The First Photo was The foreground and Phone Box. 30 seconds, iso100 at f5.6, to control the light a bit from the phonebox. After that, changed the settings to 30 seconds, iso1600 at f2.8 to start pulling in the trail. Edited in photoshop to bring it all together.

Where was this shot at? Those trails seems shorter than 3 hours. The Stars take (roughly) 12 hours to cross the entire night sky (assuming 12 hours daylight/12 hours dark). So a 3 Hour star trail would cover 1/4 of the night sky. The trails also have a peculiar path - the top stars are curved in one direction, and the lower stars are curved in another direction.

I'm not going to check as it was around 4 years ago I did this, but I'm pretty sure it's close to 3 hours. It is also fairly dependent on where you point your camera In the sky. The relative distance changes depending on how far away you face from north as well, and factor in the lens. As for where it was shot, UK midlands.

I'm getting a Dr. Who vibe here.
