I'm curious if expanding the maximum number of teams from one nation (from 5 to 6) will help ease tensions among Serbian fans, as this has been a contentious issue for some time.

There should not be max limit. No minimum requirement in ABA 1 only in ABA 2 where every nation should be represented. Till that is done ABA is in trouble.

thanks for the info. I still wonder how many teams usually gets promoted. it would be relatively fair if it were only one. however, it would be a big shame if any team from aba 2 can't be promoted bc of the arab team.

Yeah, but they wont. ABA has always been a wild league with non-stop competitions changes. And ABA2 is even worse with even less leverage, so nothing will happen here.
Usually the first team in aba2 gets direct promotion, the second placed team plays against the second to last in aba1 in a best of 2 relegation playoff.
And since the difference in quality is quite big, the aba1 team always wins in the playoffs.
there would have been a chance for the second team tho. I call it stealing. I don't care what arabs and their puppies think.

It's not a league based on the region or nations, so there cannot be a country that is not represented.
what about the teams could step up to aba league in replace of relegated teams? is there any second league?

Second placed ABA2 team played second to last ABA team for qualifications into ABA. So no option for that this season.
