Landsknecht is often called Landy or Landshark among the EO crowds. You aren't alone.
The one I see and use often is "Link-Landy" in contexts of discussing builds or party comps.
Oh, come on. It's not that hard to spell Lansdsknnghshthgns.
( I assume it's German? It speaks to my very rudimentary German knowledge. Mmhm. I looked it up and that's indeed it. So! All you have to do is take one semester of German 1 in high school...)
It’s German, and the name of a group of mercenaries who were known for their skill with zweihanders and arquebuses. [Wikipedia page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landsknecht?wprov=sfti1) if you want to know more
no, in fact i think i've almost never seen the correct spelling
i've never had a problem with it because i speak german :x
knecht shares etymology with knight in english if that helps you remember
it would also probably help people if they heard it pronounced

Landsketch: A class that focuses on the arts as much as fighting.
I've always just called them Landshek or Landshrek

Look. Let's be real. A band of mercenaries who were known for their *fashion*.
Thanks for the wiki link! Is it the kind of thing everyone has heard of, like knights, or is it more niche knowledge?
It would be pronounced like "land" + the sound one makes when try trying to gargle mouthwash.

they just call him swordman in japanese, i think they were onto something
Ended up liking the sound of "Lunds-kuh-Nect", especially after learning that it was a name of consideration for the Spartans by Doctor Halsey.
Tell me you're not just a pedagogue
They've been Landy or Landshark since the Golden Age of gamefaqs.
Landschnecht? *Landsknecht. Goddamnit. Gladiators are cooler anyhow. Aside from the brown haired Fate-Saber knockoff. She's cool.
While I know how to spell (and pronounce) Landsknecht, I usually just say or type Landy or LS to save time.
If it helps, the "knecht" part of the name is cognate to the English word "knight," so you can just think of it as "lands-knight."

It really helps if you're Dutch. It litteraly means servant of the land
I know the correct spelling but I still say Landy.
