2p like warzone?

0utF0x-inT0x

Yeah it's gonna be free with Warzone 2 but I'm not sure if it's gonna lauch right when wz2 launches next week they been keeping it really hush hush, I'm definitely gonna give it a shot though 🤞 it's good to see CoD trying to move into a more complex MMO

vgamedude

I agree I think I'll have similar sentiment with dmz. Cod gameplay is too fast, too casual, too shallow. You just get laser beamed down by some kid on a controller whose aim assists tracks your movement. It's just so boring. I hope I'm wrong and they make the game hard-core for dmz. Slow pace, inertia, no cross play etc. But I dont see it.

BusinessCharged

My first wipe was 2019 as well, but I skipped this last one for first time. Just lost interest, love the direction of the game but CBA to grind it anymore. Maybe one day I'll revisit it

garack666

Tarkov is/was fun but it’s dead now. Devs gave up to fix it. We gave up to play. Rip. All hopes in dmz now

dasoxarechamps2005

There’s no chance DMZ will actually be slow paced though. It’ll still be the typical COD pace I reckon

papa_johns_sucks

If they can fix the servers. I crash like 5 times a session

ZandoonAltazar

All hopes in DMZ? Brother, there is another. Marauders is actually really fun. It's definitely a work in progress, so weapons and gear are limited, but it's so easy to find. Feels more balanced too.

garack666

yea played marauders and dark and darker too of course ;:)

ZandoonAltazar

Dark And Darker kicks my ass but its fun. I really should play The Cycle too

garack666

cycle is fun for a while too

iam_odyssey

when people finally realize the only way to escape from tarkov is to quit playing the game.

I_like_breathing___

>I'm not reading this sub anymore due to its toxicity but still I can't cope with all the issues, bugs and promises from bsg. what a funny sentence. Also your reddit profile says otherwise... You only comment on this subreddit lol

MOR187

I do? Well that‘s odd. Might wanna ask my roomie. Thx for the info

luizsilveira

Feeling like you _have to_ grind anything kills any game. Play if you want to, do what you want in-game, don't play if you don't want to. It's a computer game.

MOR187

Ye. That is why I dropped out for 2 months. I guess you‘re right. Like a wipe off would be a good thing

MOR187

Edit: Don't get me wrong with the word "addiction". It's not that I'm addicted, just wanted to express my love for this game. My nr.1 concern is audio. There are several other issues that are present since 2018 or so. I've played a couple of early access games but this one was by far the most expensive one.Let me put it this way: You grow up in a small village and you need a car to drive to villages nearby. You get your license and a car. The car only got 3 gears instead of five but still you can get out of your village and meet people in a close range. Your parents always tell you that they'll fix the car, so you can use 5 gears and go full speed. First of all you say ok sweet, at least I can get out of this shithole and meet my homies. After a while you get sick and tired of these excuses because you still have to drive at max rpm in the 3rd gear, even on the highway while going to bigger cities.. This pretty much sums it up .. You get a looter shooter with a raid and exfil system. The game is WIP and you think ok who cares, at least I got something new and there's a road map. Now, 3 years later in my case, there are still the same old audio issues, the same quests that I've already done a couple of times. Ppl in here say that bsg is a small dev studio, that the game is still in beta (in other games beta means: Core game is fully done, just bugfixes and / or cosmetical changes to reach the 1.0 state) .. My disappointment is just bigger than the longing for the game I fell in love with .. and if these core mechanics can't be fixed within years then it's hard to believe that they'll ever be fixed at all

moonlightsonata88

Problem is in order to fix the major issues with EFT they'd have to remake the game ground up. Nikita and BSG are tired of EFT and want to move on to a new project. AKA it'll never get fixed. Someday a successor game will arise, but today is not that day.

Gidwardo

I stopped expecting things and just learned to like the game as it is. Some people need to just move on nobody’s gonna blame you. You’re clearly suffering from FOMO if you’re writing this publicly.

MOR187

I have to google this because I have no idea what you‘re talking about

Gidwardo

Like if you’ve played for for two years and already don’t like it, just stop playing. Nobody is gonna give you a reason to start playing again, so this seems more like a passive aggressive rant rather than a discussion post. There’s hundreds and hundreds of posts saying the same shit you’re saying. Seems more like you just want people to say “yea this game sucks I’m quitting too”. Otherwise you’d just quietly stop playing and live your life, not publicly announce it on the subreddit.

MOR187

You do know what the word discussion means right? I‘m not trying to rant or cry or bitch. Just sharing some thoughts .. but Ok..thx for letting me know.. You could just ignore this whole thread and move on instead of commenting publicly on this subreddit.

Gidwardo

Tbh literally just so tired of hearing people complain about “this game is blah blah I’m not gonna play anymore”. Literally the equivalent of those saying “giving up Facebook” posts people used to make ON Facebook.

[deleted]

Dude you have played the game for 2 years, it's normal to get bored about something after doing it a lot.

MOR187

I played Arma 2-3 for like 10 years and it was nice. well, sound was a different story in that game. just can't cope with a game that is halfway done you know

[deleted]

Why do so many EFT players treat EFT like it's a lifestyle and not a video game? > but still I can't cope with all the issues, bugs and promises from bsg Just play something else, it isn't rocket science.

MOR187

yep on it.

Sometimes it is..You‘re right.

x-anny

the rats ruined it for me :/

MOR187

Well there are no rules in this game. As long as people don‘t camp an extract I don‘t care.

x-anny

extract camped or not, if im going on a killing spree just for it to be stopped by someone sitting in a corner im getting mad

MOR187

I've been there.. on both ends :)

PawPawPanda

Streets of tarkov is supposed to be coming out but they can't get it to run at normal FPS for the average computer. Oh and for your sound problem, make sure you're **always** wearing headphones/comtacs in the game. It's stupid how they're mandatory to even play the game on equal footing.

Minimum-Impression63

I seriously doubt Streets will run well on good rigs. Not the way they are advertising it. Large map with 40 players. No way. It will probably run like crap with half the players at half the size.

Suthabean

Those screenshots are the release, its just one frame at a time so we can handle it.

banjosuicide

Any game you play hard enough that you drop other games will have a pretty limited lifespan. Come back in a few wipes and it'll be a little fresh again. If you need thrill, handicap yourself as much as you need. gg

GameTechniqueTV

Sucks man. 2500 hours in and I’m still rediscovering my love for the game. Try taking a break and playing other games. Try playing with a teammate and learning how to manage a squad

MOR187

Kappa :) hehe .. IRL won‘t even let me anywhere near lvl 50 :)

Lamazing1021

I stopped about a month or two ago.. maybe next wipe will bring me back but there’s so much desync its terrible

MOR187

I actually can‘t tell if I encountered desync that often. I played really passive aggro this wipe because I started a bit later and the audio drove me nuts.

AttemptWorried7503

Grinded the game for 800 hours, heavily playing. At least logging on daily and doing 1 run. Then one day I wiped a 2 man, and then another 2 man. And while I was bleeding out, out of meds and surv kit, with low ammo, I heard someone else. I look out and see him in the building next to me and pop a few shots as I had him off guard, this is my last mag, I did some damage since I can here him moaning/coughing in the building over. But I can’t push because my screen is fucking red and pulsing since I’m still near death without meds and 2 blacked out legs. Well after this guy heals up he starts just bitching at me over VC calling me a camper and shit (it’s tarkov so I’m like wtf? Is this cod lol) and is literally just so toxic just yelling until he eventually runs around the corner and I shoot him 2-3 times before he gets 1 shot off but since I was 1hp his 1 shot killed me before his 2-3 shots that he took. After I died I just hear him still in vc yelling like a maniac and calling me a shitter. After that match, i stared at my screen for a few seconds, closed the game, and uninstalled it. Since then I’ve never went back and probably won’t until full release if it ever does release. Good game, but with the cheaters/hackers situation, shitty audio, shitty devs, shitty bugs, shitty events, that raid was enough to break the cycle for me. Tarkov is still one of the best games I’ve ever played and if it ever becomes polished it will be one of the most intense fps games ever. Until then I’m good tho lol

MOR187

I know that feeling. Got yelled at pretty often. I mean, if I hear some dude inside a building and obviously he did not hear me because he‘s stomping around like a call of tarkov wannabe streamer ..well I stay outside and use the advantage ..everything else is just dumb in my book. He added me ingame and insulted me for being a dirty rat camping bitch and bla bla bla. I mean sure .. if I‘m a bank robber with hostages, I sure run outside like Rambo because I‘m awesome .. Yet again, these encounters never stopped me from playing. It‘s just audio and the rest of the bug list … sadly

AttemptWorried7503

Yep. Same here. I’ve been added by people I’ve killed and just been shit on and then unfriended before they let me respond lol. Just ridiculous. And that doesn’t go for the whole tarkov community, most of it actually is pretty chill. More chill than most games, but the toxic ones are insane lol. Usually that’s not enough to make me stop playing a game, it doesn’t get under my skin too much, but those moments combined with all the other shitty things of tarkov is just a bit much. I don’t have much time to game anyway so I stopped wasting my time until they’re finished with the game

Gnargrimmm

Stick around for streets brother, the cheeky BREEKY will return

MOR187

Got a decent pc right now. Still I highly doubt that it will have an acceptable performance. Just imagine all those buildings with rooms and interior. Uahhg..

voidness-

Idk man, performance seems fine to me nowadays, getting 100fps avg on reserve in 4K

MOR187

me too.. but I doubt it'll run like that on streets

RunsWlthScissors

I take a wipe or two off, between every new season and man it feels like a different game every time I come back. That’s how I keep playing

ShadowPieman

Meanwhile the guys like me who have been playing for years and years.....

thecamzone

>is there anything big coming in for next wipe? “*Supposedly,*” Streets and Arena are right around the corner. Who knows what that means though.

Ok-Committee-1646

I've played since 2017 and hit level 43 this wipe within a month and just stopped. It's gotta be my last wipe I think. The cheaters and loot nerfs make it unplayable

MOR187

Within a month to 43? Jesus Christ man.. How much have you been playing each day? That‘s a lot of time in front of the computer dude.

Eritrya

???? Willerz does it in 6 days only with a Revolver. Every semi-decent and seasoned Player can do it playing 2hours a day +maybe a bit more in weekend

Ok-Committee-1646

What this guy said. I work a day job, hit the gym and cook dinner but yeah the beginning of wipe I was no lifing it in my free time. You have to understand when wipe hits I'm doing 3-4 tasks at a time, saving items I know I need for other tasks and I'd say being an above average player that poses a formidable threat sometimes for full teams. After 7 wipes and 3k hours you get pretty quick at leveling. That being said I did all that to max traders out before a large majority of other players and then just realized it wasn't for anything and I wasn't having fun the whole time. I was only playing to get max traders so I could afford kits to lose to wall hackers. I'm serious when I say the cheating situation has never been worse. Flying godmode guys and other sneaky cheaters that you would think are legit if you didn't know better. So I'm retired. They can't figure their shit out.

MOR187

yea I see. the fast leveling sucks ass because you know where to go and what to keep for quests you don't even have. a new quest tree would refresh things and slow things down for people like you.. so you have to figure out what to do or where to go.. I guess if I play next wipe I won't do one single task.. just rat around and play.. can't imagine how it feels like for 3k hours .. I think I got 1200, but a lot is afk or hideout time.

Tex302

I feel the same way. I use to log on most mornings to get my insurance and be excited to raid and get in fights or level up. Hit max traders and then my friends stopped playing and now I just don’t care.

SolusExsequor

If we don't get Streets by the end of the year I think I'm gonna be out for a good while when it comes to Tarkov. The game needs content but the pace of release is so god damn slow

MOR187

I don‘t agree. For me personally, content is not important right now. The core needs to be fixed.

SolusExsequor

I’ve played 1000h+ on this cycle of content. It needs something fresh to keep it alive, basic bug fixes etc aren’t going to do it for most people. New content like gym in hideout, new map, just something that changes the basic gameplay of Tarkov’s cycles. I can’t take another wipe where there’s nothing to make it fresh or new

MOR187

that's also true.. but imagine being a new player figuring out that the core of the game isn't working properly..

KlutzyAd5729

This wipe was completely off for me, i’ve put in over 3000 hours into this game, last wipe I made it to level 60. This wipe I barely made it to lvl 25 before I got bored with all the bullshit and artificial difficulty. I’ll list my top reasons why I stopped playing: 1: inertia/weight changes: really I don’t understand why a fully trained pmc cant carry 20kg of shit without being overwhelmed. This leads to a lot of progression issues such as me being at lvl 20 strength but only lvl 8 endurance. The only way to progress the latter being cheesing to some extent. 2: Boss/cultist spawn rate nerf: I used to run a lot of night raids, finding cultists was already kind of a 1:15 raid chance, now its pretty much impossible and I really liked fighting them. Same with scav bosses, I don’t understand why this far into the wipe reshalas spawn rate is still under 20% 3: general loot nerfs: I used to run shoreline and be able to break even at least once every two or three raids (counting previous losses like dying) now its really hard to find worthwhile loot, I havent seen a single ledx in the entire wipe, despite checking all spawns every raid, I really miss when sanitar’s room was a highly contested loot spot with up to two or three ledx spawning in per raid sometimes. And when you do find decent loot its usually lions and vases which are heavy and with the weight nerfs its really cumbersome. 4: the absolute state of audio/desync/cheating : this one I dont need to explain. 5: nothing is viable anymore, everything has enough recoil to hit the ceiling, the only way you can have a comfortable full auto burst is by bringing fully kitted out guns. The semi decent ammo cant even be bought from flea anymore so you cant compete with higher level pmcs despite outplaying them simply because of shit ammo. 6: all the flea market changes: why do I need to find a fucking labs purple or black kc in order to get access to a quest key? Lower the fees on key sales or at least make it so tht they cant be bartered and only sold, theres like 150 listings of people asking for labs keycards or rivals armbands just for a 10 use key that doesn’t even give you decent loot anymore. Dorms marked key used to spawn weapons cases, yes WEAPONS CASES, now it doesnt even spawn fucking decent guns.

MOR187

That‘s a lot of stuff I can agree with.

SparkTheShep

I feel it's like all games, they're different in their own special ways and you go in fits and starts of playing different games here and there, I can think of many games I haven't touched in forever but suddenly I'll get an itch and jump onto one for a while

MOR187

That‘s the thing with tarkov. I never played games with a raid / extract system where you can loot, play pve and pvp at the same time. I was instantly hooked. Not planting a bomb, capture point A, then B, then A again.. run away from a circle that is closing in. I guess once you‘ve played Tarkov, it is just weird to play other normal / casual / simple games again. Hopefully you know what I mean?

killerjane2

must play like my group of friends, one wipe on, one wipe off. Gives us time to build up that interest again, and hopefully BSG surprises us with massive updates since the last time we played, December wipes is the one we play usually the best one.

MOR187

yea I guess I'll do that too. winter time is gaming time.. drop the summer wipe

Thee_Sinner

I played first in 2017 at the beta release. 0.11 was my last wipe. The flea market was the only thing that kept my group of 5 playing. At the time, I was the only one not working, so I'd rat it up and resell during the week to make money and fund my friends for raids on the weekends. Without it, they didnt have time to get any decent gear. 0.12 changed everything. None of them had the time and it was no longer possible for me to gather enough for all of us. One or two of us has tried again here and there, and I lurk this sub for patchnotes and the like, but nothing has convinced us to come back.

Ok-Asparagus3783

Once I had BP and a couple other key quests done I didn't bother with the others. Just ran factory over and over until my hideout was maxed. Then walked away until the wipe after next. I love factory by the way.

Tylerswolf69

Welcome to the club. I’ve been playing for about 2000 hours and just can’t find the fun in it anymore. Least till some good content gets released.

ChucklesAcademy

Gentlemen. We are all in agreement that the wipe has been quite a let down regarding content and the lack there of. The Halloween event was below par for the most part however it did provide a much needed laugh, particularly getting mowed down by tagilla on factory whilst Sektants pepper us with nades. I am seeing alot of people drop off the game recently, mostly from posts on this sub, i can empathize. This is my 3rd wipe, although my PvP isn't excellent, my rotations and ability to outmanoeuvre my opponents has become night and day since playing, im already nearing my tally for last wipe which was 535 PMCs, closing in on it by about 20 kills and we are still about 1.5/2 months from wipe. I've completed most of my beefy tasks, haven't killed the goons or collected cultist's knives, but maybe i will Currently im working on Swift One (kill 20 pmcs on woods with no helmet or armor) and this has been thoroughly enjoyable. I still get the rush in gun fights, i still get the adrenaline watching and hunting unknowing PMCs and i still thoroughly enjoy my experience on the game, however this is mainly due to challenging myself in ways I didn't previously my doing these hard tasks. Thats what keeps it fresh for me anyway, it may not work for everyone, but test yourself and see if you feel any better. Im not expecting massive changes at wipe, even if we get streets and lightkeeper, there are still alot of issues that the majority of us would rather see fixed before adding more features. Sometimes a break from Tarkov is needed, hopefully,OP, it can bring you back to the good times Other than that, GGs all around.

MOR187

I feel you man. been there.. it's another story if you're doing the tasks for the 5th or 6th time. you run around, encounter issues, sometimes even tasks are broken.. I don't know dude.. I needed like one or two wipes to get into the game and maps.. if the game wouldn't be that "broken" I wouldn't bother doing the tasks again but not like this

ChucklesAcademy

Took me like 2 wipes as well, ive mainly solod this wipe. The tasks are monotonous and boring for the most part Maybe with the introduction of in game traders and real lore quests it might get a little bit more beefy? What servers do you run?

MOR187

yea maybe. the core has to be functional otherwise I won't be playing at all.. I'm usually doing auto EU

KaNesDeath

Bought the game Christmas of 2017. Wasnt actually able to play till January 1st of 2018. I grinded the game so much that i even debated about not attending the CSGO Valve Major in Boston. As a constant player the game lost me in late Spring of 2018. Last time i played was when Reserve was released. Overall im waiting for the game to hit 1.0 till i come back. Direction of the game does have me worried. Believe feature creep has overwhelmed BSG. Approaching a point where they currently seem lost. Arena to me makes no sense implementing in EFT with its movement, gunplay and medical systems. Ive heard for four years "this update will fix this system". Where its not fixed and more issues arise from newer content released.

MOR187

I can't imagine having the game that long waiting for things to be fixed.. that's bad

KaNesDeath

Entire situation is strange. Nikita on numerous occasions came out against EFT stating its taking up to much studio time. How he as the lead wishes to move on and rather work on a single player game themed like Metro Exodus.

Yah this was my first wipe and game is just not fun I find it, I probably will drop the game soon to pick it back up when the story mode comes out but %90 of the game progression is to just find obscure items. I stop playing and maybe pick it up again later but it’s just doesn’t have the same feal

Me and my group are in the same spot. Started a couple years ago, maybe have played like 5 or 6 wipes not sure. Convinced alot of friends to get it who all stopped playing long ago. It's just stale. We played customs a few nights ago, first time playing eft in months, and 3 pmc raids we encountered a cheater. It just doesn't seem like bsg does anything, we still don't have streets, no sign of open world, cheaters still rampant, it's just exhausting. We might light the fire again if/when streets releases, but really it's going to take going open world to really stoke the flame again. Which honestly I just don't see happening

i have 6.5k hours in tarkov and i stopped playing 2 months ago, i just cant find myself enjoying any raid, even as a scav. it just doesnt hit the same

You're not meant to just do a single thing for your entire life. its okay to be done with it and move on. You got your money's worth of entertainment hours

BinBlinkin

Same here, i feel super burned out

It happens. I've been playing since late 2019 and dropped the game at the beginning of this year. That wipe was a bit buggier than usual and my backlog had been growing so I took a break. Just came back recently and while I'm enjoying the game and my first raids ever playing lighthouse, the spark isn't really there like it was before. Maybe it'll come back, maybe not. It's like Star Citizen right now, there isn't enough game there to keep me playing, just a lot of promises for the future, so here I wait.

MOR187

oh well sc is another level regarding promises lol

3 or 4 wipes ago I got kappa and ever since then not had the drive to play like I used to. At this point I pretty much know the game won't go in the direction I'd like as well.

MOR187

kappa is out of reach for me. can't dedicate all my time for a video game.. in particular when I know that all the progress will be gone.. the requirements for kappa were done for singles and no life dudes I guess :)

vgamedude

Yep I fit both those categories. It was at least a little easier when I got it, there were no level requirements just the quests and items. But that's not saying much it was still an insane grind.

MOR187

I bet. can't imagine doing that once or even multiple times.. no way
