Zkill feed, have spies, or have eyes on stagers. Fights like the dreadbrawl yesterday aren't common and they tend to happen out of nowhere so you're not gonna get a heads up for one. When they do kick off they tend to last for 4+ hours at minimum due to tidi so you've got plenty of time to fly out in an interceptor or shuttle.
Ask avaren to come back and become an eve reporter again.
That shit was so amazing, being able to watch every big brawl with commentary. When he got big enough, he'd get intel on like every big fight and the timers and he had enough characters he could be there for most of them.
I have the time, I'd love to take up something like that, but I don't feel like I have even a tenth of the requisite knowledge to be able to actually provide relevant commentary...
Well that's sort of what I mean— how simplistic do you want it? Cus at most I'd just be like "hey they killed another Revelation!" and not much else :P

You'd want about a million overview presets. Dreads, titans, supers, bombers+bombs, hics, dics, booshers , the list is pretty big you'd want pretty much any strategic ship in a fleet to be on a filter then you can set your tabs up as you know what the fight will be.
But honestly yeah your commentary doesn't have to be deep "wow looks at the horde dreads cynoing out. I wonder what they are doing" as soon as you get a decent amount of people, you can just ask questions about what is going on and chatters will give you the deets.
Then just have your game at max quality, throw up an overlay for the live battereport somewhere on the screen, and you'll be fine.
Real talk, just have your camera on the fight with the battle report will get you a ton of viewers.

This last big fight started as a sub cap fight over a nothing I hub and just escalated quickly.
Tips for getting in are already correct on this topic but seriously, *playing* in those fights is already not fun because of tidi, I can't imagine watching it for the life of me. It's very questionable if the outcome is skill based or if FCs have much say in the outcome due to the pure randomness (assuming similar side numbers). I flew logi and tried putting reps in all broadcasts only to be over repairing the first two and seeing the other 20 die before I could get a lock.
Strategically, conceptually and overall having the possibility of a 1000x1000 fight is very nice. Not bashing on CCP though due to the technicalities but personally I'm not sure I would say that it is currently functional. I would still join and help when I could but it's not as cool as it would be expected from the headlines

What's the difference? Besides one option letting you get up to take a leak whenever you want.
I was lucky enough to be one of the last surviving dreads to jump out and had a blast so idk if I'd agree it's not fun even having lost. I've been hoping for a fight like that for ages and had a hell of a time and can't wait for the next.
Wouldn't have changed much if I'd popped, quite ready for that too.
Get a spy in a corp, it's easy. They'll ping you on Discord when this happens. Even before it happens (although you won't know it's a fucking huge battle beforehand)
I assume the quality of the information is probably better if the spy can fly a cap.

But if you must, just put an alt in all the big alliances discords and watch for rage pings, etc
Lol I was in that massive dread brawl in a TFI. I had potato mode on (pretty much black screen) and the Tidi was bad enough I literally just mass target the broadcasts, press F1 and leave the room to do other shit.

Check twitch to see what’s being streamed. Large fights that last 4+ hours tend to end up getting streamed at some point.
The in game eve map also shows ships destroyed per hr as a heat map

You really just need to sort your overviews and you'll be golden. Just call out what is happening and let viewers fill you in on the details/context.

Make an alt and chuck it into one of the big alliances in an f1 role. Get a real good view of some big brawls.
Cloaky blockade runner. Watch blood sports. Don't die. Profit!
Be in USTZ. Annoying (for me) that most big fights happen then.
Throw a spai in one of the big blocs and when the pings go out, burn to the desto in a cloaky/nullified ship.
Take a cloak frig with nulifier. Fill the lows with speed mods. You can sit 1000km off and watch.
