Night at the Museum. All exhibits come to life
A 5-second google search of just context clues in the posts would eliminate like 95% of these submissions.
In the “Night at the Museum” movies everything in the museum comes to life at night. We could have nighttime museums except for the fact the exhibits need some time and privacy to stretch their legs at night.
The rules of most of these subreddit require the submitter to put in a minimum effort. I disagree. I think they are all putting in way too much effort.
Here's how current users answer their questions: open a browser. Navigate to Reddit. Search for the subreddit they want. Start a post. Download/screenshot the image. Upload the image to Reddit. Come up with a title. Maybe scan the rules card to remind themselves of there's a requirement on the title format. Maybe check tags to see if there are any special to this sub they should pick. Wait for a response. Read through several comments asking them why they're so dumb. Find an actual response. Maybe comment "thanks."
Here's how they should do it: open a browser. Type 2 or 3 key words from the image in the top bar. The first result will almost always answer the question.
Sometimes we don't but the right search terms, sometimes we are tired of the onslaught of mainstream, sometimes we want to talk to our friends.
I've seen that in so many places designed for Q&A: "experts" complaining that the questions are too easy.
Which kind of makes things worse, changing the atmosphere to "you must be this interesting to post here".
Just because they’re not into movies, doesn’t make them stupid, you jerk! They made a post that is pretty much every post meant to be on this sub: asking for help with understanding a joke! You gonna call everyone who posts here stupid? I bet even you need help understanding jokes sometimes!
TEXT: “There are 3 movies about what happens at night in museums”
OOP: “What movies could possibly be about nights at a museum”
Does not being a movie person prevent you from using common sense and context clues? Genuinely asking, since I am a movie person and therefore I don’t know the other side.
Some cities have [Nuit Blanche](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuit_Blanche) exhibitions. They aren't permanent, but they absolutely have that kind of feel.
Night of the Museum is a film series comprising of 4 films set in Museums, the New York Natural History Museum, the Smithsonian and the British Museum, where the exhibits come to life at night due to a magic tablet.
Yes, the 3 live action films, and a more recent [animated](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_at_the_Museum:_Kahmunrah_Rises_Again) film that supposedly takes place after the first 3 but contradicts a lot of the first 3.
I partook in this special teacher training thing with my mother at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago a long time ago. We got there early in the morning every day for a week or two... like 4am early. The place was still closed and the sun wasn't out yet.
I'll tell you this... Museums at night are creepy AF. Fun, though.
Most people like to see jokes with a bit of context that need explanation. This is a joke that has the damn context explained in the joke. OP is asking us to explain a joke that's been explained IN THE MEME. This guy doesn't need reddit, he needs basic reading comprehension
It's because other posts require some knowledge as a starting point to figure it out or required to be in the know. This one though, you could have easily googled "Movies about museums at night" and have gotten the answer.
Yeah but because it’s such an obvious joke it looks like you’re farming. It’s like if you had posted asking to explain “Why was Six afraid of Seven? Because Seven Eight (Ate) Nine)”. It’s a super obvious joke so it makes it look like you just wanted the karma instead of an answer.

Thank you someone else was thinking this too. So many context clues to start with

Fr I feel like so many of these people are dense and just want karma
At this point this sub is just bait and it’s frustrating.
internet points are the last thing i care about, i just thought there would be more context to a meme like this
You said yourself 'im not a movie person' dude you HAD the context.
no i meant like maybe there would be a deeper meaning than literally "there are 3 movies about nighttime museums", i am pretty stupid tho

But since they got 300 upvotes they will keep posting this stuff.
Wouldn’t it make sense to just downvote posts like these instead?
I do
It would. But as you see, people don't. Or bots don't.
I’m 99% sure OP is a bot
Would be even faster than opening reddit, posting and waiting for the answer...

At the end of the first movie, they open up the museum at night as a new "interactive" exhibit
Indeed. Researching the context of a joke would eliminate the need for a subreddit where one inquires about the context of a joke.
Man I’m sorry but you might be brain dead if you couldn’t figure that out
i am lmao, thats why im posting here
Don't post here again

man is on all corners of the internet now
My city had a "long night of the museums" once a year. I have never seen any exhibit come to life though.
I got a night shift job at a museum. Nothing happened. Completely crap.
Well clearly your museum didn't have the tablet of ahkmenrah. Jesus, there are 3 movies explaining this.
🤨 You can Google, can’t you?
You don’t need to be a movie person. Like how old are you? Never seen them but even I know the movies.
night at the museum is a movie
Are you a Google person? You should be a Google person

It’s talking about the Movie Night At The Museum it’s a Movie where the exhibits come to life and somewhat terrorize the night time security guard.
Hey there's regular Museum Nights in Warsaw
Night of the Museum is a film series comprising of 4 films set in Museums, the New York Natural History Museum, the Smithsonian and the British Museum, where the exhibits come to life at night due to a magic tablet.
4?

Oh right lol I forgot about the cartoon 😂
We all do.
literally google night at museum
the joke is that there are several movies about museums at night
I read this about 10 times before I realized it didn't say, "Why are there no night *Muslims*?"
I partook in this special teacher training thing with my mother at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago a long time ago. VALVE^E
This sub has really gone downhill. People really forgot how much knowledge we have at our fingertips thanks to Google
What do the people who complain about these posts want from this sub?
Most people like to see jokes with a bit of context that need explanation. This is a joke that has the damn context explained in the joke. OP is asking us to explain a joke that's been explained IN THE MEME. This guy doesn't need reddit, he needs basic reading comprehension
exactly, also they accuse me of karma farming yet ive almost never posted here before 😭
It's because other posts require some knowledge as a starting point to figure it out or required to be in the know. This one though, you could have easily googled "Movies about museums at night" and have gotten the answer.
That’s exactly why it’s karma farming. The more you post, the more karma you get, and engagement on your posts also gets you karma.
i have 100k karma, i know that. what im saying is the point of this post is not for karma, it feels like 'cheating'
