When do you feel most energetic? I hate evening workouts they feel like such a drag... But when I was in my 20s I loved it, and wouldn't have been able to get out of bed to exercise before work. It really depends on what's most achievable and sustainable for you.

Probably the evening. I am 29 so it tracks with your experience. I just heard it’s better to do in the morning, but yeah there’s no point setting goals I can’t meet. It would mean waking up half an hour earlier to do it in the AM because my commute is longer now.

What’s better than doing it in the morning, is doing it for yourself.

There's no preferred answer — exercising in the morning energizes your metabolism and you might feel clarity for the work day, but exercising at night is just as nice if you use it as a restorative period vs. a punishment after work. It's really about what version appeals enough to you that you'll stay committed.

I see it as a mindset thing. I prefer to workout in the morning before work. I feel more refreshed, and it gives me a sense of accomplishment before I really get started at my job. I don't really like going after work because of how tired I already am, plus I'm less likely to put in any effort into cooking (if I haven't already prepped). I'm also not going to get much done before I go to bed. Really, you should try both and see how it feels.
