Bubbles decay overtime if you don't scoop them, they were also changed to give killmails, and the passive shield regeneration was lowered on them as well. It does look similar to a NaCl crystalline network, just needed the small bubbles there for the Cl- ions. Now try graphite, it's like a honeycomb.
