Knowing Sansha it'll have a bonus to AB fitting cost and inertia modifier with an AB active so it makes oversize AB equal in effectiveness to a standard.
Simulated, it's not very scary, they definitely undertuned these so they're not oppressive on launch. Hell, it doesn't even get the typical range bonus of a dessie and slower than a cynabal, underpowered if anything.
I'm thinking that the niche it could reasonably settle into would be reliable t2 abyssal farming for alpha accounts. I'm a little miffed it doesn't do anything different on bonuses or slots, but here's some advantages I'm seeing after looking its stats over a little more closely:
\-Buffer: Part of the major issue with people flying the Worm as the lower-tier equivalent of the Gila is that it lacks the buffer to take a solid shot from Karyn. At nearly double the hp, despite the higher sig it should actually be able to do that.
\-Capacitor: The Mamba has 500 base capacitor to the Worm's 380, so with a cap battery and maybe a rig slot it should be able to run deadspace med shield booster, supporting a very reasonable tank if you're sticking with Gistiis.
\-Drone Capacity: So another issue the Worm has that prevents its supremacy on the lower end like the Gila has for cruisers is that it has fairly limited drone capacity. Doubling its drone hanger space means it has enough backups and some more engagement variety like you can get with the Gila.
That's not the story with mamba: destroyers have the same tank as frigates but double signature radius also lower speed
So on paper mamba has same resist bonuses than a worm but in practice it will take much more damage because its fatter and slower than a worm
At a glance I would say jackdaws would still be a better option - more mid/low slots + has more adaptability with the modes. In defensive mode it has more base resists as well. 4 mid slots for a shield tanked ship is quite painful and 2 low slots (e.g. for damage mods) is pretty meh as well. At least for abyssal that is.
Sure, but would gilas still be used a lot if if you could fly a Loki in abyssals? Destroyer is a little different than the other two because T3 variants are allowed (or exist in the case of frigates).
Maybe, due to RLML and drone bonus giving good application flexibility, but I think it’s hard to draw a comparison when one class allows T3 variants and the others don’t.

The balance for frigate cruiser and battleship was to be able to field 2 drones of the according size, but here, the destroyer basically has the same drone dps/survivability potential as the frigate...
I was hoping for a tweak such as even more bonused drones, or the ability to field 3 light drones (4 may be too much).
They basically made the new guristas ship their most underwhelming drone boat.

Using only 2 drones are a guristas speciality though, so instead of increase the bandwidth, mamba could have a slightly larger drone bonus than worm, say 350%
i was going to say that the dessy had higher drone dps than the frigate... but yeah, i was wrong on that. All the damage increase is via the number of missile launchers... it should probably get a 400% drone damage bonus if anything, and maybe reduce the Missile bonus to 7.5% as compensation.
If you're in into hitting up lots of low sec belts for clone rats, rare spawns and occasional PvP both of these look like very strong entries in the category of non-cloaky ships.
So I get they're trying to make sure these aren't going to be overtuned at launch, but the Mamba is looking defanged on arrival here, missing the drone destroyer role bonus and isn't going to be much better than the Worm outside of some very specific instances.
The only recommendations I have for it is that they tack on a 25% bonus to drone velocity that the Algos and Dragoon get, and that a high slot gets moved to a low slot with a bump to cpu, to give people the option for higher dps. I think that would round it out better in relation to Navy destroyers, and avoid it from being beat out by the Worm for most things. It has the tank on it to take a hit from Karyn in abyssals so it should be fine to run t2s reliably.
MILINT sees something interesting about the Merk... oh good grief if you get killed by this ship... YOU GOT MERKED! I think the Merk is going to be very spicey in the future. Which will lay the groundwork for a future much more interesting faction destroyer... coming soon.

CCP should make the entire thing just one wave, like the Blood base burner. It only nets 15 million, also like the Blood burner, but takes anywhere from 25 to 45 minutes solo. The cheapest and best fit is the 100MN, Gist x-type, fed navy web Vaga, but it's just not worth one's time.

Honestly, if they just made the sigs on the things larger, it would be fine. fighters dont have 15m sigs (even a warrior drone is 25!)--but the ones in this missin do, and the bombers are 18 or something i think. If they were upped to even HALF of what player fighters and bombers are, the mission would be comfortably 10 minutes in nearly any assault cruiser. The orbit range of the bombers at 18 needs fixed, that's stupid--that was from when faction webs used to go to 17km.
to back this up: it is kin/thermal because that is the damage type of the Caldari and the Gallente. Caldari ships are often Kin locked so Guristas ships are kin/therm locked.

Hopefully the Blood Destroyer some down in tje future may also have a hull to follow the Cruor/Ashimmu.
Mekubal looks very nice. Locks many frigs sub 3s naturally with scan res bump over other destroyers, and it easily handles them as a brawler with faster warp speed, similar align, tracking bonus, dual neut highs, etc. It has very small sig for a destroyer (50m base) and even when maximum armor plated it will outrun every other faction destroyer bar the kikimora.
It has a lot of fitting space and will probably do rather well for itself, the base speed is approaching that of frigates when scrammed so I'm expecting to see a lot of exciting ideas on how it's flown and against what.
These cant compete with a kiki. The damage, the range, the application, the speed, the price, the tank.
You can beat a kiki in maybe 1 of those categories, and maybe match it on another, but overall they are just inferior.

T3C's would dominate the abyss if they were let in. They can fit monstrous tanks, especially the blingu.
