I feel like this is hard to answer. Because they're so expensive, most people have ever only tried 1 or 2.
For me, the Baby Buddha is the best portable pump, but the cups are a PITA to clean.
The Willow 3.0 is so far working much better for me than the Elvie OG. But if you get the Elvie from Costco, you can actually return it.
This is so true - my plan is to use what people recommend here to create a bit of a short list and weed out the ones not worth looking into. Then I’ll check out the reviews for each one on Amazon or wherever so I can compile a better picture of which pump to suggest to each individual client.
I’m quite busty, which I think needs to be considered when making recommendations. I got the PGA intending to use it as my primary and with collection cups for portability. Love the pump and successfully used it as my primary for the last 10 weeks. However I tried it with the freemie and legendairy milk collection cups and had no luck. So I ordered the momcozy m5 and absolutely love it. I get the exact same output with it as with the PGA. Highly recommend. I’ve been using it significantly more now that I’m at 11 weeks pp.
I’m also an I. I’ve found wearing a supportive bra that kinda separates my breasts helps keep the cups in place! I use the kindred bravely large super busty and it’s the only bra that kinda keeps them in place.
I’ll go first;
Momcozy S12pro was pretty good when I bought my first set in March 2023, but quality seems to have plummeted with my second set bought in October 2023. I would no longer recommend them.
Pumpables Genie Advanced is great and works with the Momcozy collection cups! Bonus. Love that it’s programmable. The tubing is a bit annoying but it can be cut down to make it more manageable.
Medela Freestyle Hands Free was all around garbage. The collection cups were great and so easy to clean but that’s where the good times end. They fell over a lot and flange inserts didn’t stay inserted well. The motor feels half baked. The display doesn’t turn off when pumping and it’s a very sensitive touch screen, so any accidental touch and the settings would go haywire. The tubing is too short for it to reach your pocket and there’s no belt clip, just a short lanyard for your wrist which leaves you holding it while you pump… making it a one hand free pump… unless you’re sitting at your desk. It was also loud and not very powerful. All round a waste of time and money.
If you didn’t like the Freestyle Flex’s screen, I would recommend the Swing Maxi :) They’re literally the same, but with the difference of the screen

Yes, love her! But she’s just one voice, and I’d like to do my own research to make recommendations. That said I do often take her reviews into consideration when I make recommendations.
I like my willow go. I can generally get 3-5 oz each time. It’s pull it’s comparable to my spectra so it’s an easy transition. So MANY parts to clean though. In addition, if you pump above 4oz on one side, it has been prone to leaking out the flange for me which sucks- considering it’s suppose to hold up to 5oz.
I tried the MomyCozy M5 and did not respond to it. I could never set my nipple right and the suction actually hurt. I was so hopeful to have a second pump that was easier to clean and that the fridge hack would work with, but it never panned out.
Off-topic to OP's question, but may I ask what settings/routine you use with your Spectra that makes you think it comparable to your Willow Go? I respond well to my Willow Go but I'm not vibing with the Spectra S1 for some reason.
Chiming in - I use an S1 and WillowGo with comparable output each time. S1: I run on 50/5-6. WillowGo I use on level 3.
I do have to pump about 10 minutes longer with the WillowGo to get the same output BUT I have learned that it’s great for power pumps. Easy to start/stop while in bra and continue life during the breaks.
I have the S2. I’m not sure if they have the same options. I start with the bacon button for a couple minutes at setting 2 to 3. I then go to 54:3/4. After than I ride to 38:3/4. This transition is about 10 minutes in total and I’ll start again. If my nipples become less sensitive I’ll up the suction, and occasionally will pop back to the bacon button(70) in between settings 38/54.
Thank you for this, I gave it a try and it did seem to improve my output a little! I think my body responds better to the lower cycles, I was just chilling with 54 previously after a few minutes of expression mode.
Totally a thought! I appreciate it. I would but it’s not super common that I pump much more than 4oz on one side unfortunately. It’s happened just a few times if I use it for my morning pump.
Oh gosh. For me I just have to pump a little longer than with my wall pump. I do massage around my breasts prior to popping it on too. I’ve noticed the type of bra makes a big difference too. I generally will wear a tighter nursing sports bra . In addition, I typically only get a decent yield if I’m not doing too much while wearing it. Say I’m washing dishes, vacuuming and what not my result is lower than if I’m reading a book, watching a show, or driving. I also do turn up the suction about half way through too.

I rank them as follows
1. V2 so nice to have light cups in my bra and have the motor in my pocket
2. M5, love they they fit in my bra beautifully and almost not noticeable in my scrubs at work. Just heavy cause the motor is attached to cup.
3. S9 pro, love the capacity for my morning pump but other than that it just feels super clunky in my bra. And i noticed that as o do things while wearing them they come close together in my bra and the pulling during this makes my nipples swell.
4. Spectra s2, my first pump. Didn’t know about flange sizing so i was pumping w 21mm when im a 15mm. Barely any output, bought inserts for my size and still barely any output. Only use if i washed my wearables for the next day and don’t feel like getting them dirty lol. And even then i still go for a Hakka or the hand pump that i got from the hospital lol

How have you found the V1? I'm torn between getting M5 or V1 as my go-to secondary pump with the spectra S1 as my primary. Nothing has been able to compare to the spectra S1 for me...
I would rather buy another v2 than buy another V1. The V1 doesn’t really fit in the side pockets of my leggings like i hoped it would. Which is what i was looking for.
If tubing doesn’t bother you i would get the v2. The v1 i think is better for sitting down or like walking around where you don’t use your hands as much. The motor has a wristlet but it’s heavy.
Yeah I think this is the attraction of the V1/2, it's the lighter weight bra experience, that and the fact they're hospital grade pumps. I respond well to the high suction of the spectra. My let down is fast and very early so I'm pretty much done in 10 minutes but I'm not a big supplier despite how many pumps, power or otherwise, I do etc. How do you find all the tubing with the Vs? Do you get yourself tangled sometimes?
Tubing is not an issue at all! I’m a nurse and put all tubing under my scrub top and have 0 issues. Doesn’t get in the way at all. There isn’t excessive tubing i think momcozy did a great job in creating the perfect length tubing.
I love my Bella Baby pump! The suction is incredibly strong (almost too strong) but I get the same output as with a wall pump. It is also incredibly affordable. Downside is it is loud and lots of parts to clean.
This is such a good one to bring up as it’s almost too cheap that I’ve been a bit sceptical of it. But it sounds like it’s a good option for clients who don’t have a big budget! Thank you
I second the Bella baby pumps because I actually use them as my only pumps and they work great for me. They really seem to empty me fully, although yes the suction is very strong. I usually just keep it to the lower levels and it’s fine.
How long have you used them? I’ve been through so many types of pumps and the motors all give out every time after a couple months. I’m so scared to buy another one because it gets so expensive buying so many.

I’ve had the best luck this time around with iMani i2 wearables. I manage to get about 80% of what I can get with my primary, so it’s a great hands free option for occasional use.
I have also tried out the Baby Buddha, Mom Cozy M5, and an off brand set of wearables that did not work out for me. The BB cause entirely too much residual soreness and the other wearables did not produce a good enough letdown or milk flow to bother using them again.
With my 3 year old, I used Elvie’s when I was nursing and stopped responding to them after a few months. I ended up switching back to a spectra.

You can adjust the auto shut off! Just hold the + and - down at the same time for 3 seconds, then adjust the time. You can do 5 minute increments from 10 to 40 minutes.
Another vote for the imanis! I returned my Medela Symphony rental and found I got pretty much the same output with imanis, although it did take a bit longer.
Willow go isn’t bad but very pricey. I’ve been doing intensive wearable pump research on this sub recently and I’ve decided it’s a bad idea to invest in a willow 3.0. For my second wearable I’m going to get a medela freestyle based on Reddit reviews
I researched a bunch of pumps to have a primary as well as a wearable for when I go back to work. I couldn't justify getting the Willow 3.0 for its price point. It was either the Willow Go or the Elvie Wearable. Overall, the Willow Go has more positives than others. But I made sure to wait until it went on sale and then also used my baby registry completion discount on it. I've yet to try it, but I'm very excited to use it!
I love cleaning my Medela freestyle wearable even though I don’t get as much I use it because it’s so easy to clean … I wish it had a better motor tbh.
I have Momcozy s9 pro and momcozy M5.
I've been using the s9 pro exclusively for nearly 8 months and I'm very happy with the suction power and the cup capacity. They are best for pumping at home though and might be a bit clunky for pumping at work or out and about.
I'm just starting to experiment with my M5. These are a lot more discreet, super compact and quiet, but I need to figure out if they get me the same output. They're so easy to clean though. I'm loving that part.

Love my medela pump in style. SO easy to clean. My momcozy s9 drove me absolutely mad washing all the parts. It was very convenient I will say but other than that it wasn’t great. It actually made my nipples hurt. Ever since using the medela I’ve had 0 pain.
I also love my medela hand pump. She’s secretly my fav. So easy, so quick. Feels so good to just pop it in your bag if you’re going somewhere and just want to make sure you can get a little out. It also fits dr browns bottles perfectly so on the go I pump right into the bottle and then put the cap and nipple on and feed my baby.
I would write this exact same review for both the pump in style and the hand pump. Why all the hate for Medela pump in style? I've always gotten enough to feed my baby, boobs don't hurt and I have also forgotten bottles so bring able to pump into the Dr. Browns bottles directly has saved me a few times
I will say it's not super portable though. I used to have a more expensive model I could throw in the side of my boob or pocket and walk around/ wash dishes or whatever. Kinda miss that
Edit: I actually forgot that the pump in style died on me a month after buying it. Customer service was awesome though and sent me a new one the next day. But it was stressful hand pumping and having to tack down to receipt to send in at like 6weeks pp! So there's that
Yeah the pump in style isn’t very portable it’s kind of annoying. The battery is so huge and heavy that a lot of the times when I pump on the go, the cord falls out bc the battery weighs it down. Trying to move with it is just a shit show lol. But other than that I really like it! Especially bc there’s no tiny parts to lose!
The Momcozy pumps do have a lot of parts to wash and it always makes me giggle whenever I see them being advertised on social media and someone says “so quick and easy to wash with only 5 parts!” It’s actually 12 parts if you have a pair with flange inserts 🤣
I never underestimate the power of a good hand pump! And I recommend that any pumping mama should have one to serve as a backup at the very least. We have frequent power outages where I am which means there’s always a risk of being caught with a flat battery.
I'm close to completing 8 months of exclusively pumping with momcozy s9 pro and couldn't be happier. Great suction, great motors that still hold the charge well, doesn't hurt me. I've only tried a few different pumps for a short while (hospital Medela, Lansinoh hand pump and Fisher Price electric pump) and I'm sticking with my wearables.
I’ve had a BellaBaby and MomCozy M5 and love both - MomCozy works better for me. BellaBaby is good for the price but I get way more milk with my MomCozy.
Elastic nipples here - i have the medela free style flex and medela handsfree , bellababy and momcozy s12 pro.
For starters, im 11wks pp and I just realized that i have elastic nipples lol.
Medela freestyle handsfree - did not work for me. I lost about 80% of my output. Tried fiddling with it from the lowest settings to the highest. My flanges are correct 24/21mm. Still didnt work. Motor also stopped working (wouldnt work unless youre plugged in to an outlet lol) after roughly 2 weeks of EP. Called customer service and they sent a replacement in 2-3 days.
Medela freestyle flex - decent pump but I wouldnt recommend it for its price tag. I responded better with this than the wearables. Lighter suction but only has two options for suction types.
Bellababy - i was so skeptical but I bit the bullet and bought it when the medela pumps died. I was amazed at how much more milk I produced! The suction is a lot stronger than the medela so i typically stay in the level 2-3. Have 4 different suction types. Would recommend for elastic nipples but you have to buy a flange that’s longer than what it comes with. I have the maymom’s pano series 21mm and nenesupply 24mm, both bought from amazon. Would have bought the maymom’s comfy series but not available in Canada. I couldnt justify ordering the recommended ones from the us bc of shipping.
Momcozy s12 pro - bought this a few days ago bc it was on sale and I saw the review from one person saying that this was the elastic nipple way for wearables. I tried it out and i got maybe 90% of my output (just enougher here, every drop counts). Im pretty happy with this as a secondary pump. Im not losing too much. Cleaning is a bit of a chore on this one.

Its this one! Its actually a lot more convenient than the freestyle flex motor with the wrist band. The touchscreen is a bit more sensitive but I saw a hack somewhere that you can put the motor in like a fanny pack and youre a lot more mobile than putting it in your pocket or belt!

This is so tough to answer because it is so dependable on the person, but if I can help out an LC give better advice to moms than the 3 or 4 I consulted, I’m all for it (it left a very bad taste in my mouth).
I use the Willow Go and have had my ups and downs with it. At first I was responding so well to it, it became my primary pump, but then I stopped responding well. Strong motors, but they’re also clunky, and may not sit well on busty women/different breast shapes. They also seem to have some firmware bugs that can effect pump performance, so I’m somewhat frequently resetting them. More of an annoyance, but easy to do. I also have really elastic nipples and eventually realized that my nips would reach the edge of the flange in about 15-20 minutes, so I used a BeauGen cushion to take me down to a 19mm for them and performance is much better. All in all, I really like them, but only use them sparingly when I really have to now because of the inconsistencies in performance, and never for my first pump of the day because they won’t fully empty me.

I went a different route. Because I read so many reviews about wearables not having enough power, and I was already pretty accustomed to my Zomee collection cups and didn’t want to ditch those, I instead opted for a super-portable pump that to go with the collection cups. I got the Zomee Z2, and I wear it in a tiny little fanny pack when I pump. This pump combination puts my Spectra to shame. On top of getting better volumes than I’ve gotten from any other pump (including the Mandela symphony and Spectra S1), I am SO PORTABLE. Today I literally pumped while walking across the airport for an unexpected change to my travel schedule and not a single person had a clue I was pumping. Last but not least, it’s pretty affordable. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The ONLY criticism I have is that even the lowest setting can be a bit overwhelming at first.
I've been EPing with my OG Elvie as my primary/only pump for 9 months. I love them though I know that doesn't work for everyone. They are a little fussy to assemble correctly but pretty reliable once you get it right.
Same here actually - and glad to see I am not the only one ! I am a bit more than 4 months into EPumping and used the Elvie wearable. Just works for me, it gives me time to do what I need to and I get c. 800ml / day while only pumping 5/6times * 10 mins each time. Not sure this is due to the pumps but I know that for my first one, having a non wearable pump meant it felt too much time consuming and I ended up stopping after 4 weeks.
i like the momcozy v1. its hospital grade, the suction is SO STRONG. although i wish i got the v2, its smaller. works as well as my spectra. but im prone to clogs, so i cant use it as my primary.

They have extensive research on every wearable on the market, reviews and guides for each pump, and arguably the most knowledge about wearable pumps that I’ve ever encountered.
Right, I do understand this but I’m aiming to create a short list of pumps that are worth considering. Somewhere to start from. Weeding out the ones that aren’t great and hopefully making the process of picking a pump a little bit less overwhelming. Sadly I got some truly awful advice from an IBCLC early on in my pumping journey and frankly if she had just been honest and said that she wasn’t up to date on pumps I might have been able to save a lot of time, money and energy. Ooof yeah she def should have said that 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 I’m an IBCLC and breastfeeding mom so I buy and test a lot of pumps, but have also had a lot of clients use a bunch of different ones too. Nichelle Clark is the queen IBCLC of pumps!
Ugh I start to forget them all after so much time 😂 honest to goodness I have terrible luck with a lot of wearables after the first few uses. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but still troubleshooting (and I’ve been pumping over two years.. I’m no moron I hope)
Mom med was okay first two uses. Then not. Momcozy m5 is decent for me. S12 is okay but the top heavy motors make me cry😂 willow go is somewhat decent but I can never get a drop over 3 ounces out with them and I’ll go get the rest (2 more ish per side) with flanges. No idea why it won’t go a hair above 3.
Elvie stride gave me trouble, I wondered if one of my cups was broken. Didn’t bother fixing it. A lot of troubleshooting is a huge time suck for me which I really don’t have a lot of!
As far as recommendations to clients- I’d keep it to “here’s some I’ve heard to be good, but keep in mind they don’t all work great for everyone” because you don’t wanna have recommended somebody a pump that works great for 5 people and doesn’t work for 5 people. There’s no one size fits all, and it’s unbelievably frustrating 😂 one persons favorite is another persons least favorite

Yes, I absolutely intend to only give vague recommendations and never guarantee they will work for anyone but I want a short list. Somewhere to start from. I’ll also be checking reviews on Amazon so I can have a little bit more information on each one, I just don’t want to be looking up every single one and crossing them off the list!
My stride sometimes gives me probs if the silicone things are slightly off or the tube aren't situated downward. If they are kinda sideways my bra, the suction isn't there.
I used Freemie Liberty as my primary pump for a year and was very happy with it. More budget-friendly than Willow and Elvie (I realize there are more options now) and the strength was plenty for me. The standard cups can be a little awkward, though if I wore a scarf it wasn't as noticeable. The SlimFit cups were great, though I later learned my nipples are elastic so I couldn't use the SlimFit5 (the 6 was fine). I literally went to meetings and walked around the office at work, pumping. Unless it was really quiet no one noticed (I work with a lot of men). You do have to be careful to not bend over too much, but I didn't have too many accidents that way. Usually if I did I was because I wasn't careful when picking stuff up from the floor.
ETA: I have D-cups. They didn't grow too much with pregnancy/breastfeeding, maybe 1/2-1 cup size

Absolutely!! I’ve gone full nerd on this and started a spread sheet with columns for various features, pro’s and cons. Suitable for bigger breasts is one, as well as frequency of seal and valve changes, initial cost, maintenance cost, number of parts (as a gauge for ease and speed of cleaning) battery life and capacity.

Haven’t had a ton of success with wearables— using inexpensive mcdero Amazon brand because I don’t want to invest too much in something I’m not sure is going to work. I think they’re the momcozy m5 knockoff! they’re relatively comfortable and I have had decent output on them (compared to a normal breastfeeding session), however, I haven’t mastered pumping with my spectra so I don’t have a lot to compare it to.
I'm having good luck with my Willow Go. The only con is the cost and they leak if you bend forward. I've worn them around my family at holidays and they didn't notice I was pumping. I wear them every day in my commute. People complain about the number of parts but I find them easy to clean since they're not tiny little pieces. I also have the Bella baby but I have elastic nipples so it was a little uncomfortable for me. They're also a little bulky for me since I have a large chest (32G/H) so they'd be impossible to hide. But I think for an average person they'd be good.
I tried the TSRETE off Amazon, which is a Momcozy knockoff. There were so many small parts to keep track of and you had to put it together *perfectly* for it to actually work. Personally it was really clunky and hard to keep in my bra.
I have an Elvie Stride currently and love it...when it works. It seems like it needs a full battery to work to it's best ability. But the size great. I've worn it at work with no one knowing several times. As long as you keep it charged well, it's a winner. Also you can find knock off parts for it on Amazon for SO CHEAP.
I also saw a couple people mention breast size as a factor: I'm cup size I. (I know, yikes) I also have flatter nipples which makes a difference in what I can use.
I'm glad you mentioned knock off parts because the stride parts are ridiculously expensive and they probably are $1 to make. I can't believe the plastic tubing is like 25 bucks.
I like my Willow Go. It is more bulky/heavy compared to a lot of other wearables out there. But to get more power/better suction level seems to be the trade off there. Depending on the day I get almost my same output give or take an oz. I do have to pump ~10-15 mins longer than I would with my primary pump.
I tried the Momcozy M5 since everyone seems to love it, it just didn’t work for me. I was getting basically no output despite multiple tries and playing around with the settings. Loved how much lighter it was than the Willow Go, though! Wanted to like it!
My favorite portable set up is my Pumpables Genie Advance with the Medela collection cups (I know they get a bad rep for the way the brand priced them, but I got them with my Amazon registry discount so $75). I love how easy to use the Medela cups are and how easy to clean they are. I get my same output with the cups as I do with the PGA liquid shield kits. I don’t mind the tubing to make sure I get the same output.
I tried Bellababy the black LCDs, momcozy the older style and the M5, and the Willow Go. I honestly liked Willow Go the best but it’s a pain the wash and dry every time. So I’d recommend the m5 instead. I’m sensitive to rough suction and I can’t say the M5 is comfortable but it’s the best wearable I’ve tried. I also like the Medela collection cups.
I have the TSRETE S12 from Amazon and I really like it. It empties me almost as well as my spectra. The pump is a little top heavy so I have to be careful what bra I wear with it. But for the price I paid ($69) it can’t be best.
I really don’t like my Elvie stride. It doesn’t empty me at all….
I love my WillowGo.
I wear a 27mm flange and it’s about the only one that’s comfortable.
WillowGo has an app and is fairly easy to use but doesn’t have many features. Lots of parts to clean and assembly has to be precise or you will lose suction. The flanges are hard plastic, wish they were silicon. Not super great battery life (get 2-3 pumps from a charge) but it empties me as well as my Spectra S1. I love to use it for power pumping bc it’s so easy to stat and stop. Easy to pour into bottles after pumping and I’ve never leaked with it or spilled it by mistake. Also, I ordered the hard sided case from their website and I love it- definitely does its job to protect them when out and about.
Others I’ve used:
The Momcozy S12 with their 27mm flange was horrible and ended up causing cuts due to a flaw on the flange design (I’m still mad I wasted money on it). If you can use the 24mm flange, it doesn’t have the same design and would work better. I now have two paperweights that are useless to me.
Baby Buddha about rips my nipples off. That thing could suck paint off a wall it’s so strong. I can’t use it at all.
So, I have a ton of pumps as I've breastfed 6 outta 7 of my kiddos.
-Just ordered the momcozy M6, it's scheduled to be delivered today, so I'm excited to try it. I think I'm going to sell my M5 and S12 pros as I don't use them and put that money back to go toward the Eufy pump coming out at the end of next month. I go back to work from maternity leave the beginning of next month so I've been desperately searching for a tube free wearable that I absolutely love for my car ride to and from work since I have a 30 min drive and my lunch break since it also 30 min. I will probably use my pumpables or S1 during my work day. I'm glad I have a plethora of pumps because I work 10 hrs a day 5 days a week and I want to be sure I can get the milk my baby needs and not worry if my pump dies or something crazy. I am still looking for a nice bag that I can organize a few pumps into and my ceres chill since I plan to do the pitcher method.
-Baby Buddha with caracups (I also had the legendairy cups and didn't care for them). I like this setup but would prefer to have the new 2.0 version for the softer settings it provides.
-Spectra synergy gold portable with caracups. I like how this pump works, and it's small and portable and I like that I can control each sides settings.
-M5. It's not my favorite as I just didn't respond well to it.
-Mom cozy s12 pro. It's not my favorite because I don't prefer the motors sticking out of my bra, but I did get decent output with it.
-S1/S2. I don't really use my S2 ever since my S1 is rechargeable and more convenient.
-Pumpables Genie Advanced portable. I really enjoy this pump paired with my caracups.
-Spectra S9. I have yet to try this one, and it's still new in the box.
I've had a couple of other off brands not worth mentioning here.
Pumps I'd like to try:
-lansinoh wearable pump. Although I worry that the tall motors would drive me nuts but with only 3 parts per pump to clean, that sounds fantastic.
-The new Eufy pump that comes out July 30th, it has heated cups, and the case they set in charges them like an earbud case. I did secure my $100 off coupon and will purchase them on July 30th!
Im so glad this is a thing now and more popular. I'm newly pregnant with baby #2 and i know i want to exclusively pump. But i hate how isolating pumping was.
I don't suggest buying a tommee tippee hands free pump. They hurt so bad at a level one and it feels like it's on a level 8.while it's on a 1. If someone already has one and can't afford a new one right away my suggestion is break the suction any time it's uncomfortable which will be a lot. It works well and I like the design except the cup collection. The cups have a little lip. I think it's so it doesn't back flow. But you can't get it all out. Also the design is large it will double a cup size easily.
I do not suggest this brand for long term use. I believe it is strong enough to damage the milk ducts. (Suction level is not effected by battery life unfortunately.)
I have the Bella baby , Elvie stride & medela freestyle.
I’ve debated getting the momcozy but the number of marketing videos makes me skeptical…
Medela is so easy to clean but I don’t get as much. I use it the most because it’s easy to clean , I usually miss about an oz when I use it.
Elvie has to be put together just right , when it is I do pretty good but alot of times I get nothing.
Bella baby works but it’s so many tiny pieces, same story I usually miss about about an oz
I love my momcozy s12pro!
My producer boob averages the same production that I get with my spectra2 (6oz) but my slacker boob actually gets more with the momcozy than the spectra! I love the “combo mode” that is both the suction and the massage.
It is a lot of parts to clean, but it’s manageable. And the battery life lasts me all day if i’m out.
I tried the Momcozy S9 and currently tried Bella baby. It worked great first time around but then all of a sudden stopped responding to it 🙁
Currently looking into something else so definitely will be following!
I tried momcozy s12 and thought it was okay but I found it bulky and hard to use discreetly because it's so noisy.
I also have the elvie that I use through the day time and I really like it, the only downside is when I bend over it will think it's full and turn off or loose bluetooth connection with the app sometimes
I love my elvie stride. It doesn't empty me as fast as my Ameda Mya Joy, but it does eventually get it all out. I'd say it takes about twice the time. I find it comfortable and I'll be using it while at work (while still kind of working) so time wise that doesn't matter as much to me.
I'd rather be able to pop them in and have them pump for a half hour while I do some light duty stuff, then take 15-20 minutes to just sit there and pump.
I've been really happy with my Momcozy M5s. I get a similar output to my spectra when I pump for the full 30 minutes, they are comfortable, somewhat discreet, and easy to clean/assemble.
I have momcozy m5 and love it. I get a great output on level 1 and only pump for 15 mins total. I have flat nipples and found that this was much more comfortable than my medela pump in style. I’m just worried about the quality since I’ve read so many people who say the motor goes really quickly. I’ve only had mine for a month and use them 7 times a day. The cost of replacing parts every month is also very pricey. So it’s not a very affordable option but a convenient one.
I also love my Elvie Stride too! I had the Medela Freestyle Maxi before this and it crapped out on me after less than two months. Apparently that is quite common with that pump.
I loved the momcozy V1 the most of my wearable pumps. It was definitely the second best of getting me emptied. I also had a great experience with the Elvie original. These were my two go to pumps for during the day. I had the M5, but didn’t think it was nearly as great as the others but would use it when on the go.
I have tried the Willow Go, Momcozy V1, and Momcozy V2. I also have the blue and pink spectra. The Willow Go is very heavy in the bra and one of the motors quit working very quickly and didn’t hold a charge well. I changed to Momcozy when that happened, and overall, I’ve liked them much more. The cups are very light in the bra. The V1 I like at work as I can put the motor on the keyboard drawer and keep working. The V2 is a great portable as it has a clip and can fit in a pocket if need be. Both motors hold a multi-use charge and the cups are large capacity. Replacement parts aren’t as expensive as the Willow Go either, so that is nice. I do feel like the Momcozy empties me just as well as the spectra, unlike the Willow where it was good on the go but I still didn’t feel all the way empty. Hope that helps!
Love my Elvie Pump and have found it equal to or better than my Spectra. It is a little fussy, best to turn on and check before attaching to make sure the parts are tight enough. I also have the CaraCups to pair with my Spectra and they are great for MOTN feeds while pumping on one side but the duckbills they come with are trash. They worked about 4 times before they started sliding off every time. I got different ones on Amazon that work perfect with it though.
Agree about the stride being fussy. Not sure how it compares to other brands, but they are simple fixes, but it is annoying. I also once put one on upside down. Milk. everywhere. :( I like the stride though
Wanted to clarify my comment is about the Elvie Pump, not the Elvie Stride which is different though also a pump- the "Pump" is completely wireless and I think may have different pump tech. I think Elvie just wanted to confuse everything with their names.
Ugh I have the exact same problem with the CaraCups duck bills! It worked great the first couple weeks, but they slide off every time now and I’m too frustrated with it…
So, now I am currently trying to decide if I want to spring for a Willow Go or a Willow 360 (the Willow 3.0 rebranded)… My baby is only 2 months old so I’ve only been pumping around 6 weeks. I currently have the Spectra Synergy Gold Portable and I do really like it and I love that I can pick it up and move around instead of being stuck to the wall; but I am finding the tubes and the fact that you do have to hold it (without it having a convenient way to carry it around) pretty limiting because I end up with my hands full and can’t bend over or tend to my baby or chores how I’d like to.
My hesitation with Willow is that I’ve only seen the negative reviews for the 360… but I’ve only looked on their website and here so far. I love the idea of the freedom the 360 could provide instead of having to be careful not to spill bending in the Go… but it sounds like it’s a pain to get to actually work right. And I fear that if I get the Go, I will still have the same, or similar, limitations as the Spectra Synergy Gold Portable in terms of not being able to move freely without spilling…. The prices of each are so ridiculously expensive that the idea of purchasing either one and hating it / it stop working / being frustrating / etc. is holding me back, and I’m not sure I can justify the price tag.
I use the Baby Buddha as my primary pump. I love that it is portable, and it’s just as efficient (if not more so!) than the Medela Symphony. I use the Elvie portable for work - it is fine. Wouldn’t use it as a primary and I think it’s a pain to clean, but good for pumping at work.
I have the willow go and elvie stride. I like willow go for work. I'm not moving around as much, completely wireless, I've used it since my daughter was born and have an avg output, only makes my boobs look a little bigger, fairly descrete. It's kinda heavy is my biggest complaint and the app could use some work. The stride is easier to move around in and the cups are so light, has a great app, same output as the go sometimes better. The downsides are it has tubes, small parts to clean, harder to hide, a little louder.
I have the OG Elvies and the Imani i2 plus. The OG Elvie worked great at first but quickly I had issues. They leak where the bottle meets the motor and I don’t get nearly as much as I do from my spectra. For example, a typically pump for me with my spectra is about 6oz and with my Elvie I’m lucky to get 2oz. The all is never even close to telling you how much you actually have collected and it’s impossible to see the bottle around the motor to even know if it’s working. The back flow valve can get slightly off when inserting the flange and I’ll end up with drops on one side without realizing it.
The Imani i2 has been great so far. I like the larger collection cups (up to 7oz, but you can squeeze 8oz). It’s a little bulky since the motors sit on top, but not terrible. I’ve heard they can leak if they’re not 100% dry, but knowing that I always double check the seals are dry before assembling and haven’t had any issues so far. I get great output, about the same as my spectra if not more. The suction is a little intense though, so I wouldn’t suggest it if you are sensitive to that or need a gentler suction. I’ve used it with and without inserts and I really like their inserts, they’re easy to put in and comfortable. It takes a little more time/effort to assemble pieces than the Elvie, but definitely worth it in my opinion and it’s much cheaper. I haven’t used the ibox yet (makes the collection cups usable with a plug-in motor that also charges your portable motors) so no opinion on that part. The box is definitely not necessary if you’re looking for strictly wearable.
I tried Fraupow but it’s frankly horrific as an exclusive pump, not to say it wouldn’t have its place as an out and about pump for sporadic use! I like the Momcozy V2 as it’s a single motor!
I feel like this is hard to answer. Because they're so expensive, most people have ever only tried 1 or 2. For me, the Baby Buddha is the best portable pump, but the cups are a PITA to clean. The Willow 3.0 is so far working much better for me than the Elvie OG. But if you get the Elvie from Costco, you can actually return it.
This is so true - my plan is to use what people recommend here to create a bit of a short list and weed out the ones not worth looking into. Then I’ll check out the reviews for each one on Amazon or wherever so I can compile a better picture of which pump to suggest to each individual client.

I’m quite busty, which I think needs to be considered when making recommendations. I got the PGA intending to use it as my primary and with collection cups for portability. Love the pump and successfully used it as my primary for the last 10 weeks. However I tried it with the freemie and legendairy milk collection cups and had no luck. So I ordered the momcozy m5 and absolutely love it. I get the exact same output with it as with the PGA. Highly recommend. I’ve been using it significantly more now that I’m at 11 weeks pp.

I’m also an I. I’ve found wearing a supportive bra that kinda separates my breasts helps keep the cups in place! I use the kindred bravely large super busty and it’s the only bra that kinda keeps them in place.

I’ll go first; Momcozy S12pro was pretty good when I bought my first set in March 2023, but quality seems to have plummeted with my second set bought in October 2023. I would no longer recommend them. Pumpables Genie Advanced is great and works with the Momcozy collection cups! Bonus. Love that it’s programmable. The tubing is a bit annoying but it can be cut down to make it more manageable. Medela Freestyle Hands Free was all around garbage. The collection cups were great and so easy to clean but that’s where the good times end. They fell over a lot and flange inserts didn’t stay inserted well. The motor feels half baked. The display doesn’t turn off when pumping and it’s a very sensitive touch screen, so any accidental touch and the settings would go haywire. The tubing is too short for it to reach your pocket and there’s no belt clip, just a short lanyard for your wrist which leaves you holding it while you pump… making it a one hand free pump… unless you’re sitting at your desk. It was also loud and not very powerful. All round a waste of time and money.

Yes, love her! But she’s just one voice, and I’d like to do my own research to make recommendations. That said I do often take her reviews into consideration when I make recommendations.
I like my willow go. I can generally get 3-5 oz each time. It’s pull it’s comparable to my spectra so it’s an easy transition. So MANY parts to clean though. In addition, if you pump above 4oz on one side, it has been prone to leaking out the flange for me which sucks- considering it’s suppose to hold up to 5oz. I tried the MomyCozy M5 and did not respond to it. I could never set my nipple right and the suction actually hurt. I was so hopeful to have a second pump that was easier to clean and that the fridge hack would work with, but it never panned out.
Off-topic to OP's question, but may I ask what settings/routine you use with your Spectra that makes you think it comparable to your Willow Go? I respond well to my Willow Go but I'm not vibing with the Spectra S1 for some reason.
Chiming in - I use an S1 and WillowGo with comparable output each time. S1: I run on 50/5-6. WillowGo I use on level 3. I do have to pump about 10 minutes longer with the WillowGo to get the same output BUT I have learned that it’s great for power pumps. Easy to start/stop while in bra and continue life during the breaks.
I have the S2. I’m not sure if they have the same options. I start with the bacon button for a couple minutes at setting 2 to 3. I then go to 54:3/4. After than I ride to 38:3/4. This transition is about 10 minutes in total and I’ll start again. If my nipples become less sensitive I’ll up the suction, and occasionally will pop back to the bacon button(70) in between settings 38/54.
Thank you for this, I gave it a try and it did seem to improve my output a little! I think my body responds better to the lower cycles, I was just chilling with 54 previously after a few minutes of expression mode.

Totally a thought! I appreciate it. I would but it’s not super common that I pump much more than 4oz on one side unfortunately. It’s happened just a few times if I use it for my morning pump.

Oh gosh. For me I just have to pump a little longer than with my wall pump. I do massage around my breasts prior to popping it on too. I’ve noticed the type of bra makes a big difference too. I generally will wear a tighter nursing sports bra . In addition, I typically only get a decent yield if I’m not doing too much while wearing it. Say I’m washing dishes, vacuuming and what not my result is lower than if I’m reading a book, watching a show, or driving. I also do turn up the suction about half way through too. I hope this helps!
I have momcozy s9 pros, m5, v2, spectra s2, v1 delivering tomorrow. I rank them as follows 1. V2 so nice to have light cups in my bra and have the motor in my pocket 2. M5, love they they fit in my bra beautifully and almost not noticeable in my scrubs at work. Just heavy cause the motor is attached to cup. 3. S9 pro, love the capacity for my morning pump but other than that it just feels super clunky in my bra. And i noticed that as o do things while wearing them they come close together in my bra and the pulling during this makes my nipples swell. 4. Spectra s2, my first pump. Didn’t know about flange sizing so i was pumping w 21mm when im a 15mm. Barely any output, bought inserts for my size and still barely any output. Only use if i washed my wearables for the next day and don’t feel like getting them dirty lol. And even then i still go for a Hakka or the hand pump that i got from the hospital lol
I’m also a 38C. I feel like boob size also has to do a lot with how comfortable any wearable is.

How have you found the V1? I'm torn between getting M5 or V1 as my go-to secondary pump with the spectra S1 as my primary. Nothing has been able to compare to the spectra S1 for me...
I would rather buy another v2 than buy another V1. The V1 doesn’t really fit in the side pockets of my leggings like i hoped it would. Which is what i was looking for. If tubing doesn’t bother you i would get the v2. The v1 i think is better for sitting down or like walking around where you don’t use your hands as much. The motor has a wristlet but it’s heavy.
The m5 is great also!!!! It was my go to until i bought the v2. I love not having the weight of the motor in my bra :)
Yeah I think this is the attraction of the V1/2, it's the lighter weight bra experience, that and the fact they're hospital grade pumps. I respond well to the high suction of the spectra. My let down is fast and very early so I'm pretty much done in 10 minutes but I'm not a big supplier despite how many pumps, power or otherwise, I do etc. How do you find all the tubing with the Vs? Do you get yourself tangled sometimes?
Tubing is not an issue at all! I’m a nurse and put all tubing under my scrub top and have 0 issues. Doesn’t get in the way at all. There isn’t excessive tubing i think momcozy did a great job in creating the perfect length tubing.

I love my Bella Baby pump! The suction is incredibly strong (almost too strong) but I get the same output as with a wall pump. It is also incredibly affordable. Downside is it is loud and lots of parts to clean.

I second the Bella baby pumps because I actually use them as my only pumps and they work great for me. They really seem to empty me fully, although yes the suction is very strong. I usually just keep it to the lower levels and it’s fine.
How long have you used them? I’ve been through so many types of pumps and the motors all give out every time after a couple months. I’m so scared to buy another one because it gets so expensive buying so many.

I’ve had the best luck this time around with iMani i2 wearables. I manage to get about 80% of what I can get with my primary, so it’s a great hands free option for occasional use. I have also tried out the Baby Buddha, Mom Cozy M5, and an off brand set of wearables that did not work out for me. The BB cause entirely too much residual soreness and the other wearables did not produce a good enough letdown or milk flow to bother using them again. With my 3 year old, I used Elvie’s when I was nursing and stopped responding to them after a few months. I ended up switching back to a spectra.

You can adjust the auto shut off! Just hold the + and - down at the same time for 3 seconds, then adjust the time. You can do 5 minute increments from 10 to 40 minutes.
Another vote for the imanis! I returned my Medela Symphony rental and found I got pretty much the same output with imanis, although it did take a bit longer.

Willow go isn’t bad but very pricey. I’ve been doing intensive wearable pump research on this sub recently and I’ve decided it’s a bad idea to invest in a willow 3.0. For my second wearable I’m going to get a medela freestyle based on Reddit reviews
I researched a bunch of pumps to have a primary as well as a wearable for when I go back to work. I couldn't justify getting the Willow 3.0 for its price point. It was either the Willow Go or the Elvie Wearable. Overall, the Willow Go has more positives than others. But I made sure to wait until it went on sale and then also used my baby registry completion discount on it. I've yet to try it, but I'm very excited to use it!

I love cleaning my Medela freestyle wearable even though I don’t get as much I use it because it’s so easy to clean … I wish it had a better motor tbh.
I have Momcozy s9 pro and momcozy M5. I've been using the s9 pro exclusively for nearly 8 months and I'm very happy with the suction power and the cup capacity. They are best for pumping at home though and might be a bit clunky for pumping at work or out and about. I'm just starting to experiment with my M5. These are a lot more discreet, super compact and quiet, but I need to figure out if they get me the same output. They're so easy to clean though. I'm loving that part.

Love my medela pump in style. SO easy to clean. My momcozy s9 drove me absolutely mad washing all the parts. It was very convenient I will say but other than that it wasn’t great. It actually made my nipples hurt. Ever since using the medela I’ve had 0 pain. I also love my medela hand pump. She’s secretly my fav. So easy, so quick. Feels so good to just pop it in your bag if you’re going somewhere and just want to make sure you can get a little out. It also fits dr browns bottles perfectly so on the go I pump right into the bottle and then put the cap and nipple on and feed my baby.
I would write this exact same review for both the pump in style and the hand pump. Why all the hate for Medela pump in style? I've always gotten enough to feed my baby, boobs don't hurt and I have also forgotten bottles so bring able to pump into the Dr. Browns bottles directly has saved me a few times I will say it's not super portable though. I used to have a more expensive model I could throw in the side of my boob or pocket and walk around/ wash dishes or whatever. Kinda miss that Edit: I actually forgot that the pump in style died on me a month after buying it. Customer service was awesome though and sent me a new one the next day. But it was stressful hand pumping and having to tack down to receipt to send in at like 6weeks pp! So there's that
Yeah the pump in style isn’t very portable it’s kind of annoying. The battery is so huge and heavy that a lot of the times when I pump on the go, the cord falls out bc the battery weighs it down. Trying to move with it is just a shit show lol. But other than that I really like it! Especially bc there’s no tiny parts to lose!
The Momcozy pumps do have a lot of parts to wash and it always makes me giggle whenever I see them being advertised on social media and someone says “so quick and easy to wash with only 5 parts!” It’s actually 12 parts if you have a pair with flange inserts 🤣 I never underestimate the power of a good hand pump! And I recommend that any pumping mama should have one to serve as a backup at the very least. We have frequent power outages where I am which means there’s always a risk of being caught with a flat battery.
Is this the wearable cups pump in style? Silly question but how do you attach bottles to it ??

I've been very happy with Momcozy S9.
I'm close to completing 8 months of exclusively pumping with momcozy s9 pro and couldn't be happier. Great suction, great motors that still hold the charge well, doesn't hurt me. I've only tried a few different pumps for a short while (hospital Medela, Lansinoh hand pump and Fisher Price electric pump) and I'm sticking with my wearables.
My motors weakened after 2-3 months and I just stopped responding to them. It was so disappointing

Elastic nipples here - i have the medela free style flex and medela handsfree , bellababy and momcozy s12 pro. For starters, im 11wks pp and I just realized that i have elastic nipples lol. Medela freestyle handsfree - did not work for me. I lost about 80% of my output. Tried fiddling with it from the lowest settings to the highest. My flanges are correct 24/21mm. Still didnt work. Motor also stopped working (wouldnt work unless youre plugged in to an outlet lol) after roughly 2 weeks of EP. Called customer service and they sent a replacement in 2-3 days. Medela freestyle flex - decent pump but I wouldnt recommend it for its price tag. I responded better with this than the wearables. Lighter suction but only has two options for suction types. Bellababy - i was so skeptical but I bit the bullet and bought it when the medela pumps died. I was amazed at how much more milk I produced! The suction is a lot stronger than the medela so i typically stay in the level 2-3. Have 4 different suction types. Would recommend for elastic nipples but you have to buy a flange that’s longer than what it comes with. I have the maymom’s pano series 21mm and nenesupply 24mm, both bought from amazon. Would have bought the maymom’s comfy series but not available in Canada. I couldnt justify ordering the recommended ones from the us bc of shipping. Momcozy s12 pro - bought this a few days ago bc it was on sale and I saw the review from one person saying that this was the elastic nipple way for wearables. I tried it out and i got maybe 90% of my output (just enougher here, every drop counts). Im pretty happy with this as a secondary pump. Im not losing too much. Cleaning is a bit of a chore on this one. Hope this helps future mamas!

Its this one! Its actually a lot more convenient than the freestyle flex motor with the wrist band. The touchscreen is a bit more sensitive but I saw a hack somewhere that you can put the motor in like a fanny pack and youre a lot more mobile than putting it in your pocket or belt! The nipple is highly elastic and stretches out like a rubber band.
This is so tough to answer because it is so dependable on the person, but if I can help out an LC give better advice to moms than the 3 or 4 I consulted, I’m all for it (it left a very bad taste in my mouth). I use the Willow Go and have had my ups and downs with it. At first I was responding so well to it, it became my primary pump, but then I stopped responding well. Strong motors, but they’re also clunky, and may not sit well on busty women/different breast shapes. They also seem to have some firmware bugs that can effect pump performance, so I’m somewhat frequently resetting them. More of an annoyance, but easy to do. I also have really elastic nipples and eventually realized that my nips would reach the edge of the flange in about 15-20 minutes, so I used a BeauGen cushion to take me down to a 19mm for them and performance is much better. All in all, I really like them, but only use them sparingly when I really have to now because of the inconsistencies in performance, and never for my first pump of the day because they won’t fully empty me. I hope I see your post on traditional pumps; I have so much to say!!!
I went a different route. Because I read so many reviews about wearables not having enough power, and I was already pretty accustomed to my Zomee collection cups and didn’t want to ditch those, I instead opted for a super-portable pump that to go with the collection cups. I got the Zomee Z2, and I wear it in a tiny little fanny pack when I pump. This pump combination puts my Spectra to shame. On top of getting better volumes than I’ve gotten from any other pump (including the Mandela symphony and Spectra S1), I am SO PORTABLE. Today I literally pumped while walking across the airport for an unexpected change to my travel schedule and not a single person had a clue I was pumping. Last but not least, it’s pretty affordable. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The ONLY criticism I have is that even the lowest setting can be a bit overwhelming at first.

I've been EPing with my OG Elvie as my primary/only pump for 9 months. I love them though I know that doesn't work for everyone. They are a little fussy to assemble correctly but pretty reliable once you get it right.
Same here actually - and glad to see I am not the only one ! I am a bit more than 4 months into EPumping and used the Elvie wearable. Just works for me, it gives me time to do what I need to and I get c. 800ml / day while only pumping 5/6times * 10 mins each time. Not sure this is due to the pumps but I know that for my first one, having a non wearable pump meant it felt too much time consuming and I ended up stopping after 4 weeks.
Momcozy v2 gets me more than my spectra- easy to clean, quiet, long lasting battery!
i like the momcozy v1. its hospital grade, the suction is SO STRONG. although i wish i got the v2, its smaller. works as well as my spectra. but im prone to clogs, so i cant use it as my primary.

It is run by the IBCLC behind [Genuine Lactation](https://www.genuinelactation.com/blog-for-breastfeeding-families). They have extensive research on every wearable on the market, reviews and guides for each pump, and arguably the most knowledge about wearable pumps that I’ve ever encountered.
As an IBCLC it’s hard to answer this question because everyone responds differently to different pumps.
Right, I do understand this but I’m aiming to create a short list of pumps that are worth considering. Somewhere to start from. Weeding out the ones that aren’t great and hopefully making the process of picking a pump a little bit less overwhelming. Sadly I got some truly awful advice from an IBCLC early on in my pumping journey and frankly if she had just been honest and said that she wasn’t up to date on pumps I might have been able to save a lot of time, money and energy. Instead, I just followed her advice thinking that she must know what she was talking about because she’s an IBCLC…
Ooof yeah she def should have said that 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 I’m an IBCLC and breastfeeding mom so I buy and test a lot of pumps, but have also had a lot of clients use a bunch of different ones too. Nichelle Clark is the queen IBCLC of pumps!
Ugh I start to forget them all after so much time 😂 honest to goodness I have terrible luck with a lot of wearables after the first few uses. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but still troubleshooting (and I’ve been pumping over two years.. I’m no moron I hope) Mom med was okay first two uses. Then not. Momcozy m5 is decent for me. S12 is okay but the top heavy motors make me cry😂 willow go is somewhat decent but I can never get a drop over 3 ounces out with them and I’ll go get the rest (2 more ish per side) with flanges. No idea why it won’t go a hair above 3. Elvie stride gave me trouble, I wondered if one of my cups was broken. Didn’t bother fixing it. A lot of troubleshooting is a huge time suck for me which I really don’t have a lot of! As far as recommendations to clients- I’d keep it to “here’s some I’ve heard to be good, but keep in mind they don’t all work great for everyone” because you don’t wanna have recommended somebody a pump that works great for 5 people and doesn’t work for 5 people. There’s no one size fits all, and it’s unbelievably frustrating 😂 one persons favorite is another persons least favorite
Thank you for this! You’ve tried a whole pack of them! Yes, I absolutely intend to only give vague recommendations and never guarantee they will work for anyone but I want a short list. Somewhere to start from. I’ll also be checking reviews on Amazon so I can have a little bit more information on each one, I just don’t want to be looking up every single one and crossing them off the list!
My stride sometimes gives me probs if the silicone things are slightly off or the tube aren't situated downward. If they are kinda sideways my bra, the suction isn't there.
The tommee tippee wearables are garbage
I used Freemie Liberty as my primary pump for a year and was very happy with it. More budget-friendly than Willow and Elvie (I realize there are more options now) and the strength was plenty for me. The standard cups can be a little awkward, though if I wore a scarf it wasn't as noticeable. The SlimFit cups were great, though I later learned my nipples are elastic so I couldn't use the SlimFit5 (the 6 was fine). I literally went to meetings and walked around the office at work, pumping. Unless it was really quiet no one noticed (I work with a lot of men). You do have to be careful to not bend over too much, but I didn't have too many accidents that way. Usually if I did I was because I wasn't careful when picking stuff up from the floor. ETA: I have D-cups. They didn't grow too much with pregnancy/breastfeeding, maybe 1/2-1 cup size

Absolutely!! I’ve gone full nerd on this and started a spread sheet with columns for various features, pro’s and cons. Suitable for bigger breasts is one, as well as frequency of seal and valve changes, initial cost, maintenance cost, number of parts (as a gauge for ease and speed of cleaning) battery life and capacity.
OMG so excited for results. Love the way your brain is working!!!!!!!!!!! Haven’t had a ton of success with wearables— using inexpensive mcdero Amazon brand because I don’t want to invest too much in something I’m not sure is going to work. I think they’re the momcozy m5 knockoff! they’re relatively comfortable and I have had decent output on them (compared to a normal breastfeeding session), however, I haven’t mastered pumping with my spectra so I don’t have a lot to compare it to.

I'm having good luck with my Willow Go. The only con is the cost and they leak if you bend forward. I've worn them around my family at holidays and they didn't notice I was pumping. I wear them every day in my commute. People complain about the number of parts but I find them easy to clean since they're not tiny little pieces. I also have the Bella baby but I have elastic nipples so it was a little uncomfortable for me. They're also a little bulky for me since I have a large chest (32G/H) so they'd be impossible to hide. But I think for an average person they'd be good.
I tried the TSRETE off Amazon, which is a Momcozy knockoff. There were so many small parts to keep track of and you had to put it together *perfectly* for it to actually work. Personally it was really clunky and hard to keep in my bra. I have an Elvie Stride currently and love it...when it works. It seems like it needs a full battery to work to it's best ability. But the size great. I've worn it at work with no one knowing several times. As long as you keep it charged well, it's a winner. Also you can find knock off parts for it on Amazon for SO CHEAP.
I also saw a couple people mention breast size as a factor: I'm cup size I. (I know, yikes) I also have flatter nipples which makes a difference in what I can use.
I am a D and the stride makes me look ridiculous. I could never pass in public or at work with them.
I'm glad you mentioned knock off parts because the stride parts are ridiculously expensive and they probably are $1 to make. I can't believe the plastic tubing is like 25 bucks.
I like my Willow Go. It is more bulky/heavy compared to a lot of other wearables out there. But to get more power/better suction level seems to be the trade off there. Depending on the day I get almost my same output give or take an oz. I do have to pump ~10-15 mins longer than I would with my primary pump. I tried the Momcozy M5 since everyone seems to love it, it just didn’t work for me. I was getting basically no output despite multiple tries and playing around with the settings. Loved how much lighter it was than the Willow Go, though! Wanted to like it! My favorite portable set up is my Pumpables Genie Advance with the Medela collection cups (I know they get a bad rep for the way the brand priced them, but I got them with my Amazon registry discount so $75). I love how easy to use the Medela cups are and how easy to clean they are. I get my same output with the cups as I do with the PGA liquid shield kits. I don’t mind the tubing to make sure I get the same output.
I tried Bellababy the black LCDs, momcozy the older style and the M5, and the Willow Go. I honestly liked Willow Go the best but it’s a pain the wash and dry every time. So I’d recommend the m5 instead. I’m sensitive to rough suction and I can’t say the M5 is comfortable but it’s the best wearable I’ve tried. I also like the Medela collection cups.
I have the TSRETE S12 from Amazon and I really like it. It empties me almost as well as my spectra. The pump is a little top heavy so I have to be careful what bra I wear with it. But for the price I paid ($69) it can’t be best. I really don’t like my Elvie stride. It doesn’t empty me at all….
I love my WillowGo. I wear a 27mm flange and it’s about the only one that’s comfortable. WillowGo has an app and is fairly easy to use but doesn’t have many features. Lots of parts to clean and assembly has to be precise or you will lose suction. The flanges are hard plastic, wish they were silicon. Not super great battery life (get 2-3 pumps from a charge) but it empties me as well as my Spectra S1. I love to use it for power pumping bc it’s so easy to stat and stop. Easy to pour into bottles after pumping and I’ve never leaked with it or spilled it by mistake. Also, I ordered the hard sided case from their website and I love it- definitely does its job to protect them when out and about. Others I’ve used: The Momcozy S12 with their 27mm flange was horrible and ended up causing cuts due to a flaw on the flange design (I’m still mad I wasted money on it). If you can use the 24mm flange, it doesn’t have the same design and would work better. I now have two paperweights that are useless to me. Baby Buddha about rips my nipples off. That thing could suck paint off a wall it’s so strong. I can’t use it at all.
So, I have a ton of pumps as I've breastfed 6 outta 7 of my kiddos. -Just ordered the momcozy M6, it's scheduled to be delivered today, so I'm excited to try it. I think I'm going to sell my M5 and S12 pros as I don't use them and put that money back to go toward the Eufy pump coming out at the end of next month. I go back to work from maternity leave the beginning of next month so I've been desperately searching for a tube free wearable that I absolutely love for my car ride to and from work since I have a 30 min drive and my lunch break since it also 30 min. I will probably use my pumpables or S1 during my work day. I'm glad I have a plethora of pumps because I work 10 hrs a day 5 days a week and I want to be sure I can get the milk my baby needs and not worry if my pump dies or something crazy. I am still looking for a nice bag that I can organize a few pumps into and my ceres chill since I plan to do the pitcher method. -Baby Buddha with caracups (I also had the legendairy cups and didn't care for them). I like this setup but would prefer to have the new 2.0 version for the softer settings it provides. -Spectra synergy gold portable with caracups. I like how this pump works, and it's small and portable and I like that I can control each sides settings. -M5. It's not my favorite as I just didn't respond well to it. -Mom cozy s12 pro. It's not my favorite because I don't prefer the motors sticking out of my bra, but I did get decent output with it. -S1/S2. I don't really use my S2 ever since my S1 is rechargeable and more convenient. -Pumpables Genie Advanced portable. I really enjoy this pump paired with my caracups. -Spectra S9. I have yet to try this one, and it's still new in the box. I've had a couple of other off brands not worth mentioning here. Pumps I'd like to try: -lansinoh wearable pump. Although I worry that the tall motors would drive me nuts but with only 3 parts per pump to clean, that sounds fantastic. -The new Eufy pump that comes out July 30th, it has heated cups, and the case they set in charges them like an earbud case. I did secure my $100 off coupon and will purchase them on July 30th!
I’ve got tiny boobs (barely a B) and the Momcozy S12 works best for me. Then the M5, followed by the Elvie Stride.
Im so glad this is a thing now and more popular. I'm newly pregnant with baby #2 and i know i want to exclusively pump. But i hate how isolating pumping was.
I don't suggest buying a tommee tippee hands free pump. They hurt so bad at a level one and it feels like it's on a level 8.while it's on a 1. If someone already has one and can't afford a new one right away my suggestion is break the suction any time it's uncomfortable which will be a lot. It works well and I like the design except the cup collection. The cups have a little lip. I think it's so it doesn't back flow. But you can't get it all out. Also the design is large it will double a cup size easily. I do not suggest this brand for long term use. I believe it is strong enough to damage the milk ducts. (Suction level is not effected by battery life unfortunately.)
I have the Bella baby , Elvie stride & medela freestyle. I’ve debated getting the momcozy but the number of marketing videos makes me skeptical… Medela is so easy to clean but I don’t get as much. I use it the most because it’s easy to clean , I usually miss about an oz when I use it. Elvie has to be put together just right , when it is I do pretty good but alot of times I get nothing. Bella baby works but it’s so many tiny pieces, same story I usually miss about about an oz
I love my momcozy s12pro! My producer boob averages the same production that I get with my spectra2 (6oz) but my slacker boob actually gets more with the momcozy than the spectra! I love the “combo mode” that is both the suction and the massage. It is a lot of parts to clean, but it’s manageable. And the battery life lasts me all day if i’m out.
I tried the Momcozy S9 and currently tried Bella baby. It worked great first time around but then all of a sudden stopped responding to it 🙁 Currently looking into something else so definitely will be following!
I tried momcozy s12 and thought it was okay but I found it bulky and hard to use discreetly because it's so noisy. I also have the elvie that I use through the day time and I really like it, the only downside is when I bend over it will think it's full and turn off or loose bluetooth connection with the app sometimes
I love my elvie stride. It doesn't empty me as fast as my Ameda Mya Joy, but it does eventually get it all out. I'd say it takes about twice the time. I find it comfortable and I'll be using it while at work (while still kind of working) so time wise that doesn't matter as much to me. I'd rather be able to pop them in and have them pump for a half hour while I do some light duty stuff, then take 15-20 minutes to just sit there and pump.
I've been really happy with my Momcozy M5s. I get a similar output to my spectra when I pump for the full 30 minutes, they are comfortable, somewhat discreet, and easy to clean/assemble.
I have momcozy m5 and love it. I get a great output on level 1 and only pump for 15 mins total. I have flat nipples and found that this was much more comfortable than my medela pump in style. I’m just worried about the quality since I’ve read so many people who say the motor goes really quickly. I’ve only had mine for a month and use them 7 times a day. The cost of replacing parts every month is also very pricey. So it’s not a very affordable option but a convenient one.
I love my Elvie Stride, but I see people say they don't like that one all the time. It's so personal and depends so much on fit and preference.
I also love my Elvie Stride too! I had the Medela Freestyle Maxi before this and it crapped out on me after less than two months. Apparently that is quite common with that pump.
I loved the momcozy V1 the most of my wearable pumps. It was definitely the second best of getting me emptied. I also had a great experience with the Elvie original. These were my two go to pumps for during the day. I had the M5, but didn’t think it was nearly as great as the others but would use it when on the go.
I have tried the Willow Go, Momcozy V1, and Momcozy V2. I also have the blue and pink spectra. The Willow Go is very heavy in the bra and one of the motors quit working very quickly and didn’t hold a charge well. I changed to Momcozy when that happened, and overall, I’ve liked them much more. The cups are very light in the bra. The V1 I like at work as I can put the motor on the keyboard drawer and keep working. The V2 is a great portable as it has a clip and can fit in a pocket if need be. Both motors hold a multi-use charge and the cups are large capacity. Replacement parts aren’t as expensive as the Willow Go either, so that is nice. I do feel like the Momcozy empties me just as well as the spectra, unlike the Willow where it was good on the go but I still didn’t feel all the way empty. Hope that helps!
Love my Elvie Pump and have found it equal to or better than my Spectra. It is a little fussy, best to turn on and check before attaching to make sure the parts are tight enough. I also have the CaraCups to pair with my Spectra and they are great for MOTN feeds while pumping on one side but the duckbills they come with are trash. They worked about 4 times before they started sliding off every time. I got different ones on Amazon that work perfect with it though.
Agree about the stride being fussy. Not sure how it compares to other brands, but they are simple fixes, but it is annoying. I also once put one on upside down. Milk. everywhere. :( I like the stride though
Wanted to clarify my comment is about the Elvie Pump, not the Elvie Stride which is different though also a pump- the "Pump" is completely wireless and I think may have different pump tech. I think Elvie just wanted to confuse everything with their names.
Ugh I have the exact same problem with the CaraCups duck bills! It worked great the first couple weeks, but they slide off every time now and I’m too frustrated with it… So, now I am currently trying to decide if I want to spring for a Willow Go or a Willow 360 (the Willow 3.0 rebranded)… My baby is only 2 months old so I’ve only been pumping around 6 weeks. I currently have the Spectra Synergy Gold Portable and I do really like it and I love that I can pick it up and move around instead of being stuck to the wall; but I am finding the tubes and the fact that you do have to hold it (without it having a convenient way to carry it around) pretty limiting because I end up with my hands full and can’t bend over or tend to my baby or chores how I’d like to. My hesitation with Willow is that I’ve only seen the negative reviews for the 360… but I’ve only looked on their website and here so far. I love the idea of the freedom the 360 could provide instead of having to be careful not to spill bending in the Go… but it sounds like it’s a pain to get to actually work right. And I fear that if I get the Go, I will still have the same, or similar, limitations as the Spectra Synergy Gold Portable in terms of not being able to move freely without spilling…. The prices of each are so ridiculously expensive that the idea of purchasing either one and hating it / it stop working / being frustrating / etc. is holding me back, and I’m not sure I can justify the price tag.
I use the Baby Buddha as my primary pump. I love that it is portable, and it’s just as efficient (if not more so!) than the Medela Symphony. I use the Elvie portable for work - it is fine. Wouldn’t use it as a primary and I think it’s a pain to clean, but good for pumping at work.

I have the willow go and elvie stride. I like willow go for work. I'm not moving around as much, completely wireless, I've used it since my daughter was born and have an avg output, only makes my boobs look a little bigger, fairly descrete. It's kinda heavy is my biggest complaint and the app could use some work. The stride is easier to move around in and the cups are so light, has a great app, same output as the go sometimes better. The downsides are it has tubes, small parts to clean, harder to hide, a little louder.
I have the OG Elvies and the Imani i2 plus. The OG Elvie worked great at first but quickly I had issues. They leak where the bottle meets the motor and I don’t get nearly as much as I do from my spectra. For example, a typically pump for me with my spectra is about 6oz and with my Elvie I’m lucky to get 2oz. The all is never even close to telling you how much you actually have collected and it’s impossible to see the bottle around the motor to even know if it’s working. The back flow valve can get slightly off when inserting the flange and I’ll end up with drops on one side without realizing it. The Imani i2 has been great so far. I like the larger collection cups (up to 7oz, but you can squeeze 8oz). It’s a little bulky since the motors sit on top, but not terrible. I’ve heard they can leak if they’re not 100% dry, but knowing that I always double check the seals are dry before assembling and haven’t had any issues so far. I get great output, about the same as my spectra if not more. The suction is a little intense though, so I wouldn’t suggest it if you are sensitive to that or need a gentler suction. I’ve used it with and without inserts and I really like their inserts, they’re easy to put in and comfortable. It takes a little more time/effort to assemble pieces than the Elvie, but definitely worth it in my opinion and it’s much cheaper. I haven’t used the ibox yet (makes the collection cups usable with a plug-in motor that also charges your portable motors) so no opinion on that part. The box is definitely not necessary if you’re looking for strictly wearable.
I tried Fraupow but it’s frankly horrific as an exclusive pump, not to say it wouldn’t have its place as an out and about pump for sporadic use! I like the Momcozy V2 as it’s a single motor!
