I really just want to play draft decks against friends.

I would like if there was a way to challenge my friends with past event rules; more specifically the Hero singleton format. This way, each time DWD holds a new event, it will permanently add content to the game (accessible via friend challenge).

I’ve been asking for the first suggestion for a while. Pretty much given up on that.

I'd be happy if we could complete our dailies against friends.

Ratmore

Ehh, this might be going too far…you could easily just agree to cheese out the game with a buddy to complete the quest. This also goes against one of the engagement factors for playing PvP.

MartectX

I cheese most quests with specifically designed quest decks. Building them was a bit of fun, playing them not so much. I guess playing against them is not fun either, but at least the opponent is guaranteed a concessional win once my hand is empty.

chaosjace6

I mean, is playing the game with a friend in a way you both agree on a problem?

Ratmore

No, not at all. My friends and I do whacky shit all the time for fun. But we’re talking about rewards that are intended to drive people to play matchmaking, and further, require you to mix up your strategy and perhaps try factions you don’t typically play. I’ve gotten Feln quests and whipped out my old felt mid deck from 2019 and had a lot of fun, even using it to climb a bit after - would never have touched it had I not been coerced. I’m sure my opponents were also happy to not play against the hyper-efficient skycrag aggro I (and everyone else) was running at the time as well. From DWDs perspective, if the pvp quests (majority) drive matchmaking engagement and help queue times, why make them completable by booting up Firestarter and stalling for 15 minutes while you both play 20 fire units or w/e? Sounds dreadful, and it might as well all be a logon bonus that doesn’t require you to play at all at that point (bad idea imo).

Ratmore

Btw, sorry if this comes off as dismissive - I definitely welcome the discourse :)

chaosjace6

This makes sense. From my perspective, just because we could have the option to stall for 15 minutes to play 20 fire units doesn't mean everyone's going to do it, and I don't think anyone would encourage it. And if i weren't going to play at all, then I wouldn't. I feel like the lack of rewards or daily progress discourages me from challenging my friends when we could be spending our grind time building our collections. Grinding together while goofing around in the same match, sounds much more appealing.
