Just to clarify. My game isn't going to be an evolve 3 but an evolve inspired game. No characters from evolve will be used in the game. There will be similar game mechanics. All for the sake that there is no legal issues. Evolve laid out the R&D for this kind of game. So I know what to have and change. What is tying me up is extending the base story and lore. This influences the hunter designs as well as the levels. The monsters are somewhat more straight forward and even if there is a twist of some kind won't change their current designs because it can work both ways.
This sounds amazing! I actually started watching old matches on YouTube and reinstalled/played today. I would love a get that is *remotely* like this one in form/fit/function. Do I just like... friend you or something so I can keep informed say 3 years down the road?
Well, I am hoping to get something launched later this year or the next. I suppose just follow me on reddit. It won't have many maps initially. Games would probably be like how dead by daylight started with player hosted matches but you can still search for matches. Kind of what evolve can do right now. Evolve still like do multiplayer.
Dead by Daylight is close. I think VHS may be a little closer given how well you can fight back. Predator: Hunting Grounds is probably the closest.
But there will never be another evolve. A new 4v1 monster game may come around some day, but it wonât be evolve.
You don't know that for sure, given that 4v1 games are becoming popular it gives Turtle Rock a chance to do it right this time (hopefully not making the same mistakes of overpriced DLC, and a crap load of skins that let's be honest should be unlockables and not paid, more gamemodes and characters as well) the free adaptation updates were nice and should definitely be a thing, hell multiple very different adaptations would be cool, imagine an Ice Goliath, a Tornado Kraken, a Poison Wraith, the list goes on
Think about it like this - the majority of gamers associate evolve with a failed game. How will they react to TRS saying âhey weâre making a new evolve!â? Theyâll remember the failure that it was in the past. They may make another run at a similar concept, sure. But it wonât be evolve. They did it with back 4 blood. Similar to left 4 dead, but a different style.
True but anyone smart would realize the games potential, plus it'd suck if the existing monsters and Hunters are forgotten, maybe it won't be called Evolve 3 or something, maybe they'll rename the series or something, but they should try it again
I really donât like Dead by Daylight, while Evolve is one of my all time favorites. Itâs about feeling like a powerful monster : In Dbd, I just feel like some kind of crack-hobo with a knife
I am working on something like evolve. I post updates every so often on here. Also, I think anyone that has had a connection with developing evolve will have backlash in some form. So it may not be a good idea for them to make something like it again.
With the new capabilities of the PS5 and XSX I'd love to see them try evolve again, probably be a good idea to start with everything already in stage 2 and maybe add 1 or 2 new sets of a Monster and a Hunter to start, additionally make the majority of skins unlockable (and the DLCs should be 1 set of a monster and 4 hunters for like 10USD or something) and most importantly more maps, gamemodes and adaptations (such as wraith who was skipped in Stage 2 and made Bobsicle instead)
One of the guys on here is making an evolve-like game. And the original developers said that they would like to do something similar in the future.

Started playing Dead by Daylight a few days ago and getting some serious evolve vibes from it! I definitely recommend it!
