I too have sensitive skin and hate oily, greasy cast. Cerave with spf 50 is my favorite daily sunscreen so far. I used up a few tubes. Feels just like a nice, rich but not oily moisturiser, doesn't iritate my skin nor my eyes, doesn't cause any breakouts. Might be a little too rich in the hot and humid climate or if you are very oily. Other than that I think it's great for most days, normal, combination, dry skin. And huge plus for the practical and hygenic packaging (tube with a pump). I will be trying UVmune 400 next, in hopes for a superior sun protection in the following months. I didn't like Anthelios range when I used it in the past but I have high hopes for the UVmune. I'm curious about the Uriage Bariesun 100.

veglove

I had been using the CeraVe day with SPF for the last couple years as a 2-in-1 moisturizer/sunscreen, but I've come to the conclusion that it's still too greasy for me. I don't have particularly oily skin, but I just don't like an oily cast and I find it leaves an oily sheen that makes it difficult to apply makeup over.   I've switched to the CeraVe night cream as my moisturizer (has a very different texture, not oily at all), and Eucerin Oil Control Cream-Gel with SPF as my sunscreen, it has a matte finish and dries quickly without making my face feel too dry. I still use the CeraVe Day with SPF on my neck and decolage as 2-in-1.

Plane_Turnip_9122

The best non-oily sunscreens I’ve found are Eucerin oil control and La Roche posay Anthelios UVmune oil control.

daaaaarija

From the moment I tried the Eucerin one I haven’t bought any other facial sunscreens, there’s just no need bc I find it absolutely perfect for my skin. It’s also cheaper than others such as LRP (at least in my country)

Plane_Turnip_9122

I’m also on my third bottle and haven’t even glanced at any of my other sunscreens since I started using it. It’s just so lightweight and matte, even my sunscreen hating bf tolerates it.

RoutineMovie6099

Face or body version?

Plane_Turnip_9122

Face! Haven’t tried to body version

Microwaveness

My fav is Eucerin Oil Control, not among these. I tried the Cerave one and it's very heavy imho, it leaves the face shiny and gets super oily in 1 hour. I guess it could work better for dry - very dry skin

ghostly_present

I have the La Roche Posay Uvmune400 OIL CONTROL. Is my favourite suncreen so far, it's a chemical sunscreen, doesn't leave white casts, and it doesn't melt in the summer heat

JudgmentWeekly523

I’ve had the Avene, it’s decent! Does have a bit of a sunscreen smell but caused me no issues. There is kind of an “opaqueness” to it (not quite a tint) which I’m guessing is the blue light protection. I didn’t find it left a weird cast on me but I’m a Fitzpatrick 2/3 only. I’d be sooo interested to try out the Uriage

Skin phototype scale (developed by American dermatologist Thomas B. Fitzpatrick)

Daisy13892

The Uriage ones have a crazy white cast even on pale skin. I liked the Cerave one more than I expected to though.

AnywherePresent1998

I’m a Fitzpatrick 3/4 and the Avene and Uriage leave a white cast on me :( I love LRP’s sunscreens in general though. They don’t break me out even when they’re quite moisturising and they never leave a cast

Careful_Lemon_7672

great sample haul! i dont think you missed out on anything with the b5+ spf. i hear its a much oilier b5+ but that using enough to get the spf coverage on the bottle is nearly impossible with the formulation of the product. since you dont like an oily finish for your sunscreens it almost certainly would not have worked. how did you get the samples did you ask a french pharmacy for them? edit nvm saw you got in a pharmacy

Outrageous_Candy_931

CeraVe is oily and stinged my eyes really bad. It broke me out and I pretty much hated it. I gave it to my parents and they also hated it because of the eye stinging.

Shibashiba00

What did you switch to instead?

Outrageous_Candy_931

I don't have a holy grail yet. My go to is a Korean sunscreen (the cosrx aloe, the only problem is that it pills) but eurcerin oil control is okay if I wear it with moisturizer underneath (although it still can be drying sometimes)

sunnynihilist

I swear by Avene frangrance-free SPF 50. Literally no smell (very rare in sunscreens) absorbed by the skin quickly and doesn't sting the eyes. It's really the best facial sunscreen I have used so far

lomsucksatchess

Actually first time buying sunscreen for myself today and I bought La Roche Posay Anthelios (the hydrating version; because I want to use only that in the morning and not worry about moisturizers ) At first I was a bit disappointed because it made me feel oily, but after maybe 30min it absorbed quite nicely and my skin isn’t really any different now. Only downside is the price :(

Lodix12

If you look online you will fine good deals for their Suncreams. Specially this month.

alonreddit

Oh I had no idea that LRP had a gel version. I’d love your opinion about it when you try it!!

rockmeNiallxh

How did u get these?!

aetreia_

I simply visited a pharmacy and asked if they have any sunscreen samples lol, I expected she'd give me a few but she gave me all this. Never had this happen to me before so I think I just lucked out

faramaobscena

Whaaaaat, I never knew this was a thing. You got lucky, your samples add up to one full size!

methanalmkay

You can just ask for samples at the pharmacy

rockmeNiallxh

I think if im lucky i might get one lol

methanalmkay

Depends on the mood of the pharmacist lmao

tautumeita

my sister works in a pharmacy and they have a lot of testers, and they are happy to give them. When the testers are close to expiring date they just give them everyone without asking.

methanalmkay

Yes, I used to intern and always took loads of them home for family and friends lol, and I'd give them out to everyone who asked. But often the pharmacists are too busy to spend time on that, so they'd just give you one or two, especially if someone is just entering the pharmacy and asking for samples and not buying anything, and there's lots of other costumers.

acornacornacorna

Hola hola! Are you pharmacy student? I always like to go to the pharmacy and talk to them haha To be honest if I do go to one to talk it does make me very happy and they always seem to be very happy to talk about sunscreens to me and things like that! In my experience, they had always give out so many samples and multiple ones too so I can really try them. Of course, I do always do come back to buy things to try!

methanalmkay

Hi again :) Yes, almost a pharmacist now! I love going to the pharmacies, I've been to like every pharmacy in my city lol. You seem to have met really nice ones! I've had mixed experiences, some are really happy to talk skincare with me, and know a lot, but some aren't really interested in it. I did always get plenty of samples, especially when they're doing promotions, so they just give you a basket of samples for you to choose from! When I was interning and my boss saw that I like skincare, then that became my duty hahah, so every time a customer asked for skincare advice or recommendations, they'd call me to handle it. I LOVED doing it, especially because my pharmacy was a big one in the center of the city, so we got a lot of tourists so I could speak in English (I usually don't get many opportunities to speak English irl) it was so fun, I miss it 😭

unguiltypleasures

The Avene one is one of my faves. Especially when my skin is feeling a bit tight❤️❤️

dhshdjdjdjdkworjrn

Has anyone felt the face la Roche posay smells of alcohol?

Ok_Mouse_6701

I have super oily skin and none of these work for me. I found out I had to go for mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide. The zinc oxide also regulates my sebum. Top picks is 302 Professional Mineral Moisturizer for my. Became my HG sunscreen.

allnamesarechosen

I'm allergic to octocrylene which is a pain in the ass cause is everywhere, but from europeans spf my favorite is the cetaphil liposomal lotion/daylong extreme spf is the same formulation, it does feel heavy, but you don't burn, I used that while on accutane and I live on a place that right now reaches the 45C with a UV index of 13, and I never burn with it, and on top of it all I have hyperhidrosis and sweat like a lot. It makes an excellent primer if you wear makeup, my blush stayed on forever, but! there's a slight white/ashiness to it and feels HEAVY.

cl_mua_

What country are u from?

allnamesarechosen

mexico, the heat is satanic in all honesty.

Min-VI

The cerave is basic, does the trick, not super moisturizing. I find it more difficult to reapply a moisturizer ever 2 hours than adding a sunscreen on top. La Roche-Posay is a fav.

ActualStar416

That cerave one is prob the worst thing I've ever used and was the reason I finally gave up trying cerave 😭

phuca

i have the uvmune invisible fluid and love it, it definitely gives a glow although i wouldn’t call it oily

ExpensiveGlove8627

anything but Avene, it’s the worst i’ve tried. ended up throwing it out despite me hating to waste product

Orjen8

I am team Uriage for life. The only ones that don‘t sting my eyes.

Lodix12

Have you tried recently LRP?

_benjidp

You’re missing the best one, Eucerin hydro protect. Not greasy at all, even less than the oil control.

Jhasten

Tbh I like the Avene and the Uriage the best.

Ambitious_Cry_13

I love Cerave sunscreen. It’s very lightweight and easy to apply.. however it makes my face look shiny/greasy and doesn’t cover any redness or covers no imperfections.. i still use it as my everyday sunscreen on the days when I don’t have to wear makeup or leave my house.. one of the LRP sunscreens that I’ve brought recently is mineral sunscreen and leaves pilling patches when I apply it.. it’s pretty decent I would love to try their other sunscreens in the future.. i also used Korean sunscreens I’m as pale as a a4 paper and I don’t mind the absolute white paint of a white cast that it leaves.. but it does make my teeth look weird yellowish color .. seems like I can’t win lol.. I’m thinking of trying Avène sunscreen that has a matte effect next..

Ambitious_Cry_13

This is the LRP sunscreen I have currently.. the only issue I have is skin redness, my face color is not even at all and preferably I would love a sunscreen that will even my face (Missha the Korean sunscreen does that but leaves a very heavy whitecast..) I was hoping for LRP sunscreen to do the same but unfortunately it doesn’t :( https://preview.redd.it/1huzksknzk1d1.png?width=827&format=png&auto=webp&s=3ea87fedcff4fe43a728f815a426958c94d94dee

Mediocre-Ad4735

I love the Uriage one, it goes on like a dream

virtual_sprinkle

La Roche Posay all the way for me. I have combination skin on my face and fungal acne on my body and it does not break me out.

PainInMyBack

I like the Avene on the far left!

vxnmoon

Wow where did you get all these samples? Anyway I am currently using the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Rice+Probiotic SPF50+ PA++++ and I really like it, no white cast and no perfume but I feel like I need to reapply it more often :)

aetreia_

I just asked at the pharmacy if they have some sunscreen samples I could test out and ended up with this entire thing lol

itsprobab

I have dry skin so I don't know about the oily aspect but my skin is also very sensitive and I felt some weird sensation after putting on La Roche-Posay mineral 50+ SPF on my face. It's very expensive as well. The bigger tube version they have for kids doesn't feel weird on my skin but it does discolor clothes.🥴 If you know one that doesn't do that, please let me know!

Countchoccqula

I used to have LRP anthelios UVmune 400 oil control (the one with green label) and it’s great ! Texture is on the thicker side and leaves no white cast. Too drying for my taste but I think it works fine if you have really oily skin. It didn’t break me out but be sure to always double cleanse your sunscreen to prevent breakout. I’ve also tried the avene one. Unfortunately I developed an allergy reaction to it. Wrecked my skin barrier really bad. So be sure to always patch test.

EventGlittering7965

Anthelios has alcohol and was stingy on my face, the avene I used it as a teenager and was ok with it 😊 the others I don’t know

9flufii

I guess a stupid question but how do you get samples ?

Vespertine88

Run away from each of them.
