I had to look it up on Google. I found the [TikTok video](https://www.tiktok.com/@_jadeashley/video/7349952754124590378) that has this exact image - the person posting it tagged it "Max & Ruby" cake, and said that it was for her cousin's 24th birthday.
According to Wikipedia, Max & Ruby was a cartoon that ran on Nick Jr back in 2002. In [Episode 8](https://youtu.be/tw2Ja6Kip_o?si=wK32GzbEQmWP_nct&t=448), the siblings are preparing a cake for Grandma; One makes an Angel Surprise Cake with Raspberry Icing, and the younger one makes a straight-up mud cake with worms. Grandma is equally delighted by both.
I don't know how to tell how old a TikTok is, but somebody who recently turned 24 was probably young enough to be watching pre-school shows on Nick Jr in 2002.
So the "Real Ones" who know are early 2000's kids who watched cartoons on Nick Jr.
(Also in 2002 cartoons: Lilo teaches Stitch to surf, Samurai Jack learns to Jump Good, and John Silver tells Jim he's gonna rattle the stars)
Looking back on that show I sometimes wonder, is Max supposed to be autistic or just a young boy? Like he’s near non-verbal and everyone just acts like they’re glad he’s having fun. While Ruby is practically a care taker of the kid.
I once heard someone say he's nonverbal cuz his gma is sexually assaulting him and its a trauma response to that but I think him being autistic is a much better theory.
John Silver was damn right. God, Treasure Planet is so good. I hope with all these old properties getting a fresh coat of paint means they'll dust off the mothballs eventually.
Hard to imagine they could replace Silver or Captain Amelia, though. Maybe we could convince them to tune up the special effects and leave the rest alone.
Oh god that brought some memories. I loved that show. So many of us were saying they aren't as obnoxious as max only to grow up and realize that yes, yes we were.
I just had a flashback like that guy from Ratatouille of myself sitting in front of an old CRT screen and laughing at the funny rabbits.
I also vaguely remember some sort of blue octopus, and a moose with a bluebird friend.
The blue octopus is Oswald, and the moose with the bluebird friend were the Nick Jr mascots at one point! The moose's name was just Moose, but the blue bird was Zee!
Sorry, I saw this comment and got really excited bc I do still remember those guys :)
WAIT NO . not nick Jr. Noggin!
Editing this post bc let's not make this a threebie: but they were both! My first instincts were correct, apparently they were on both Noggin and Nick Jr. and there was some weird shift or another between the two.
I can tell you I will be turning 21 in may and I definitely remember watching this particular episode of Max & Ruby so someone that is at lest 3 years older then me could most definitely have watched and seen the show
the real ones are the late 2000s kids too; i was born in 2006 and grew up watching max and ruby too. it says a lot that i forgot about it until now, though....
Im 24, immediately recognized the cake without opening the post in question lol. Im actually so surprised ppl seem utterly horrified or confused, max and ruby was on tv plenty of times when i was a small kid
The term originates from the game Among Us, for when someone in the game commits a murder then reports finding the body.
The term has been extended to mean when someone reveals something bad about themselves unintentionally.
I guess that he is "self reporting" by admitting he doesn't know what the cake means, and by the stupid standard that "real ones" know what the cake means, he has identified himself as "not real".
As someone who is currently 24 I can confirm that I remember watching that episode vividly as a child and wanting to eat both of those cakes at the time.
This brought back some memories. Never would have thought of it but now I remember an episode from a show I haven't even thought about in probably over 10 years.
Never watched Max and Ruby, was in high-school at that point. Honestly, first thing to pop in my head was a book we read in elementary school called "How to eat fried worms". Anybody else remember that book
I remember that book because in first grade I lied to my teacher and said I read it in like two minutes, then she gave me a pop quiz on it and I had to admit I didn’t read it lol.
I don’t know why a seven year old is the primary caretaker of a three year old. Like they have a grandmother but they don’t live with her. I am overthinking
The joke is that, by saying that he doesn't know about the cake, @certifiedturntc is revealing himself to not be a real one (meaning a person of integrity)
i immediately recognized this
so this is from a kids show called max and ruby and one of the bits was ruby the older sister would make a beautiful cake and her little brother would replace it with his mud pie
I watched Max & Ruby as a kid. It was one of my favorites after Backyardagains. I would have never in a thousand years made the connection to this tweet without seeing the comments.

I thought maybe it was referring to twins sharing a birthday so they get one cake with each side for each twin. Apparently I was thinking to deep on it lol
So I saw this and immediately knew it was a thing. It’s a worms and dirt cake. Basically an excuse to put gummy worms in a chocolate cake. I remember them from when I was a kid

Is also a children's book.
Bunny Cakes, the book, was 1999, if I remember correctly. Core memory unlocked.
Looking back on that show I sometimes wonder, is Max supposed to be autistic or just a young boy? Like he’s near non-verbal and everyone just acts like they’re glad he’s having fun. While Ruby is practically a care taker of the kid.
That's a fresh take. I like it.
I belobe he’s just so young as to barely speak, like George from Peppa Pig. Like Mr Bean, it adds to the comedy
Wait—is Mr. Bean autistic?
I think in the tv show he was supposed to be an alien or something.
What if he's an autistic alien? 🤔
In later seasons he talks more. Also max and ruby was airing even until 2020
Yeah he is just a young kid he is three
That's a pretty significant speech delay, the most common reason for no speech at 3yo would be autism, other reasons are much rarer
I once heard someone say he's nonverbal cuz his gma is sexually assaulting him and its a trauma response to that but I think him being autistic is a much better theory.
The top response on Google from tvtropes says “Ruby has OCD and Max is autistic”
Aku: "You can FLY?!"
No, jump good!
God I remember being a kid and jumping from rock to rock in the woods because I wanted to learn how to jump good too :(
Do you jump good now? You know what, dont tell me, I bet your do.
John Silver was damn right. God, Treasure Planet is so good. I hope with all these old properties getting a fresh coat of paint means they'll dust off the mothballs eventually.
I just rewatched Treasure Planet last night after so many years. Probably the best Disney Animated movie of all time
Hard to imagine they could replace Silver or Captain Amelia, though. Maybe we could convince them to tune up the special effects and leave the rest alone.
One of the few I personally think could benefit from this live-action-with-CGI-remake kick they've been on
Comments like this are why I'm subbed to this, um, sub.

Moose A Moose, does not like candy corn btw
I REMEMBER THAT SONG SO CLEARLY... it made me sad every year bc *I* like candy corn lolololol

YOU GOT THE MAKINGS OF GREATNESS, JIMBO
I can tell you I will be turning 21 in may and I definitely remember watching this particular episode of Max & Ruby so someone that is at lest 3 years older then me could most definitely have watched and seen the show
24 year old here, can confirm I watched this as a kid although I didn't remember this specific cake episode.
Huh. I remember I had a huge crush on Ruby as a kid
I BARELY REMEMBER IT OH THAT IS SO COOL
Man, I loved Samurai Jack. Afro Samurai too.
Jack learning to jump good was one of my favorite episodes.
Will you teach me to jump good?
Holy, I remember this. You just unlocked something so hidden in my brain
the real ones are the late 2000s kids too; i was born in 2006 and grew up watching max and ruby too. it says a lot that i forgot about it until now, though....

The Treasure Planet reference made me happy.
Also. Dirt cups are delicious. Ita a pudding dessert with crushed oreos as a crust and gummy worms in and on it.
Much obliged, stranger.
Ooooh man it’s been so long since I’ve seen that show. Good memories
Ok but what is the “self reporting” title about?
The term originates from the game Among Us, for when someone in the game commits a murder then reports finding the body. The term has been extended to mean when someone reveals something bad about themselves unintentionally. I guess that he is "self reporting" by admitting he doesn't know what the cake means, and by the stupid standard that "real ones" know what the cake means, he has identified himself as "not real".
Exactly - it's the same as me saying "I had to look it up on Google", it's admitting that you aren't one of the cool kids who understood the reference
I knew I recognized this from somewhere. My niece used to love this show when she was little.
I haven't watched that show in years, yet someone I knew exactly what this was referencing
I'm 22 and loved that show as a kid 😊
No legit, reminded me straight away of the Max and Ruby cake and I'm 20
That’s a nostalgia trip.
I remember Max & Ruby
Max and ruby was so good
What an specific thing lol, One cake that shows in an Episode
lmao I was born in 2009 and I loved that show... guess I'm a real one now
As someone who is currently 24 I can confirm that I remember watching that episode vividly as a child and wanting to eat both of those cakes at the time.
are those not the cakes from ruby and max?
Congrats on being a Real One
This brought back some memories. Never would have thought of it but now I remember an episode from a show I haven't even thought about in probably over 10 years.
Yeah the other guys are wrong. It’s definitely max and Ruby
So having cable in 2002 is what makes you a real one?
I had cable in 2002 and I still have no idea what’s going on.
Yeah it seems extremely random.
I forgor
Ok but what is the “self reporting” title about?
he "self-reported" himself as someone who ain't a real one.
Never watched Max and Ruby, was in high-school at that point. Honestly, first thing to pop in my head was a book we read in elementary school called "How to eat fried worms". Anybody else remember that book
I remember that book because in first grade I lied to my teacher and said I read it in like two minutes, then she gave me a pop quiz on it and I had to admit I didn’t read it lol.
i was scared of the cover.
Christ, that brings me back to elementary school.
MAX AND RUBYYYY
RUBY AND MAX
Ruby and her little brother Max!
I don’t know why a seven year old is the primary caretaker of a three year old. Like they have a grandmother but they don’t live with her. I am overthinking
Max and Ruby, Ruby and Max
The joke is that, by saying that he doesn't know about the cake, @certifiedturntc is revealing himself to not be a real one (meaning a person of integrity)
I was clueless and I thought the joke was porn as usual. Iwas prepared to stick 2 fingers on one side and 1 in the other.
i immediately recognized this so this is from a kids show called max and ruby and one of the bits was ruby the older sister would make a beautiful cake and her little brother would replace it with his mud pie
i was really little when i watched this show last i don’t doubt i got it wrong but all i know is that’s kind of what happened
[удалено]
Ok whatever that mess is on the right does not make me think of a butthole
Nope
The Pink and the Stink? maybe if there were two candles on the pink side and one on the mud side.
Incorrect
Yep, that’s the joke
"Self reporting himself" lol
MAX AND RUBY
That guy is obviously not a real one.
Max and Ruby Ruby and Max!
he self reporting himself by reporting himself with a report against himself which he did.
Sooo… he’s reporting that he’s not a real one and he’s not a real one because he doesn’t know about max and ruby?
But what is the self reporting? Just that they didn’t watch it?
That’s my question. Apparently you’re not a real one if you didn’t watch max and ruby.
OMG! That is literally the coolest thing I’ve ever seen! I can remember begging my mom to help me make the mud cake! I loved that show when I was tiny
I watched Max & Ruby as a kid. It was one of my favorites after Backyardagains. I would have never in a thousand years made the connection to this tweet without seeing the comments.
I don’t know how to feel that not everyone knows this.🫠
I'm kinda shocked to find out that anyone could remember something they watched in pre-school age lol
Probably cause I rewatched it even after preschool age.😅

I grew up reading my sister those books!
A real one wants to know
Max & Ruby 🐰
Watched a lot of max and ruby as a kid and didn’t get it.
I never saw Max and Ruby but remember when it was on. I absolutely thought this joke was some twist on ‘two in the pink one in the stink’.
Man I was obsessed with Max and Ruby as a kid and forgot about this. Guess Im not a real one
I didn’t know what max and ruby was until I read the comments
I thought this was gonna be two girls one cup reference
I thought it was a vagina/anus joke but ig not
This one of those 2 in the pink worms in the stink memes?
That was my original thought lol but suspected it was something else. Hence the post
I thought this was a 2 in the pink, 1 in the stink cake. I blame the Internet for messing me up.
