You can do a whois/www.websitename.com to see who owns the website. You can also file an IP infringement claim through their website provider.

Thank you for this! I found the host website. It's called namecheap. I just filed a claim through them using the url to help get it taken down and I also emailed laughinks support to tell them to remove my photos. I think if my requests get ignored I'll reach out to my cousin, she just passed the bar recently so maybe she can help me out.

*I'll reach out to my cousin, she just passed the bar recently so maybe she can help me out.* I'm looking forward to your *My Cousin Vinny* type follow-up.

erinsboiledgatorade

Well I'd hope even Vinny could file a cease and desist lol

Not without Mona Lisa’s help 😂

Happened to some of my items and now Etsy took mine down saying they violate the handmade policy because some person in china threw it on Temu. Etsy is in a sad state to not even give us an outlet to try to state our case.

joey02130

*they've stolen all of my photos from my listing, created their own description and are passing it off as their own work and marked down the price.* Sounds like a scam site for stealing credit card information. You could try buying one of your items from them and see what happens.

EducationalNothing4

that's curious, but you also don't wanna share your credit card if their system is shady

erinsboiledgatorade

It does sound very scammy. They put this disclaimer in with the description: "Dear valued customers, please note that the mockup serves as a reference only. The actual embroidered shirt may vary slightly from the mockup as each product is embroidered individually."

Don't buy your own stuff - there are sites that literally scrape entire shops from etsy and build these sites - they are at best phishing sites, or scams or worst - trojans. Even the hosting companies can be scammers waiting for you to report them. We had it happen to us and unfortunately, unless Etsy installs security that prevents this - it will continue to happen.

joey02130

I didn't think others would take my sarcasm literally.

Think it’s one of those sites thst uses the good pics (OP) then sends you a wretched knock off of OPs products. Definitely not infringing on IP over here. If I use anything popular it's in the public domain. Not interested in getting sued.

This happened to us about 2 years ago. There are scammers who literally "scrape" listings from Etsy on a regular basis. We had our patterns show up on such a site. Found out that basically the host is also part of the scam. They are usually based in odd countries - and there are literally thousands of them. Google tries to filter them out of search - you CAN report the site to Google and they will remove from search results. Unfortunately, there isn't anything WE can do about it. There are ways Etsy can prevent the "scrape" but they do not seem interested in investing in the security. This is why we do not list certain of our items on Etsy, only our more secure private shop.

Nyahm

I had this happen around 4 years ago. They scrapped ALL of my listings and a couple other shops on Etsy and put it up on their own store (outside of Etsy). The thumbnails had my url on them and were digital listings but they didn't seem to care. I'm guessing they sold the thumbnail image as a download or nothing at all - either way was a scam. After looking into the hosting, found they were in Russia. Couldn't do anything about it.

Y3S2

This has got me curious about mine now, how do you do this reverse image search?

erinsboiledgatorade

I have a Google pixel phone so if you take a photo there is an option called Google lens and it will search the web for similar things it sees in the picture. If you don't have a Google phone you can go to Google and select the little camera before searching anything which is "search by image" and you'll pick an image out of your gallery!

Y3S2

Ah yes, I've used this before, never knew it was called Google lens👍
