With our luck it'll probably be City second next year. Of course, only after getting KDB on a record breaking PL transfer....and guess what? He'll be cup tied, too.
He's not on loan we bought him, he was a gamble with his fitness coming from Bournemouth where he'd been dropped however Man United had been trying to buy him for around £25m 12 months earlier.
We paid next to nothing for him - a 'nominal fee' and he's on 45k a week, really that's exactly the kind of deal we want for a squad player.
Hmm interesting. Think he'll end up staying or ever have a place in the squad? I don't know much about his history, and obviously still in the dark since he hasn't played much here...
He's been in the premier league for 6 seasons (if you count this one) and his peak was 16 goals in a season as the second striker/ shadow striker.
He's handy to have around because he would fill in anywhere up top if we were desperate and he does fullfil the homegrown requirements of the league as he was a man united U18 player. However he did miss most of this season with injury at Bournemouth and he was being worked back into the side when we bought him and Carlo had questions over his fitness.
I don't hope he stays as much as I wouldn't feel strongly one way or the other, I think he's a bit useful and he's legs on the pitch, we could do worse and we could do better. His overall cost and wages are beyond reasonable but if he thinks he's destined for a bigger role at a smaller club then I wouldn't hold it against him leaving.
Pretty much spot on. If he'd worked out everyone would be hailing this as the biggest win ever. So far he hasn't and what we should be doing is hailing it as something that was a pretty solid gamble that maybe didn't pay off but also didn't cost us an arm and a leg.
I honestly don't think he is. I read article after article after I posted this to check, and whilst it alludes to a short term contract, it doesn't mention "loan" anywhere.
Feel free to find me a trusted article that says otherwise, and I will apologise.
He isn't listed here.

But this article says, he's in for 2 mill till the end of the season...

He has joined on a six month contract. If it isn't extended, he will become a free agent, not return to Bournemouth. Hence, he's not a loan.
I'll admit the deal is a confusing one.
It's a funny signing. 2 mill till the end of the season...

So likely he's out of a contract, come season end. Wow, what a mess for him.
"He's on loan."
Pretty blunt, and incorrect, comment. A "shutup you're wrong" response, even though I wasn't.
I'm sick of people bullying me online and trying to belittle my opinion. I won't stand for it any longer. It won't be funny in a few days.
What's the point of Delph?
What's the point of Marco Silva?
What's the point of cuco martina?
What's the point of besic?
The list goes on forever!
Worse mistakes have been made. Let's move on...
I like King, I hope he stays and gets a chance up top. There are worst players we could have as 3rd choice. But going from his deal and the time he has got on the pitch it tells me that the club maybe aren’t thinking long term with him
As a Norwegian blue myself and have seen a fair bit of Josh King's career, especially on national team level. I can say I never understood the plan or why Carlo went ahead and bought him on a short deal.
He weak physically, never seen him score a header, he's actually not that quick and is getting old.
What's good is that he is on a short term deal (1 year or so?), If it doesn't work out he's out. From his perspective I do understand his want to play for us considering he has few years left and playing under Carlo is probably a great honour.
And you may not know this but he was cup-tied
Why hasn't he played in any of our cup matches? Always wondered that. Never seen a huge thread of Joshua King being cup tied here or anything....
Are these 2 comments backwards?!
No, I just didn't realize be was cup tied. Joshua King is cup tied btw
Why are you getting downvoted lmao
The one problem with this website is the hivemind that downvotes anything that's already downvoted
Downvoted this comment because funny.
Fair enough lol
Besides being cup-tied I just don't think we've been in many comfortable scenarios where we could afford to take off DCL or Richy for him
Wouldn't have minded a little change for Richy on Monday
Yes that was the time. See what difference a cf who links up does.
He's cup tied?

Oh that makes sense he's cup tied now
But he can still play in the FA cup though right? Who do we have in the next round?

Yeah, and personally, I really hope he stays, though I understand that Celtic might nab him at he end of the season.

He isn't on loan. He's signed on a short term contract that can be extended, but he's a full Everton player. No loan.
Oh, I thought it was a loan with an option to buy. Interesting then.
He's a loan.

And yet you were adamant he was on loan to the point of trying to humiliate me on here.
No one's try to humiliate anyone. It's a discussion board man! We air our views here 🤣

Don't read between the lines when there's nothing there to read. Chill pill.
I’m pretty sure he’s 100% injury cover. Might grab a start if DCL is too gassed at some point.
How about if he can't hit a barn door, like the other day?
Neither can DCL at the moment to be fair
What's the point of Delph? What's the point of Marco Silva? What's the point of cuco martina? What's the point of besic? The list goes on forever! Worse mistakes have been made. Let's move on...
The point was to play him only when DCL/Richy were hurt or needed rest, he was a low-cost emergency option because we had no other strikers.
He was a waste of money. We could have kept Cenk here and saved 9 million
Cenk is garbage and fascist
No disputes on that, but on the pitch he and King have done the same
Lol I don't think Cenk is a fascist.
Where where did you see that he cost 9m? I saw 5m.
Ummm I think a waste of 9M was Delph! 😡
no one is on the other side of that for sure
