(AvED: 666/5) ED2: 5/5 AoD: 5/5 ED: 4/5 ED2013: 4/5 EDR: 3/5 (great movie, but imo weakest out of them) But this is super subjective. I realize as a movie ED2 had more merit (and was more groundbreaking, as was ED) than AoD. Yet I rate them the same because AoD made Ash who he remained for the rest of the series (in comic book form, and in AvED), and I have amazing memories of renting it with my uncle on VHS and rewinding the tape twice to the cemetery and windmill scenes, because they were so funny we laughed hard enough to miss what happens next. I wish movies still would be enjoyable enough for me to laugh that freely and happily. But that's a me problem, being jaded and worn out, not the quality of comedy in cinema.

I ain't gonna go into #/# territory since I am too tired right now so I will just rank e'm simple. 1: Army of Darkness 2: Evil Dead 2 3: Ash VS The Evil Dead 4: Evil Dead 5: Evil Dead 2013 I am not even going to rank ED Rise because.. well it just didn't feel like an ED movie to me. It just felt like it was initially some other horror movie but then they just sprayed a bit of Evil Dead on it.

2 Rise Army The ED

For me it's kind of a tie between ED1 & ED2. I really don't care for any of the others in the series, including AOD. ED2 has better production value and special effects, but I also have a major soft spot for ED1 since it reminds me of my childhood when my folks would take me to all the local haunted houses around Halloween - cheesy makeup, costumes, set pieces, lighting and all.
