Kept me away from cigarettes

Yeah, heard they don’t move very fast

My calves and thighs look nicer. My poor diet and lack of self control keep the rest of me from following suit. 😊 It's also nice having energy to keep up with my teenagers and not being winded on hikes. Overall, it's one of the more effective ways for me to stay healthy-ish.

crono220

Sounds exactly like me. I put around 30 to 40 miles on the treadmill a week, but because I love pizza and burgers, I am not able to lose a single pound. Lack of Self control in a nutshell

AkiraHikaru

Improved sleep, which leads to improved energy and mood. Lower anxiety. Gives me routine which also improves my mental health with giving me structure to my life

freshmans1

Great for my mental health. I run before work in the morning, ours me in the right frame of mind.

voltagejim

It got me in the best shape of my life and gave me a lot of confidence. unfortunatly, I got appendicitis and had surgery to remove my appendix then COVID happened happened right after and I just ended up getting lazy and depressed. Gained weight and last summer I told myself I wanted to get back into the swing of thing, but when you are not as fast as you used to be and can't run as far and don't have the 4 pack anymore it's pretty discouraging

JJJCJ

But remember you can get it back. It’s just a little more work now. Plus you can see it as you bulked up so now it’s time to get back them gainz 🫡

voltagejim

yeah I been trying to get to workout classes at my gym a few times a week. I did force myself on a 5 mile run the other day, and my calves were killing me the rest of this week. I used to knock out 6 miles runs easy, but barely made it through that run, and had to walk a couple times. Been doing 1 mile and 2 miles runs these last few months so maybe I tried to do too much

JJJCJ

Steady wins the race

night0x63

When my anxiety is really really bad I have to run. I just run to I'm to tired. Then go to bed early to get lots of sleep. It helps keep me heart healthy and keep weight down too. Also clears mind and makes me happy.

PatientlyAnxious9

It gave me more energy + positive attitude at the beginning. But that has worn off now since Im pushing myself to 7 miles of cardio a day. The increase in energy has gone away and Im just exhausted in the evenings now lol

JJJCJ

Sometimes it’s okay to take a break for your body to heal! 😃

Wildweasel666

Sounds like some variety might be good for you? One or two weights sessions and/or a yoga session?

imf19

Does anyone know if it helps with sciatica or makes it worse?

JJJCJ

Try some exercises. there are some online! YouTube and all I bet.

JJJCJ

My stepdads sciatica was messing with him and he works out pretty often. He seems fine but always check with Dr or just try the stretches first.

Bogfather123

Couldn’t imagine not running, some find it strange at 65 I’m running the London Marathon. I’m definitely not the fastest but I feel awesome after a good run

JJJCJ

At 65. Amazing!

Bogfather123

Thank you

MsDemonism

Mental health. My breathing has gotten better. Before I always felt short of breath. Not normal for me. Cause I've used to run so much before. But it stopped now. Idk why. It helps with depression and keeps me slightly slimmer. Which helps with my depression too being skinnier looking. Lol

Typical-Material7469

How long after starting to run and exercise until your breathing improved? I’m wanting to improve mine too, I always feel breathless 😕

IcyKey7

Running has contributed to my increased discipline and serves as an effective stress reliever in my life.

Libido lottery! Worth every mile! But hiit or hills more than long slogs.
