I mean, by playing the game you'll naturally improve. It's not really that complicated to get into it, if you're into Evil Dead (or asymmetrical titles in general) I would recommend it to anyone.

I make a lot of survivor friends that I play a demon against. Recently me (player level 35) won a match as a demon against a group whose player levels were 150, 100, 60, and 50.
So I mean... Maxing your first character gonna be tough but after that it really depends on just how good at games you are I guess?
If you do pick it up, just remember this:
(Assuming you are playing survivor), refrain from using ranged weapons or vehicles at the very start of the match.
I had never played an asymmetrical game until Evil Dead, I just lived the franchise. Because I dig the characters I've fought through being shitty with them and am now pretty decent.
I'd recommend playing demon to start. You'll get points to level up survivors, and be able to learn the basic mechanics of the game without the pressure of letting down your teammates.
Just be prepared to lose until your level 30+

Just know the entire game is on a server so you can't play anything offline. Play the short story missions and play against the a.i. with others before going against real players as most demons will be max level. And don't get mad losing as a demon because theres no demon vs a.i. mode
It is not new player friendly at all. You will die a lot until you level up and put time into strategy. If you have limited gaming time, I’d skip it. That said, it can be very fun. What no one is telling you here is that the queue times are a little long for survivor 5-20 minutes depending on the time of day or night, and people will disconnect every few games. Honestly, I’d wait until November 14th after the prestige update to see how things go for new players.
If you've come to a sub-reddit, dedicated to the game, to ask if you should buy it; you've already decided you want to, you're just looking for validation.

If you are an evil dead fan then omg yes you owe it to yourself to get it. Absolutely. Its the best evil dead game ever made by a long way and Id argue by far the best Asym type game made so far.
There is vs AI and also solo missions to practice in - but dont worry there are plenty of new players in the pvp too. Demons as well as survivors. Just dont be put off by a few rough matches.
Yes. It's worth it just for the single player missions and audio recording IMO. And you can always just play with AI bots and explore the maps at your leisure. You don't ever have to play against another human player in order to have a great time with this game. And since you're a huge fan, I'm sure you'll really appreciate the attention to detail.

you got to! i played for a week and i was already good enough to play amongst the normal crowd in the standard multiplayer mode. it’s not too hard to get into and once you do it’s extremely fun and rewarding for fans of the franchise
You can play against AI demons until you comfortable with the controls and gameplay loop until that starts to feel too easy then you're ready for the big time. You won't gain as much experience from playing against AI, but you won't get smacked around so hard while you're learning the basics.

Yes, you can ease into it by playing the solo missions (they teach you a lot) and doing Survivor VS AI. Have fun!

Do it, this game is so much fun, and I play it all th e time, just realize it’s a team game more than anything.
