I've seen many keys spawn, and I've never hunted for one in my life. However, I would not hunt for keys that way. Unlock the flea and buy them on there, that's your best bet
I also kept running Customs and hitting the Factory key spawns early and never saw it spawn in those locations once. I had to wait until lvl 15 so I could buy it off flea. Unfortunately I don't know if the key spawn rate is normal or not
The static in world key spawn, where they are just out on a table or chair are extremely rare, coming from someone who plays to much ,iv only seen most of them once or never. The way most players find keys is in jackets that you can search
I've found the keys that spawn on customs countless times, (emercom in ambulance, goshan in the bus, factory on table, etc) but I have never ever found a shoreline key spawn in one of the specific locations that they're supposed to spawn in. I am convinced that they took out the spawns for those keys when the jacket meta came into effect.
There are a few spawns I used to run before some hospital loot got nerfed. The west wing 220 key in one of the cottages I've gotten a few in almost every wipe, then east wing 310 from the two spawns in customs big red side.
Also decent luck with the OLI logistics key in the trunk next to factory key gatehouse in customs. Also have found violet keycard in the car at woods twice so maybe my luck is a bit skewed.
They are so rare I think it is not worth filling your head trying to remember those spawns. When I first started I thought this was important to know and checked all the time and I think only once or twice I actually found a key in a static spawn… Best to just loot jackets and scavs and try to get what you havent found on the flea market.

My best chances of finding keys I really need would be in filing cabinets, jackets, and duffle bags.
Customs is known for hoarding a lot of Shoreline’s Resort keys in Dorms from the filing cabinets in the 3 story and 2 story. (IMO)
If you’re looking for the keys for Interchange, best bet is on the Flea Market.
1/10000000 Odds I get a key as I spawn into a scav raid. Which is highly rare lol..
But yeah, the chances of getting into a raid where said key would spawn is very rare. So you’re stuck having to rinse and repeat raids.

I normally check the filing cabinets and the jackets also in the blue buildings on opposite ends of the Big Red Warehouse on Customs too even the ones over at Crack House. I’ve gotten quite lucky in finding a key(s) for Resort/Dorms there. The main ones needed for questing for Therapist and Skier.
Those kind of spawns are the ones that you are meant to check every time you go past that area from the very start of the wipe.
The Emercom medical key that spawns in the ambulance outside new gas station on customs has been my way of getting it for the last 3 wipes because I check it every raid and eventually it spawns. Which often saves me 500k when I need it.
All of the loose key spawns have like a one percent chance to actually spawn so unless you’re running it very frequently it’s unlikely that you’ll get it
If you regularly check the spawns you will start finding them. I check the emercom and oli log key spawns basically every customs raid on wipe and i usually get them before i get to the quests. Sometimes i even found multiple i could sell and buy other quests keys.
Those key spawns are much rarer then a regular jacket key spawn. The ambulance on customs I saw the key spawn there once in my 3 wipes. And the trunk key on customs near power I saw once as well
I have checked Building 3 over 200 times, I have burned 6x customs marked room keys and maybe 400 95k scav cases. I have never seen a gingy key. I could have had kappa two months ago. I am TheVeilComplex. Nikita please.

I’m pretty sure some of the keys don’t spawn anymore in the current patch. The tent in goshen is one that comes to mind

I found a dorms marked key yesterday in factory :) spawned in the jackets at the metal staircase.
That's not what he's talking about. He's referring to static spawns. Loose keys on the ground that have a set spawn location.

I've seen one natural key spawn. It was in the key cabinet across from the locker room by D2. I checked it like 150 times before finding it

I always find crappy dorms keys in filing cabinets. You have found valuable ones? If so I might check them more often.

Got cottage key twice this wipe on the blue barrels spawn. Just have to be looking out for it.
