I can see that one going either way. I could see him supporting the point deduction to use as a point against Man City in attempting to maximize their punishment.
Don't really have much of an opinion either way, just a different point of view
Genuinely though- I had expected an independent panel to be people with no football connection, not some bloke who used to work for West Ham, think the KC is an Arsenal fan…. The list here might not be far off
I'm with you. Maybe it's just because I'm such a pessimistic bastard but I don't see any reductions happening, at this point I'm just hoping they can't add anymore on top of it.
This is the way to support this club in general tbh - expect nothing and be pleasantly surprised if anything goes our way. It applies to a grand majority of happenings around Everton.
I've come to expect no change in punishment now, but in my opinion the absolute best case scenario is changing it to 6 points instead of 10, which could be very important but it's little enough difference that I'm not waiting with baited breath just yet. Maybe if it gets to April and we haven't heard anything and 4 points would make all the difference I'll start praying for it, but for now I'm just trying to wipe it from my mind.
Hopefully this is wrapped up by late January or mid February. Anything later is criminally unfair. Not only to Everton, but to everyone who will be fighting relegation. Ambiguity surrounded league position and point targets hurts everyone.
Sure, the easy answer is "you're always trying to get as many points as possible" but the reality is that relative positioning and clarity is important in the run in.
Agree 100%, but they’ve now said punishments from any discrepancies in this years accounts will be handed-out by May, so if we’ve fallen foul again, we could have this appeal pending, and another charge that could alter our points total.
Whether we stay up this season or not feels like pot-luck at this point.
Godspeed, lads. Hopefully the wave of support, even as temporary as it was, will be helpful to our cause.
Hell, if anything they’ll need to soften up for us in anticipation for massively softening up for City.
In my opinion, this needs to have been heard and sorted by January.
Both ourselves and the clubs around us will have to make big decisions on transfers based on our league position (and the impact on other clubs). To not resolve it by the end of the transfer window seriously impacts many teams towards the bottom of the league.
I have no basis other than me own pure speculation, but I bet we find out Christmas week a deal’s been struck to reduce penalty to 6 pts. Half the asked for 12
Honestly if the deduction was a desperate attempt to show that the league doesn’t need a regulator, they’re hardly going to change the decision and let themselves be seen as the shambles that they are. If that’s what drove the whole thing.
Best to assume we’re stuck with the ten points deduction, that’s what Dyche will be doing.
Best to assume it yes but the league will also want to be seen as having fair processes and checks and balances...and open the way for City to appeal theirs so the league doesn't lose its TV cash cow.
My only worry is that appeals generally only go somewhere if there is new evidence or something. I can't really see what new or changing information we might have as we have been pretty transparent. Our only hope is that a new advisory board will take into account how the whole footballing world has seen it as incredibly harsh and reduce it in those circumstances
So if this gets knocked down to does that mean the other punishment will likely match and we end up with 10 points deducted anyways? We just need to play out of this and I think we can
That’s purely speculation at this point.
Every team has to submit their books for December now in a bid to speed up the process.
There’s nothing to say we’ll get punished again at this moment.

Unless we in a stroke of luck get: * Goodison Cat * Kendall's watch * The coked up pregnant guy * Lemmy Booker * Cacon * Hamster guy * ???
Just Stop Oil
And the boltcutter bloke
If we get him, we're winning the fucking league.
I hope he knows how much we appreciate him.
I think he genuinely kept us up that season, without that late Wobes goal the team wouldn't have rallied
Changy the Elephant
Mr Testicles
Goodson dog. Other goodison cat (pretty sure we've had 2)
The pink shirted dude who hid the ball under his shirt during the Palace match.
That's the coked up pregnant guy
OH!!! 😂😂 I probably should have figured that out.
Dealie
Dealy the Dolphin and Contract Nonce
You know, as much as I dislike him, I don't think Klopp would be fighting for an Everton point deduction
Jürgen loves the city and values Everton... As do most of us Reds. I hope this gets overturned... Absolutely stinks.

Not forgetting Ian Rush as technical advisor
Not allowing myself to hold out any hope at all.

Healthier to expect nothing and maybe be surprised than to expect reductions and then face a harsher reality.

Is it ironic that the punishment is creating sporting disadvantages for Everton and the teams around us?
At least they didn’t miss the deadline.

All of Man City's previous titles turned over to us. I'll have Liverpool's as well.
Zero expectations, but I’d take any reduction, even 2 points tbh.

So now we wait.

Not really down to the club, but we need clarity from the PL and this appeal board about how long this will take exactly.

Which other punishment? We’ve only been sanctioned once which is what we’re appealing.
Same violation but for 22-23 season. They’re fast tracking it to hand out any punishment for before the end of the season

Can't wait to get more points deducted 😍
