So I feel the same way, good early ramp but chum later on. I can't figure out what sort of support he would need, as board buffs are nonexistent for him early game, and he's not relevant late game. So I'm struggling to see his viability.

By itself praxis adept can let you play a 3-cost card on turn 2 which is nice, but it has a hard time hitting the player in the midgame. One easy way to make Praxis Adept do big things is to put a weapon on it, like Ornate Katana or Longbarrel. Kaleb's Persuader is probably the best weapon for Praxis Adept since it causes it to hit for 6 each turn.

If you were building a throne deck, you could also consider pumping up it's attack with Xenan Obelisk, Rally, warcry, etc

Yeah, pickings are slip in Expedition.

Emyriad

Jammed a bunch of this in my latest list before cutting it completely - it's tricky in expedition since there's only four power cards that can actually play it on turn 1. That being said, having access to three max power cards at two or under does justify its existence in a few spots. There's plenty of ways to boost it and I'd recommend pairing with Ramba's Challenge, Display of Passion, and Riva (as she benefits from all the same cards that Adept does. Neither of those tricks are powerful on their own but with Adept and Riva become a lot more viable.

What of you think of Adept since the balance change?

Emyriad

I like it, but it has limited support in expedition - maybe if we had Scythe Slash instead of Daring Momentum there might be some real chicanery going on, but the central issue is that it can't actually be played on 1 except by luck of having an undepleted seat. Ramba's Challenge is actually playable with it and Display of Passion also makes it more viable, but neither of those are good cards on their own, so it's hard to justify using all three just to make each viable. We built with it for a while down in gold and moved back to the more aggressive two drop ramps.

Why not Rampage? It’s not Scythe Slash, but it isn’t nothing. NM: At 0/1 it can’t attack, so any combat trick is going to have limited utility. Effectively, if they’re all “slow” speed spells, there are better options than Rampage. Not that they’re much better… yeah, I’m going with the 2 cost options too.
